Who Is Funnier Mad Tv Or Snl

SNL or Mad TV?

Well I like them both.Im afraid to say mad tv cuz everybody else said snl.LOL But I do find them both funny. Also I guess it depends on the cast because when mad tv had there first cast it was great now it kind of simmered down. Snl has been around for a while so it has devoted viewers and it also has a good cast. And on Snl you get guest stars and if there's one thing I know people love to watch stars make a fool outta themselves on live tv.LOL

Whats the funniest Mad TV or SNL skit ever?

Well you really can't compare the 2 of them. I am a fan of the old SNL Cast (from the beginning to about 1995) and im a fan of Mad TV (From 1999 to present).

The best SNL skits will either have to the be the many commercials that they did (Colon Blow, Hedley & Wyche: The British Toothpaste, Lil' Chocolate Donuts, etc) or Celebrity Jeopardy.

The best Mad TV skits have to be anything with Kenny Rogers (the modern ones like Kenny Rogers' Jackass and Punk'd). The parody of R'Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" (Called "Trapped in the Cupboard") was also really good. The John Madden Skits are great as well.

Overall, It is hard to pick a fave skit from either one.

What are some of the funniest SNL skits to date?

Well, one that has really stuck with me is where they have William Shatner at a Star Trek convention. At the Q&A , fans start asking him REALLY obscure questions like ‘How many horses on your ranch ? ‘ and ‘What was the combination to the ships safe ?”After a few moments ,he says he would like to say something……“GET A LIFE PEOPLE !! YOU HAVE TURNED A VERY ENJOYABLE JOB THAT I DID A LONG TIME AGO INTO A COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME !! LIKE YOU WITH THE EARS,YEAH YOU !!! YOU EVER KISSED A GIRL ?? (fan looks down at the ground)I DIDN’T THINK SO !!! GET OUT OF YOUR PARENTS BASEMENTS AND GROW THE HELL UP !! ITS JUST A TV SHOW!!!!”A fan asks if he means they” should just pay attention to the movies ?”“NO !!!THATS NOT WHAT I’M SAYING AT ALL !! YOU ARE ALL WASTING YOUR LIVES!!!! “Theres a bit more, but I thought this sketch had been brewing in someones mind for decades .Probably every trek actor has been tempted to do something like this at a convention at some point.Unfortunately , a lot of fans were greatly offended by this sketch and wanted Shatner blacklisted from conventions .I say if this sketch offended you , then maybe you should really listen to the basic theme. It is a tv show . Do not forget there is a world out there .If this offends you ,you may have a problem .I know Shatner does not have a great record with the fans , but I would glady shake his hand for the guts to do that sketch.

What is funnier- Saturday Night Live or Mad TV?

Question: What is funnier- Saturday Noght Live or MadTV?Technically was would be the correct verb as MadTV was cancelled in 2009.And considering that it always had a smaller budget, that it used comedians who were less well-known than Saturday Night Live’s (SNL) cast, and that it was never given the hype that NBC assigns to SNL on a nearly weekly basis, MadTV comes out be funnier, and often edgier, than Saturday Night Live had been since its inception in the 1970s.Frankly, SNL has not be funny for several decades. It’s been coasting on fumes and nostalgia for years and yet no one wants to admit it as it’s a cornerstone of NBC weekend programming and has been since the 1980s. The series continues to limp along, using safe material delivered by middling range comedians and comedic actors and receiving hearty chuckles from Baby Boomers and Gen X’ers who grew up and spent their young adulthood watching the better versions of the series.MadTV, although disjointed in its writing and unable to retain many of its funniest performers for any lengthy of time, managed to elect real laughs for most of its 13 seasons. The series tried a number of things which were edgy and somewhat daring, it introduced comedians and comedic actors to the public who normally wouldn’t have had the opportunity (looking at you Alex Borstein, Will Sasso and Phil LaMarr) to become successful. And it genuinely tried to have fun with its limitations of budget and sponsorship. It put in the work and that often shows.Had Fox decided to pump real money into the program, hired some of the top names at the time (Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, Stephen Colbert, Greg Giraldo, Mitch Hedberg, etc.) it really could have become a serious contender. The show certainly had some decent writers and it could elicit some of the best improv work out there (I would advise that people watch the show’s Red Carpet interviews, especially those with Borstein and Will Sasso for some of the best improvisations of their time).MadTV lost out to SNL because (again) NBC was behind (and remains behind) SNL nearly 100%. Fox simply wanted to capture ratings in that time slot and their efforts (or lack thereof) made that abundantly clear. MadTV was certainly funnier; however Fox didn’t want “funny”. They wanted dollars, but didn’t want to spend any to get them.

Why do you think SNL floated and MadTV sunk?

“MadTV” was prerecorded and had a West Coast vibe to it while “SNL” is a weekly LIVE event. That said, during that era, “MadTV” was funnier often, but once DVRing became standard and “appointment TV” became a thing of the past, “MadTV” seemed even less special. Without the live element, was it really that important to catch?“SNL” had many lean years, but was able to survive as a live institution similar to pro sports. It is an important aspect of NBC’s New York culture. It brings in tourists. It plays well the next day on YouTube. It is an “event” people talk about at the water cooler at work. How do you get rid of that? And then “SNL” found a new niche with politics. “MadTV” didn’t have the same voice or gravity.

Hilarious skit on either SNL or Mad TV ?

There was a really funny skit I saw, but can't remember whether it was on SNL or Mad TV. I saw it a few years ago, but it might have been a rerun. It looked pretty recent, like maybe within the last 5 years or so.

It was a guy that worked at a Starbucks type place and was constantly drinking coffee. He had crazy eyes and was really hyper and always moving around and knocking things over and talking about how great coffee is, how he doesn't need to sleep, etc.

If anyone else saw this, do you remember which show it was on, and what the skit was called?
