Who Is More Popular Daniel Bryan Now Or Cm Punk In 2011

Is John Cena more popular than CM Punk and Daniel Bryan?

I’d say Daniel Bryan is more popular than both of them. The ‘Yes Chant’ movement has been like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Only Stone Cold’s reception or the ‘You Suck’ Kurt Angle chants compare (but don’t equal).John Cena has never done anything to receive such a pop like DB gets. Same goes with Punk (I was never a really big fan of his, honestly… just overrated in my opinion). Now, Cena probably does earn the company significantly more money, I don’t think anyone would be surprised by that. But DB is universally popular as an ‘everyman’ / regular guy type of character. Him being cleared and returning to wrestling is gigantic news.

How did DAniel bryan become so Popular?

The Yes Chant was a BIG factor in his rise to superstardom. Before that, he was just a good technical wrestler. He didn't really have much of a character. When he won the WHC he started becoming this obnoxious hippie who was a neglectful boyfriend to AJ Lee. He then transitioned into an underdog when he went face to face with The Authority.

As much as people want to say that the reason why he rose to fame was because fans wanted to rebel against WWE because they wasn't pushing the right talent, I have to disagree. There is a larger number of people who aren't smarks. They aren't aware who is Vince McMahon's hand picked guys are. They typically cheer the faces and boo the heels. So when you have an underdog going up against the top heel, who do you think the fans will cheer for?

Who is better, Daniel Bryan or CM Punk? Why?

CM Punk:Best In The WorldCM Punk seemed like a dangerous guy with a  rebellious attitude. He could counter Cena in popularity, the kind which deserved merit. On the other hand, all of Daniel Bryan's matches are more or less the same. 1. He is shown to be the underdog not blessed with the looks & body of a wrestler. But somehow, he always wins. They stretched it so far that they made the entire Wrestlemania 30 about him.2. 70 to 80 per cent of the time is spent in the routine which was once fresh, but is turning stale, just like John Cena.3. The rest of the time is spent in the stupid "Yes Chants". Yes, I called them stupid because that's what they really are. Throwing your hands up in the air and repeatedly yelling a word like a 5 year old does not a true champion make. With CM Punk, there was always the possibility of switching him from heel to face & vice versa. But Daniel Bryan's career is quite similar to John Cena's. They both started out as heels, but became faces and will remain so because they sell merchandise.CM Punk's mic skills were legendary. He could be the guy who could make the crowd support him even when he was the heel. If you don't believe me, take a look. CM Punk always had charisma and did what he wanted, when he wanted. Undoubtedly this era's Stone Cold Steve Austin.Actually, I was one of the few that actually agreed with the whole "B+ player" thing.

Why do some people hate Daniel Bryan?

They are just jealous of his sudden rise. They know he is extremely talented, and don't want him to get a push because he doesn't have "the look". Plus, he beat John Cena. So, of course the kids would start hating him. Just some kids hate him though. not all.

Does John Cena have more supporters than CM Punk and Daniel Bryan?

Daniel Bryan is one of the most over wrestlers of all time. His popularity is up in the stratosphere with Bruno Sammartino, Rick Flair and Andre the Giant.Oft times, the WWE storylines reflect the thinking of Vince McMahon and WWE corporate office. The “B+ player” storyline was a reflection of backstage thinking about Bryan; he was a good wrestler but he was small and “average.” Bryan is nothing like the image of a champion that Vince so appreciates (i.e., Hulk Hogan, Undertaker and Roman Reigns). The plan to squash Bryan was real but so was the resistance, “The Yes Movement.”The Yes Movement was an overwhelmingly positive response to the average Joe standing up to corporate bullying. The WWE universe, which is largely blue collar, was completely sympathetic to the frustrations and pains of one man standing up to The Man. Through Bryan standing up to “The Authority,” the people were standing up to their bosses and all the unfairness the work-a-day world. WWE had the wisdom to absorb and integrate the organic popularity of Bryan into their own storytelling. They learned from the reaction to Batista’s taking Bryan’s spot at the 2015 Royal Rumble, that the people would not be denied. When Bryan finally won the WWE Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XXX against seemingly insurmountable odds, the crowd blew the roof off The Superdome. Shortly after winning the strap, Bryan had to abdicate the title due to injuries. The sympathy levels for him sealed him in memory as one of the greatest champions. Now that he has fought back - again against what seemed to be insurmountable (real life) odds - he stands higher on the mountain than ever before. While Cena is one of the greatest WWE champions ever, and CM Punk one of the best of his generation, they had fervent but divided fan worship. Bryan is on a higher plane of fan adoration.

