Who First Said Time Flies When Your Having A Good Time

Time flies when you're having fun (in a relationship)?

I've been with my bf for 3 months. We crossed paths a few months before we actually got together. When we ran into each other the second time, we have been together ever since.

It feels like we have been together longer than 3 months. My bf himself commented a month ago how it seems like we've been talking longer than we have.

We don't have any issues or problems. Nothing major has occurred. We've even dropped the L-word. Things are progressing pretty good.

Is this normal? Usually you hear people say that time flies, esp. when you get with someone new. You hear something like they been together for "x" amount of time but it only felt like "y" time.

Should I see this as a good thing or a bad thing?

A good song about how time flies by so fast?

Tears For Fears - Head Over Heels

Ending: "Funny how........time....fli-i-i-i-i-es...."

Why does time "fly" when you're having fun?

Time flies when attention is distracted away from it. When we are having a good time with our friends, watching an enjoyable movie, or absorbed in a good book, we lose track of time and that activity is over in a blink. If you are going through a hectic day where you are constantly running from one thing to another, oblivious to the passage of time, that day will be over before you know it.Contrast that with a day spent at home with not much to do. That day will crawl along slowly, and seem longer because you can afford to devote some attention to the passage of time and that slows time’s apparent speed.Busy time goes by quickly. Empty time goes by slowly. One way to explain how this happens is to use the internal clock model and imagine that our attention acts as a counter that counts the number of ticks emitted by our brain’s internal clock. When you devote more attention to the passage of time, the attention counter gate is wide open and, as a result, none of the ticks emitted by your brain’s internal clock are missed, so that more time is counted and the duration of that activity will seem long, so time appears to drag.On the other hand, when your attention is distracted from time keeping, the attention counter gate becomes narrow and starts missing some of the ticks emitted by your internal clock. The result is that less time is counted and the duration of that activity will seem shorter, so time flies. For more information on the speed of time and how to control it, check out ‘The Power of Time Perception”To measures how fast time runs in your brain, check this quick online test. You just answer a few questions and receive a detailed report about the speed of time in your mind. Is the phrase "time flies when you're having fun" scientifically true?

No not really, but time seems to go faster if you don't pay attention how late it is. So as in the train you sit in seems to move, but in reality it is the train next to your train. If your train moves you can feel that. Speed and time are human constructs."Time is a measure in which events can be ordered from the past through the present into the future, and also the measure of durations of events and the intervals between them.  Time is often referred to as the fourth dimension, along with the three spatial dimensions.Time has long been a major subject of study in religion, philosophy, and science, but defining it in a manner applicable to all fields without circularity has consistently eluded scholars.  Nevertheless, diverse fields such as business, industry, sports, the sciences, and the performing arts all incorporate some notion of time into their respective measuring systems.  Some simple definitions of time include "time is what clocks measure"."Time

Why does time fly when I'm talking to him?

Time flies when you're having fun they say. It's the same with my BF. Especially when we're together, the weekend just flies. It sucks though right.

Why do you say “time flies” instead of “time flys”?

I say /taym flayz/ or something like that. When I say it, you don’t hear how I spell it.You may be aware that time flies like an arrow, while fruit flies like a banana, but whether the fly is a noun or a verb, the phonology doesn’t notice or care: it adds the ‘s’morpheme for plural or the ‘s’ morpheme for first person singular, and that morpheme is realized as the allomorph /z/.The flies are in the sky, and they follow the same morphological and spelling rules as the skies. Both the morphological and spelling rules apply, regarless of the pronunciation of the final ‘y’. The plural or ‘city’ is ‘cities.’ The 3rd-person singular of the very ‘busy’ is ‘busies’.All of these spelling probably go back to Middle English, in which that morphemic ending , following a vowel, was its own syllable, was like /es/, where /e/ is an unstressed schwa-vowel, and /s/ is voiceless. And for whatever reason, the scribes of the time changed ‘y’ to ‘i’ in front of. Silly Norman scribes, mangling English.

Why is it that time flies so fast that we don't even realize it?

Time flies…yes it doesYesterday when I was looking at the 4 year old me in the old photographs I saw that cute smile on her face and those crystal clear eyes. I realized how much I changed. As an almost 21 year old I m no more that cute little girl of 4.Everything has changed. I study in a university and I have plans to work for. I have time limits and deadlines for work on my desk. But all she had was a simple day. She could play all day and the drama. Time flies at least in last 14 years I could not realize where it went. You make mistakes and then you try to make things right. Years pass and you grow old. School and the college…life was a golden journey till now…and time is surely flying as I couldn't realize how fast 2 years of my college life completed. We have so many things on our mind that we forget to realize that we have limited hours and days on this Earth…and when we do we proclaim that time flies For me too Time flies!

Is it time "goes" by so soon, or time "went" by so soon?

We need to know the context in order to make good suggestions. In addition to the verb tense, we have other issues with the choice of adverbs, soon, fast or quickly…Example 1: Using the present tense for a general true statement that happens every time: Time goes by so quickly when you are having fun.Example 2: Using the simple past tense to talk about a specific event that happened already: The time went by so fast we missed our bus.

Where did the phrase "Time flies" come from?

"Time flies" is a translation of an older Latin phrase tempus fugit, a poetic expression that captures the inevitable passing of time and the need to enjoy the time that humanity has. Wikipedia has a good entry on the history of tempus fugit.

Cules: Do you feel that time flies by so fast?

The arrival of guardiola back to Barca to be our manager felt almost like it was only yesterday. All the achievements we have had in the past 4 years felt like it was only done moments ago. When Pep waved us good bye one last time before he went into the tunnels, I just couldn't help but feel my pride for my club grow steadily stronger. Guess, it is time for a new era--this time under Vilanova. I hope Pep liked our singing and chanting. I hope he felt our love for him from our draping banner. That flag costed a lot. (I donated money for it to be printed. :') ) Until next time! T'estimem Pep!
