Cameron's a bit guilty with the Terminator franchise of doing the same, and Lucas has milked Star Wars more than an Iowa farmer's favorite cow. Peter Jackson and Clint Eastwood have also looked at money over substance. Actually, the directors with the best portfolios of retaining their visual flare while making money and winning awards include the Coen Brothers, David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino, Bryan Singer, and Darren Aronofsky. Polansk also makes the cut, and Woody Allen is the very best at keeping his vision while continuously being prolific, acclaimed, and making a dime.
