Humans, or human beings, are bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens (Latin for "wise man" or "knowing man") under the family Hominidae (the great apes).[1] Humans have a highly developed brain capable of abstract reasoning, language and introspection. This, combined with an erect body carriage that frees their upper limbs for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make greater use of tools than any other species.

Like most primates, humans are by nature social. However, humans are particularly adept at utilizing systems of communication for self-expression and the exchange of ideas. Humans create complex social structures composed of co-operating and competing groups, ranging in scale from nations to individual families, and social interaction between humans has established a variety of traditions, rituals, ethics, values, social norms, and laws which form the basis of human society. Humans also have a marked appreciation for beauty and aesthetics which, combined with the human desire for self-expression, has led to cultural innovations such as art, literature and music.

Humans are also noted for their desire to understand and influence the world around them, seeking to explain and manipulate natural phenomena through science, religion, philosophy and mythology. This natural curiosity has led to the development of advanced tools and skills; humans are the only known species to build fires, cook their food, clothe themselves, and use numerous other technologies.

What are the powers of human brain that most of us dont know?

It is mind that generates the desire or triggers the brain to function , use external and internal environment for the activities in our daily life. The brain of humans and living beings have the power to enable breathing heart beat operste the bodies waste removing systems maintain the body temperature in equlibrium maintain the boilogical clock and develop a electro magnetic field to interact with the mind and consciousness.Brain is made up of 5 basic elements of the earth. It is left in the dead body when the consciouness leaves the body along with the soul mund and memory. The powers of the mind are many to state a few telepathy , television , mind reading , vashicarna, distance healing , time travel etc all these are possible to be done by us . Immagination of the sadhaka with janna of tantra sidhis mastery these are called sidhas. The level of purity attained by intense practice to attain perfection , controlled living , complete control on ones emotions and feelings.Kindl know that karma phala knowldge is very importsnt before we try these .

What is the limit of human mind?

the memory unit of the mind stores 3d images/sounds/smells etc arranged/recorded in orderly time sequences. you want to recall something, then you yourself generate a serie of chemical/quanta instructions that are sent to the neuro transmissors, indeed you are invoking the past, you are travelling to the past, even you can relive past events and analyze them. these memories being reanalyzed can even change or influence something in your present time. your mind can travel again to the present in an instant-lapsus (just the instant that separates memories that were stored during years), this means also that you (your mind) can “time travel from the past to the present. and this “transit” from the past memories to the present status should be considered a kind of “trajectory towards a known future”. the end of this “peculiar transit” is when the mind returns to the present again. the mind imports the vibrations from the outside environment and makes/is able/is allowed to perform its own inner-configuration (establishing a range of cycles per second = the brainwave patterns = beta, alpha, theta and delta. each frequency produces different state of consciousness
Our human mind's concept of a photon as a physical entity and also the concept of distance and time as physical entities is the issue. "Light" is how our mind visualizes electro magnetic energy and due to the limitations of our symbolic thought process, to make this understandable our mind concieves light, time and distance as physical

What qualities make us human?

I don't think its healthy to view ourselves as that different from animals. If you really spend time with a cat, a dog, even a chinchilla, you'll know what I mean. We operate mainly on animal instincts too.

What makes us distinctly human is our heavy restraining of our animal instincts, and sometimes complete abstinence. In certain situations, we push the carnal self to the side, so to speak, to take care of other things we judge to be more important.

And there's a lot in that word. Judge. We are human because we judge.

And also because you can read these words I am typing.

And also for the fact you know how to surf the internet.

C.S. Lewis, a theologian, talks about the repression of the carnal self in his book Mere Christianity (you don't have to be Christian to appreciate it).

Whats the difference between body and mind?

body is just another material you can find in this world. look at the chair in your room, desk and all other stuff. trees, plants, and ofcourse, other's bodies. try to find the difference between them and your body. your body is just another material but it is the one connected to your mind.

What is the one thing that makes you human?

The intelligent mind separates human from other species which is so evident and simple. This mind many times take human in much lower ladder from animals or other species.Other species keep following to live in nature and maintain harmony with nature. The nature is summation of lives or any living species and includes other life component like, vegetation, water, environment, earth and every natural resources. The greatest quality of human be humanity but presently we generally are quite far from such spirit as on the present state of evolution. We live in selfish world and find satisfaction within our known set of people or community or nationality and so on but this equation is changing rapidly with expansion of technology and global connectivity for economical reason at personal level and national level.Yet one thing that makes human is the knowledge of immortal spirit we possess within and same is present in every other human and the spirit in its pure form has same quality. So it is love and compassion we have in nature tries to see all equal;Giving due respect and humility enables to build mutual trust and soEthical way of living is always spreading fragrance the feeling of HUMANITY.

Why do humans need sleep?

who knows!

studies show that people that get less than 6 or more than 9 hours of sleep a night have a 30% higher death rate than people that get 7-8 hours. they are not sure why. I've also heard that you need to sleep when it's dark out. people who work the graveyard shifts or have abnormal sleeping schedules also have a higher, early death rate. I know that certain hormones are produced during sleep. i've heard of them being called "healing hormones" -as in helping your immune system, which could explain why people who get the right sleep live longer. but i'm no scientist.
so we don't know exactly what happens during sleep, but we do know that we need it to live healthy, long lives!

Are you a human being? What makes you a human being?

Yes, I am a human being. I have the ability to use reason to understand my experiences. I am aware that as a human being I have a degree of autonomy over my thoughts and actions. I feel pain, joy and sorrow. I have an imagination and the cognitive abilities like counting, reading symbols and writing down my ideas. I attribute meaning to my life and the universe I dwell in. I ask Q's and try to find and develop good answers to those Q's. I have the ability to lie to myself and others. I can deny or disavow things. I can make promises and swear oaths. I feel guilt and shame and regret and awe. I have a moral conscience and make decisions based on values and rules. I know that some members of my species are cruel and kill for pleasure and sport rather than out of the necessities of survival and self-defense. I remember and I forget, and I can learn and teach by trans-genetic forms of communication(ie culture). I can think philosophically and scientifically. I love Art. I think in concepts that are formed by reflection like the ideas and ideals of Truth, Beauty, Goodness, liberty Justice, and Equality. I think in opposites and I am aware of contradictions and paradoxes in my thoughts. I know ignorance is curable and prejudices over race, gender, and class are too, and I know they are self-limiting errors of thought and cognitive and moral barriers to becoming a better, wiser human. I believe there is Good and Evil, Love, Suffering, and Hate. I expect to die some day and the expecting part is most definitely a human trait.

But the #1 reason I think that I am a human being is the observation that I have the quality or ability that most, if not all, humans have to doubt everything even their own existence. I am in synch with Rene Descartes and other skeptics before and since him on this matter.

Based on the above, I have to add to my list of things that make us human beings the observation that it is the infinite number of possible & actual qualities and abilities that we humans exhibit that make us a unique life form different from all other life forms.
