Who Said;great Teams Don

Why would you be a great team member and what sets you apart from other candidates...?

Okay I'm applying for Jack in the Box and this is a question they ask in the application....I can only have 350 characters in my answer

Here is what I have so far

I would be a great team member because I'm a very hard worker, easy to get along with, and very eager to learn. I always do my hardest to be a perfectionist when it comes to my job.

Is this a good answer? Do I need to change it? Do I need to add something? Please help me. Give me some advice to make my answer better, please. I would really appreciate it a lot.

Good teams to watch play the red sox?

I really think whoever they play against he will love that gift. If my girlfriend got me that gift I would be absolutely thrilled haha. I'm seeing the Red Sox against Cleveland and I'm sure it will be a great game. Fenway Park is such a hard park to get tickets in that I say you just concentrate on getting them in general.

Although, in the spirit of the question, I will say that the series I'm seeing against Cleveland will probably be a good one. Also, seeing them against Minnesota would definitely be great too. I would also suggest seeing them against any national league team cause there's just something special about interleague play.

What to say when your boss has let a not-great employee onto the team?

Well, individuals are often "not-great" for a lot of reasons that don't necessarily reflect the individuals ability or potential. Some people thrive in certain environments others don't. Personality conflicts, communications problems, misunderstanding, not receiving credit when credit is due, alienation and personal problems just to name a few are some common reasons an individual may not be an effective team member. Good managers can usually pick up on these things and perhaps your boss see's something with this individual you have overlooked. If my boss had put an individual on a team I work in that was "not-great", assuming it was lack of ability and not something ethical, I would probably ask your boss how he wants to get him trained and perhaps state some areas where he may need improvement. Good managers often bring out the best in people and find ways to make them effective. The best sometimes can even brush of personal problems they have had and find some common ground to work on. Not so great managers will often fire an individual or reprimand them without understanding the individual or the root causes to the individuals not-great. This often becomes a recurring theme with these types of managers and it happens over and over. Depending on the reasons you think this individual is not great can lead to a self serving prophecy situation. With that said, I do not have the characteristics of being a good manager and there are many people I could not work with. Fortunately, I work with a great team and they generally nudge me enough to be better. In the end, that's what teams are for, you must be able to work in a team environment and the best teams usually have team mates that feed off each other in a positive way although that path may be painful.

Which good teams did not make it to the World Cup 2018?

In my opinion the top 2 teams which didn’t qualify for the WC 2018 areItaly:-Probably the best team which didn’t qualify for the 2018 WC. This team had unbelievable defense along with an all time great GK Gigi Buffon. Their midfield was extremely talented with the likes of Verratti,Jorginho & De Rossi etc & in attack they had 2 of the inform strikers in all of Europe Zaza & Immobile but poor tactics of their manager Gian Piero Ventura was the main cause behind this fiasco.Well that is a heartbreaking picture for every football fan.Chile :-What can you say about them after a decent 2014 WC they won back to back Copa Americas but now they fail to qualify for the 2018 WC last time they didn’t qualify for the mega event it was 2006 WC in Germany but this Chile team had some extra ordinary players in their squad like Sanchez & Vidal. But in the end they had very poor qualifying campaign & finished 6th on same points as Peru but with worse goal difference.

Pitches - are VCs interested in "the team"?

Absolutely wrong. The team is the most important factor, from my experience. After I sold my company I went to intern at an israeli VC firm to learn their side of the business. I wanted to see what they look for so I would have a better chance of raising funds my next time around. I'll never forget one of the key pieces of feedback I got there. I was tasked with making a report on an investment opportunity. Frankly, I thought the idea was crap. Unoriginal and no market demand. My report said this in no uncertain terms. One of the key people in the firm sat me down and told me I had forgotten the most important metric: the team. "You have to understand that we don't invest in ideas or in companies. We invest in people."Over time, I realized this was true. Startup teams pivot. Usually 2-3 times. They toss out ideas and create new ones. You never know what the company will be if/when it becomes successful (Mark Zuckerberg was putting a LOT of time into Wirehog because he thought maybe that was as exciting as Facebook...). This is echoed time and time again... Reddit, Twitter, etc. all changed a LOT before succeeding. Hell, YCombinator will now invest in a team without even an idea. Without divulging confidential information, I can tell you that the firm I was interning at put a LOT of focus on the team, their experience, and how well they worked together. A LOT. Good people produce results. Maybe the idea isn't great now, but at least from my experience, good VCs consider the team very carefully, alongside the idea (though if the idea is garbage the team won't make it in the door for a meeting anyways). If the idea is a winner, even better, but a lot of VCs invest in a team's potential.

