Who Is Microphone Mike

How do I make my Blue Yeti microphone louder?

Keep the mike nearer to your mouth so your voice is louder at the mike, relative to background noise.
That's it.

For high-noise environments you need either a noise-cancelling headset mike or a "stage" style hand mike.

For info & re. the other answer - a blue yeti just uses basic electret mike capsules in a flashy casing - it's not a "true" condenser mike.

Any studio _style_ mike has higher sensitivity than a hand mike as it is intended to be used at a distance from the singer/speaker in a low noise environment.

By contrast, stage-style hand mikes are intended to be virtually touching your mouth to give the highest possible ratio between the wanted sound and the background noise.

Where is the microphone of my iPhone located?

Some of the other answers are ok, but not complete. The number and locations of iPhone microphone(s) depend on the iPhone model:iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 7 and 7 Plus have 4 microphones.iPhone 6s:iPhone 7:iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, SE, 6 and 6 Plus have 3 microphones.iPhone SE:iPhone 4 and 4s have 2 microphones. All older iPhones include a single microphone. Two are located either side of the lightning connector at the bottom edge of the iPhone. The microphone on the left where the headphone jack used to be has been there since the original iPhone. Since the iPhone 6S there's now also one behind the grille on the right next to the speaker, which also sits behind the grille. There's another microphone located on the back between the True Tone flash and the camera. One more microphone sits in the earpiece (receiver) of the iPhone. These two were introduced with the iPhone 5 and reduce ambient noise during phone calls when you're holding the receiver to your ear. These additional microphones were introduced during the iPhone 5 keynote, so they've been there by the time you originally asked the question in 2015.All these microphones are used for reducing ambient noise (which is slightly different from noise cancellation) and beam forming to detect the location of the sound source. Only one will be selected for recording sound based on clarity and proximity to the sound source. You can control this noise reduction for phone calls by going to (in iOS 10): Settings > General > Accessibility, then scrolling to the Hearing section and toggle the Phone Noise Cancellation switch. When you record a video with the rear facing camera the rear microphone would be picked, but since iOS 10 another microphone will also be selected because it records video in stereo. All microphones are listening to the “Hey Siri” command, if enabled.

How do I hook up a microphone to my computer.?

just hook it to the Microphone port on your computer. Generally, it's in the back next to your speaker port (it's the pink one).

Go to control panel>sounds and audio devices. click the audio tab and then the volume button at the bottom. Make sure the microphone is NOT muted and the volume is turned up. If you don't see the microphone in the volumes properties, click the options menu then properties and click the checkbox for the microphone, so that it shows up in the audio properties.

What is the difference between Headphone with built-in microphone and Headphone with out it?

If an earphone has a built-in microphone then while receiving any call, you can directly use the earphone's mic which will be very close to your mouth to talk to the other person(s). The other person's voice can be either heard through the earphones or the phone speaker. If no built-in mic is present though you can pick up a call on your phone and listen to the voice on the other side through your earphones, you cannot talk through the earphone. You have to take your mouth near the phone's in-built microphone and talk through that.Built-in earphones has the advantage of coming handy when you are listening to any songs and you have to receive any calls. You can receive or reject calls using the microphone button provided and talk over it without having to reach for the cell phone once.Ofcourse the built-in microphone will cost you a little more than the standard model without mic. But for SONY EX110LPQ, the price you have to pay extra is just Rs 200/-. The one having the mic has the name MDR110AP and comes at Rs 800/- in Amazon.inI suggest you purchase the Sony Ex150 (without mic) at Rs700/- ( available in Amazon.in ) for better performance. The EX150AP (with microphone) will cost you Rs 900/- or 1000/- in Amazon.

Why does Mike Portnoy uses a hanging microphone instead of an anchor microphone?

The short answer is “because that's what he wants.”When a musician tours at the level MP is on, everyone on stage has their own tech. The relationship between the tech and the musician is very close. As someone's tech you get to know all their habits. You know the basics like what drinks they want on stage, to every cue they have in the show. As a drum tech, during the show you don't have much to do, so if the musician asks you to learn all their cues and move their microphone every time they want it, you do it! You will go out of your way to find the musician a stand they like, and rig up some way that it can move repeatably. That's the job of the roadie! From a technical point of view, a microphone an anchor would use is called a “lavalier” microphone and they are extremely sensitive. If you've ever had you head next to a cymbal when it's hit, you know it's a lot louder than a human voice. If he had a lavalier mic, it would pretty much just be another “overhead” (the mics used mainly to pick up cymbals). You wouldn't be able to hear his voice much, if at all.You need a dynamic and highly directional mic as close as possible to the drummers mouth to try and keep the spill from the cymbals (and the drums) to a minimum. But as a fairly energetic drummer this would get in his way if it were there all the time, so he has his tech move it out of the way when he's not using it.

Why does Mike Greenberg put his mouth so close to his microphone???

A great many radio types do that in order to get a little extra pop. That's why windscreens (foam covering) are so popular.

Why do the words “mic” and “Mike” have the same pronunciation even though they’re spelled differently?

When the last letter “e” of a word is silent (that is, not pronounced) and is preceded by a consonant preceded by a vowel, the general rule is that the vowel is long, as in “Mike”.The word “mic” is an abbreviation of the word “microphone” in which the first vowel is long. Thus, both words are pronounced alike for different reasons.

Why do standup comedians still use microphones in their hands instead of using an overhead set?

There’s a couple of reasons for that, both psychological and physical:When standing in front of an audience it can be sometimes intimidating and unnatural for the starting comedian and so, every sanctuary will be strongly embraced to overcome fear or anxiety. So… a microphone is a good way to keep your hands occupied when you don’t know what the hell you do with them. While masking your face will be comforting, you facial expressions will not transfer to your audience and so, a simple microphone - covering a portion of your face - will do.A microphone on it’s own is a great tool to let your audience to know exactly what are you about to do for example:Dropping the mic when you got to your punch line.Leaving your mic aside while mimicking some known figure’s gestures. The sounds you can produce with a regular microphone are more versatile than the sound overhead sets can produce. For example:Taping your mic to make this bassy ‘Boom’ sound.Pushing the mic from you while screaming can sound more convincing.Placing the mic closer to your mouth will make the impression you’re closer to a given situation or can be used in order to whisper and make it more ‘dramatic’.Even the microphone chord sometimes can be useful. Depending on what you want to ‘get’ from it.Sure, you can still see standup comedians talking to a microphone on a stand but notice that they will, eventually, take the microphone out of the stand and start walking around with it.In conclusion, an overhead set is used when you need to sing and dance to the rhythm or in order to press a button while speaking with a presentation behind you but when you try to tell a story, a funny story in particular, you want as much control as you can get in order to convince and entertain your audience.Hope it was useful :)
