What kind of license do i need to start a strip club?

Actually, anyone who applies for and receives a business license for this type of operation could open it up. However, expect to receive a lot of resistance from the surrounding neighborhood. Among other obstacles, expect to run up against ordinances restricting the opening of such a business within a certain distance of schools or parks. Also, assuming the area you're considering allows the business, you'll also have to consider what type: here in California, you can serve alcohol (with a liquor license) and have girls strip down to a G-string. But if they're totally nude, no alcohol is permitted (sometimes called an adult juice bar).

The girls hired to work there mostly likely would be independent contractors (on a 1099); the clubs have them pay a daily fee for the privilege of doing their thing, and anything they clear in excess of that amount they keep. This keeps liability and the number of employees to a minimum - the business makes money whether or not the girls do. You'd also have to hire DJ's and front door guys - I don't know about security. And you'd have to have a facility that could be converted to accomodate the business - tenant improvements could be costly. Of course, you'd also have to have sufficient parking available.

You've got a lot of due diligence ahead of you, just like you would with any proposed business.

By the way - I'm a banker and I just had someone last week with a business like this inquire about a refinance loan, so I have been thinking about the business in general. Good luck.

Real Estate in India: "Bachelors are not allowed as tenants". Can any society in India make such a rule and ban bachelors (sometimes boys only)? If not, what legal actions can be taken against such societes?

This issue has got a social as well as a legal angle to it. Since I am a layman and not an expert on Law, I may not be competent to address the legal angle with any amount of certitude, and am myself eager to see what experts have to say in this matter. Sadly, Indian society still remains most of the times a closed one with clannish mindset and claustrophobic views. It is not uncommon to see, particularly in Non-metropolitan cities and towns, owners refusing to let their houses/apartments on rent to persons of certain communities or castes, and to certain sections of populations like bachelors or single women. Though this certainly reeks of some backward thinking or narrow mindset, I think there may not be a legal remedy against such private owners of property. But in the case of Societies or Associations in the public domain, which are governed by certain rules or bye-laws, and duly registered, I am not clear if such an arbitrary  discrimination is permitted by law, and if it can stand legal scrutiny. As I said in the beginning it is for the experts or practitioners of law to suggest the correct position. I have personally seen that most of these societies/ associations are generally run by some people on a honorary basis, who do not have any professional expertise on such matters,  and these people invariably get carried away by an illusion of power and develop a misplaced sense of self importance. They try to enforce many arbitrary practices in the hope that they would not be effectively challenged. When they are either convinced by polite persuasion, or confronted with questions about the legality of their arbitrariness, they invariably buckle down, and beat a hasty retreat. Most of the time this seems to work, without any real need to go for legal remedies.

How much money do I need to open a small restaurant?

Startup cost for a restaurant can be $40k and it can be $1 million. Let's discuss the lower end figure. If you find a location for rent that is already outfitted as a restaurant something like what you intend to operate you can be on the low end. I opened a burrito shop in 1995 for 25k in an ideal situation with a small location that only needed minor changes. The rent was $1200 per month. My dad put in 20k because he liked the idea of me trying something on my own. Here is a rough outline of my costs. 3000  Used walk-in cooler 500  used chargrill500 used refrigerator500 paint and inexpensive flooring1000 pay for friends to help paint etc. 3600 three months rent, first, deposit, and security3500 up front insurance cost (liability insurance)2000 plumbing (minimal)2000 electrical work (minimal)1500 exhaust system / fire suppression update5000 carpentry - counter area construction1500 food1000 furniture500 admin cost for licenses etc. When we opened we were losing money on operations for about a month.  So I had to ask a few relatives for small amounts of about $500 each. I "sold" part of the company to them for the money.  Later, when I set up a corporation, I made the ownership official.  Those investors made out well, later on, when I eventually bought them out. Our restaurant is counter service burritos. The staff when we opened was no more than three people at a time at first. The most we've spent on a new place was 500k about a year ago. We had a designer and architect and built a fancy burrito shop from scratch inside an empty space.

What do I need to start a banquet hall business?

I want to open a rental hall business. (Texas) I don't know what permits or licenses I need. Where do you go to find out the buildings maximum occupancy? For 6000 sq. ft, I think it would be around 400 people. Maybe it would depend on the setup of the building.

What happens if I get pulled over in a rental car and Im not a registered driver for the car?

The answer is anything from just getting a ticket for the violation you were pulled over for .. .to major troubles with the rental company!

Best case: The officer just cites you for whatever violation they pulled you over for and sends you on your way.

Worst case: The officer confirms that you are not an authorized driver of the car. The rental company has the right to have the car towed to their nearest facility for breach of contract. That rental is terminated, possibly with you 5 hours from home. Your boyfriend (the renter) might find out that he has been added to the "do not rent list" for that company ... and his credit card will be charged for the rental up to the time the car was taken back, plus any fee for early termination, drop at unauthorized station, towing, and any applicable service charges.

Maybe just a ticket ... maybe contractual problems with the rental company that would turn your pleasure trip into a nightmare!

Hiring a bartender for a wedding? how much does this usually cost?

It completely depends:
- a lot of times the venue you rent has bartenders available and if they don't they might have a list of vendors
- a lot of caterers can supply bartenders
- whether or not you can provide alcohol is written in the contract between you and your bartender/catering company
- cost completely depends on who provides the alcohol

other things to keep in mind:
- some cities require a liquor license, if you just hire someone to bartend and then provide alcohol more than likely you'll have to look into obtaining one
- it is considerably cheaper if you can provide your own liquor
