Who Good In Pre-calculus I Need Help

If you are good in Pre Calculus, PLEASE HELP ME?!!!? A scientific calculator is needed.?

The previous answers given have some problems and are not totally correct. I will not give you the answers, but I can give you some hints.

6) sin(t)=-3/5, first you must find angle t by using arcsin (aka inverse sin) then plug in sin(t/2) which will give you the answer, but you must remember it will be negative as it is in the IV quadrant.

7) I am unsure of your notation as tan20/1 is tan20, not sure if you meant that as your problem. If so just plug it into your calculator, there should be a scientific calc on your computer.

8) Once again find theta using arcsin(8/17) which will give you theta, then plug it into cos(2theta).
9) Remember that tanx=sinx/cosx, would anything cancel out?

Any one really good in Pre-calculus?

I need help in understanding interval notation, limits, finding maxima and minima, end behavior, and increasing and decreasing functions. If you're willing to help me then respond with an AIM screen name or a Yahoo!MEssenger screen name. Thank you so much.

Do you need pre-calculus to be able to learn calculus?

For a list of things you should know before calculus, see Calculus background. Most of the topics on the list you’ll know from algebra. You should also know about coordinates, equations of straight lines and their slopes, graphs of functions. And, of course, trigonometry, logarithms, and exponential functions. If you know these things, you’ve got the background for calculus.A pre-calculus course will cover these things if you haven’t seen them yet. Pre-calculus books have too much in them, are overly pedantic, and rely on students using calculators. The main advantage of taking a pre-calculus course is that it gives you a chance to practice your algebra.

Is Precalculus for Dummies a good source for help?

I'm studying over the summer for a pre-calculus exam that will bump me up to AP Calculus in my junior year. I need a helpful book to look to if I get confused while learning the standards.

Pre-calc NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE!!!!?

1. I'm reading your question as give me a cubic function with the zeros of -2, 5, and -6. If that is so, then you have the right function; (x+2)(x-5)(x+6) does have those roots. You could, if you wanted to, foil it out into (x^2 + 8x + 12)(x - 5) = x^3 + 3x^2 -28x - 60.

2. Imagine a graph of -16t^2 + 608t. It is quadratic with (0, 0) as a x and y axis. We know the a^2 value is negative, therefore, the graph will point downwards-- in other words, the graph has a maximum. The maximum value is where the graph is at its axis of symmetry. There are many ways to find out the maximum, I prefer completing the square:

-16t^2 + 608t = -16(t^2 - 38t) = -16(t^2 - 38t + (38/2)^2) + 16*(38/2)^2 = -16(t^2 - 38t + 361) + 5776 = -16(t - 19)^2 + 5776. Since anything squared is positive and a positive times a negative will always result in a negative, the maximum value for this function would be when t = 19, and the " -16(t - 19)^2 " part is 0, therefore the maximum point is 5776.

Should I take pre-calculus or trig before calculus?

Pre-Calculus, as the name suggests, is better to take before Calculus. Let me tell you why I am better off now having taking it rather than trig.Firstly, pre-calculus introduces you to many things that you will need in not just Calculus 1, but also 2 and 3. For example, there are sections on partial fractions decomposition (needed for evaluating some integrals), polar coordinates, and parametric equations.Secondly, many pre-calculus courses provide a preview of Calculus. This usually involves the derivation of the limit, the basic derivative at a point, and Riemann sums. This will let you know what Calculus is all about. Finally, pre-calculus covers all the topics covered by trig. This is not to say that it covers them as thoroughly, but they are still covered sufficiently. There will always be at least one chapter where you learn about the unit circle, the trig functions, graphs, and their identities. Trig will cover these things in more depth, but that depth is not necessary for Calculus.

I might fail precalculus, what should I do?

Do what you can.I’m assuming you have a D in the class for the purpose of this answer.I don't know how close you are to not failing, but you need to ask your teacher for help.Chances are, your teacher will be able to lay out what to do for you to pass this semester. (Extra practice, extra credit)Do not waste any time. Ask your teacher tomorrow, because break is arriving soon and that's only a few weeks away. Also, spend time practicing and figuring out what mistakes you're making in your work to cause a your grade.Study for your final. You need to.Good luck. Also, I'm currently taking that class and doing well in it. If you need help, just comment.
