Who Is Voting Thumbs Up Or Thumbs Down To My Question I Thought I

Do you get points for voting thumbs up or down?

No, you don't get points for voting thumbs up or down.
Just personal satisfaction/gratification.

Why can't I give someone a thumbs down vote?

As said, in an election you can give a thumbs down best by going to vote, make your own box that says “none of the above” and tick it. It’s called spoiling the ballot. That way they know you are someone who bothers to vote, but dislikes the choices. Sends a better message than not going to vote, methinks…But, if you mean here on Quora, there is a downvote option. Just remember though, that it’s not there to voice your dislike of the answerer’s opinion, but to critique the answer itself for being written badly or for not answering the question properly, or for being abusive or disrespectful.

Do you think Senator McCain voted thumbs down on repealing Obama Care just to spite Donald Trump?

“Do you think Senator McCain voted thumbs down on repealing Obama Care just to spite Donald Trump?”A2A.No. Of course this is speculation to some extent as he is not around any more to ask. It is, however, based on fact.Although Mr. Trump’s bill was touted as “repeal and replace,” the bill truly did not contain a “replacement” component. This troubled Senator McCain from all accounts. In fact, Mr. Trump made many promises during his campaign to come up with a replacement for the ACA. Once in office he promised to come up with a replacement after repealing of the ACA. Here we are almost two and a half years after his election and he still has yet to deliver his long-promised ACA replacement. This is like him saying, “Buy this used car from me, then we’ll talk about a mechanic’s inspection and a warranty.” The most recent promise is that we’ll be told about the replacement plan after the 2020 election. Why should we believe this nonsense now after being lied to about it for so many years, while Mr. Trump had a Republican majority in both houses of Congress?Various reputable news sources, including the “bible of American conservatism,” the National Review, report that the “skinny repeal” bill was released to the public only two hours before the scheduled midnight vote, and that Republicans such as Rand Paul, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski were at least as if not more effective in killing the bill as Senator McCain. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called the bill a “fraud.” Here is a link so you can read about it in greater detail:Trump Can’t Blame the Repeal-and-Replace Debacle Solely on McCain | National ReviewOddly enough, Mr. Trump isn’t vilifying any of these people, other than the late Senator, even though they were equally if not more responsible for the bill’s death. Why? Because Senator McCain is dead and can’t fight back. What do you call a man such as Mr. Trump who picks a fight with a dead man? A coward. If you have a better word for his conduct, please share it.

What happens if I don't give thumbs up or thumb down for a song on Pandora?

The song remains neutral in the channel and might be played again later (depending on votes from other songs). I sometimes don't vote songs because I don't want that song influencing the channel or I don't dislike it enough to have it never played again.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Yahoo Answers?

So when you answer a persons question. Users above level 2 are allowed to vote on your answer. If you get a thumbs down does that affect you points (level) ? If you get voted thumbs up does that give you points? If so how many?

Thumbs Down on Yahoo! Answers?

Does anyone else get really ticked off when someone gives you a thumbs down on one of your answers? I think "gosh, these people are so bitter! Don't they have anything better to do than criticize people?"

Why can't I vote thumbs up or down on NEWS articles comments? Sometimes I can and other times the arrow spins?

I posed the question earlier and everyone who responded thought I meant on this Yahoo Answer site which I was not aware existed. I specifically mean voting with thumbs up or down on NEWS articles like comments about current NEWS events like the oil spill or van der Sloot, I have my Yahoo home page set up with top headlines from 10 different new sourcs like AP or Reuters. /After I read the news I read the comments. If I want to give a thumbs up or down, sometims the arrow just spins and spins and then no vote and there is an error message at the bottom of the screen in my status bar that says error on page. Sometimes I can vote and the thumbs up or down shows up immediately and other times it doesn't even acknowledge my vote. I hit refresh over and over but still am unable to vote. I am able to post replies and comments with no problem. I just am not always able to vote on the NEWS articles with a thumbs up or down. I hope I made myself clear this time.

Does downvoting a comment on YouTube even do anything?

The down-vote or “thumbs down” button is a remnant of the days before Youtubes comment section was linked to Google+.The up-voting is technically now just a +1 on Google+ and since there is no “thumbs down” on Google+ the remnant is a design choice by Google to have a thumbs up and a matching thumbs down. Also while there is currently no way to see down-votes, they are all recorded (As Googles mandate is to collect all available information there is), so therefore may one day be added to the Google+ or Youtube API(Application Programming Interface). As Andrew Meyer stated in his comment from a quote of the Official Youtube Blog.“the rate of dislikes on comments has dropped by more than 35 percent across YouTube.”Full Quote:First off, we’ve improved the ranking system that reduces the visibility of junk comments. It’s working—the rate of dislikes on comments has dropped by more than 35 percent across YouTube. [1]Would show that less people are using it because they see no affect, and therefore have no motive to use it. Which gives bad data as a result. (I myself no longer use the comment down-vote: even tho I know it is stored somewhere as it has no immediate effect).Footnotes[1] Keeping the conversation going

Yahoo answers! thumbs up thumbs down? what do they mean?

Get 250 pts. and you'll be on level 2. Then you can "rate" answers with "thumbs up" and "thumbs down." Just click on the “thumbs up” icon to give someone a “thumbs up” and show you approve of or like their answer; same but reverse meaning with “thumbs down,” click on the icon to show you disapprove or don’t like the answer.. It doesn’t cost you any points to “rate” an answer but, once you do rate, you’re stuck with that rating. You can’t later change your mind and decide they don’t deserve the “thumbs up” or have regrets about giving a “thumbs down.” They’re forever.

Stars are ways to show approval for questions. You click on the star icon to give a star, click on the same place to remove your star after you give it. No points involved..

Answer a question and get 2 pts. Ask a question and lose 5 pts. Choose the "best answer" to your question and get 3 of those 5 pts. back. Be chosen as "best answer" and get 10 pts. plus 1 bonus pt. for each "thumbs up" your answer received. There’s no deduction for “thumbs down.”

Anyone, even people on level 1, can "vote" but it's not the same as "rating" with thumbs up/down.

Vote for "best answer" on unresolved questions “in voting” and you get 1 pt. per question. You can vote by clicking on the “answer” toolbar at the top of the page then click on the “vote” tab or, when you see the list of questions available in a particular category, there’s a “vote” tab at the top of the questions. Either way, if you vote then you earn a point per question and help pick the “best answer.”

You also get 1 pt. every day for just logging in. It’s as easy as that!

Good luck, you'll be on level 2 in no time and then aim for level 3 (1,000 to 2,499 pts.)