Why does WWE keep screwing over Daniel Bryan?

IMO, the reason the WWE higher-ups are not high on Daniel Bryan is because of several reasons. One is his size. Bryan does not have the height that Vince McMahon and company look for (they tend to favor bigger, stronger guys which is why guys like John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, and Big Show get pushed more). The other reason is that Bryan doesn't draw as much as Cena and Orton (in other words, he doesn't make enough money for the WWE). Just my two cents.

How great was Cm Punk?

As a performer, he was very versatile in the ring & on the mic. He also did accomplish a lot....
He held the WWE Champion for 434 days and no superstar on the current roster has been able to beat it.
It didn't seem like he was a "fake" person; he expressed himself fully.

With that being said, as a person, he IS unprofessional & somewhat of a jerk. It wasn't professional of him to walk out of the company....
They originally were going to have him face HHH at Wrestlemania 30, but gave his plans over to Daniel Bryan after he left.

Bryan did a better job at paving the way for guys such as AJ Styles & Sami Zayn to make it big in WWE.
He's someone that most of people would consider to be an "underdog", even if he was compared to Punk.

In real life, CM Punk is also not nice to some of his fans, which I'm kinda amazed by because his fans make it vocal that they do love him. To this day, I still hear "CM Punk" chants whenever there's a Raw, Smackdown, NXT, or PPV show going on...yet I've heard about him throwing merchandise in the trash because he didn't want to sign anything or cussing at the fans.
They've made it clear that they want to see him, and if he's acting like an asshole to those fans, it could completely change some of the fans' perspective on him as a person.
Without them, he wouldn't be nearly as famous as he is right now.

I watched MTV's "Champs vs Pros" and he has matured a bit, but I still wouldn't consider him to be one of my favorites.

Is he the best WWE superstar of all time? No.
Is he one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time and was a very unique character? Yes.

What's up with all these cm punk troll?

Its called counter attack. But yeah, it should stop.

Why do people hate John Cena while they love CM Punk?

It's a common story of the defender of the status quo and the rabblerouser who wants to shake it up. The fans connect more with CM Punk's storyline than John Cena's. Cena originally was this indie wrestler who rose up in the ranks by taking on the status quo as an underdog, eventually gaining the industry's biggest prize, the WWE Championship. Then he kept winning and losing the belt over and over again. This went on for over a decade, and as talents came and went from the company, Cena's reign rose while his reputation fell with the older fans. Kids love him. His merchandise sells millions. John Cena is the face of the WWE.CM Punk was the face of the fans.Punk had always projected this arrogance that he was better than you and me in the ring and wasn't afraid to say what was on his mind about the industry. He was a draw in every area, but he wasn't going to be corporate. Punk was never going to be "the man," but he followed his narrative. And Punk's narrative made him an outsider who sees the hypocrisy of the company he's in.A company that has an anti-bullying campaign yet celebrates bullying tactics from their figureheads, the heels, and especially John Cena. A company that would rather have a hulking beast with no wrestling skills than a smaller technical wrestler who could grapple with the best of them. A company built on a legacy of wrestling yet rarely says the word "wrestling" and refuses to call their wrestlers "wrestlers" but rather "Superstars" and "Divas." A company whose biggest draw and moneymaker is always portrayed as an underdog despite the fact that he's a (at the time of this writing) 15-time world champion. Punk represents the fans who are smart enough to look behind the curtain of professional wrestling and pay attention to what happens off camera while Cena is corporate, an embodiment of "the man" who masquerades as a voice of the people. The fans feel that Punk was bullied out of the company and feel that a similar wrestler, Daniel Bryan, has been written off by the company because he doesn't fit the mold of what the WWE wants. That's why the fans hate Cena while still remaining fans of CM Punk.
