Who Is A Better Sherlock

Which versions of Sherlock Holmes is better?

I’d rank them:3) Johnny Lee MillerI really hate the portrayal and find his voice too quiet. His accent is off and he is overall a really annoying presence. He never comes across as smart, always seems to be badly imitating Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal and he also doesn’t look the part at all!2) Robert Downey JrThis portrayal, although better, seems too egocentric and in A Game Of Shadows he comes off as borderline psychotic. His accent isn’t very good either although it doesn’t distract me as much as it does others. It was good of them to show that he is a good fighter because in the original stories he is often mentioned to be a good boxer and that’s something that few adaptations actually capture.1) Benedict CumberbatchFinally a great version of the character! He’s a quick talking, funny, flawed and cool character all at the one time. He has the best voice for the role and looks like Holmes more than the other two. Although not being the closest portrayal of the character to ACD’s creation, I do prefer him and find him vastly more entertaining. It’s a wonderful performance and shouldn’t be considered of the same level as RDJ and JLM.The real best Holmes-es are:5) Robert Stephens4) Jeremy Brett3) Peter Cushing2) Basil Rathbone1) Benedict Cumberbatch

L vs sherlock who is better?

I'd pick Sherlock Holmes any day. Although I also like L and his detective work, Sherlock Holmes would always be my favorite detective. He can even solve same minor cases just by hearing a few details of it. As for major cases, I like the fact that he does all of them personally and really delve into the devil's lair. Although he does receive help, it's only from Watson but he still solves majority of the case. I also like the fact that he's more hands-on, whereas L depends too much for other people even for trivial tasks.

Like the guy above said, Sherlock isn't afraid to face any enemy any day (you can find him at 221B Baker Street for all he cares). And without Sherlock, I don't know where Detective Conan would be right now.

What is better, Sherlock Holmes TV series or book?

The Sherlock Holmes stories created by Arthur Conan Doyle is far different from that of TV Series. What you would find in the book is classic Sherlock Holmes in contradiction to modern Sherlock Holmes which is shown on TV series. Neverthless the characteristics of the character Sherlock Holmes is same in both aspects but with different stories. So if you haven't watched series so far I suggest you go for the book first. The TV version is good too but it has some traits of an action movie, despite that you would love watching Benedict cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. He just played sherlock holmes as described by conan doyle. I watched the series first and when I was reading the book, he was the one that came on to my mind as sherlock holmes. That explains how he best portrayed it!In book version you can expect twist and turns in every page, how sherlock unraveled mysteries in olden days, whereas you can’t see that type of stories in tv series. The makers just took the outline and embellished them with more of a drama and action elements. So go and read an authentic classic Sherlock Holmes in book and watch the modern one in TV series!

Sherlock Holmes - A better spy than James Bond?

FIRST OFF I REALISE SH IS NOT A SPY, THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION.

Does anyone else think he could be? I mean he's almost undebateably more intelligent, his quick thinking and reasoning abilities are beyond comparison to basically any other fictional character. He has the ability to be charming, like Bond, but also like him, he is very emotionally detatched and logical. Holmes is seemingly limitlessly devoted to his occupation of gathering and deducing information and taking down criminals and never stops to smell the roses. He is also a master of boxing, bartitsu, cane, sword, riding crop and is a crack shot. He is also a master of disguise. He is willing to resort to grey areas of law and morality in order to solve a case.