Why does everyone hate Ovechkin?

I don't hate Ovechkin, although I am not really his biggest fan because he draws too much attention to himself and has a big ego. He goes out to the ice before his teammates, when he scores he is like "everybody look at me." Right down to the tinted visor. If you watch Crosby, he seems happiest when one of his teammates score and let's face it, he is better. The media likes to draw comparisons because they both came in the NHL at the same time and are both superstars.
To answer your question about the fact that Crosby has more points because being surrounded by better talent is off the mark. I do think Crosby would have as many points, yes. Funny how you mention an 18 year old (Staal) who Crosby does not play with, a rookie (Malkin) who Crosby plays with mostly just on the PP and Colby Armstrong who has 11 goals.
The Caps do have guys that can score and they would score more with Crosby. Ovechkin is a shoot first guy. Crosby is a playmaker and thus makes everyone around him better. No way Recchi has 22 goals without Crosby.
Ovechkin leads the NHL by a bit in shots on goal-he has 366. Crosby has 229. So you can see the difference.
I don't think people are gettinng down on or underrating him, they are just saying that he is no Crosby, which he isn't. In 10 years the numbers will really show this and Sidney will still be 2 years younger.
One of the biggest myths is that playing on a good team means more production when in fact, in most cases, especially for young players, it is the opposite because a good young player on a bad team gets more ice time, more PP time etc.

Don't you think the Tottenham Hotspur team and its manager deserved great accolades this 2016-2017 season?

They may “have the hunger,” but they do not have the title. Nor did they bring home any silverware in the Champions League, the Europa League, the FA Cup, or the League Cup. Therefore I would say they are getting exactly the accolades they earned.Credit where credit is due: They finished higher this season than they did last year. However, there are no accolades for a 2nd place finish, near as I can tell.

Which team has the most humble players?

Definitely the Bulls. everyone in their roster is humble, especially rose.

the spurs seem pretty nice, also the sixers are pretty humble too

How do you build an effective team?

Before I write the actual answer for the Q , I would like to tell few things .Some facts about a team :Team can consists of many numbers of members (2–100). For a CEO whole company is one team , for a CTO whole tech team is one team , for a project manager the scrum teams (dev , qa ,product etc) , for a QA Manager Qa team . All are not same and all will have different strengths and weaknessEach team members will have their own lives and aspirations and personal problemsNow to answers the Q :How can I build an effective team ?Know your team as a whole and each one of them individually :What are their IQ and EQ levels and how can you train and guide themWhat are their strengths i.e What is they are good at and weaknesses i.e what they might be able to handle 100%You should make people aspire for perfection not any positionsYou should make sure everyone to feel having your confidence on themProper task segregations and no partialityNo making boss over other nor you act as a bossBy treating urself as one of us so basically when u don’t show ego n behave like a normal team member no one else would dare show any attitude. So make sure you work as one of themFocusing on peoples strengths and not comparing one with the other and improve everyone in their own vicinityWhen ever any task has to be taken up , conveying why should it be done more than what should be doneYou should not take any decision alone , make team as part of that , but anything wrong take blame on to you , not to any one of the team memberYou be individually strong , committed , dedicated , hardworking , skillful , then team will follow youTalk to the team members one on one as frequently as possible as pass feedback constructively and where ever they are lacking guide them regularly to achieve itHave faith on them , that in your absence team can handle things on their ownMake them self sufficient to communicate with anyone in the organizationMaintain an open culture and share knowledge and have the same culture with the team members as wellAll the above I have said with my own experiences !Proud to have a such a great team and thanks to each and everyone :)A glimpse of my team : (2 members are missing)
