What do you think is so special about Despacito that made it the most successful song ever?
Despacito comes under the category of mainstream pop music.I happen to be a music lover and an amateur musician, and I listen to a wide range of music - Indie rock, soft rock, Indian folk, Bengali folk, sufi, songs by tagore, Indian classical, Western Classical, etc to name some - and mainstream pop happens to be the least favourite on my list. However, Despacito is an exception. And trust me, it took me quite some thinking to figure out why I liked the song. The chords used into making the song are very well arranged. Some of the chords used in the song are unconventional - they're not all the usual major and minor chords. Thats impressive, and also offers something slightly different for the ears to hear. The rhythm and the beats are catchy. Really catchy. The song makes me tap my feet and makes me want to get up and dance every time I listen to it.The vocals were pretty good. So were the instruments. There is something about the Spanish language that makes it really cool for the ears to hear - Even though I don't understand anything of what they say. I think the language is catchy since it has this sort of rawness and distinctive flow associated with it.Many songs become hits because the video plays a big role. The girl in the Despacito music video is beautiful. Or at least, I found her to be beautiful. She was not skinny like how they portray women these days. She was fit, was charismatic, confident and had this enchanting smile on her face. Such things never go unnoticed. And I guess it just became more popular when Justin Bieber stepped in. That, I think is one of the things wrong with this world. The song wouldn't have been so popular otherwise. My analysis ends here. :PHope I made sense.

What is so special about The Beatles?
1) Charisma: As young boys, their charisma surged them to popularity apart from the interesting music. Innovative for their times and someones the young can easily relate to. They didn't establish the bad boys image unlike many others- quite the contrary, made themselves likeable- just 4 school boys, assembled to play some really cool music. Went on to be idolized by people of their age. 2) Experimentation: Those were the beginnings. Amateurish but very likeable music. However they were not afraid to experiment with new music, knowing it may mean loss of their fans who liked them for their current style. And in their later albums (beginning from Revolver) they kept on experimenting with new styles, breaking established norms of music. And it was so good, it kept increasing their fan base. Combined all sorts of musical instruments, including Indian classical sitars, tabla with the Western drums, guitars.3) The Music: Simply put, the music. Not some amazing lyrics to be frank, but the music is simply different. Soothing. Psychedelic. In a different league. 4) Counterculture: Like other bands of their time, they embraced counterculture. Indeed due to their popularity, they were seen as defining it. When the wave was entirely in favor of the hippy movement, these charismatic boys who were already being seen as idols were doing just the same. 5) John Lennon: "Beatles is today more popular than the Jesus"He made provocative statements, invited controversy and kept himself in the limelight. He didn't fear his charm fading due to such statements (and thus play protective), he became an important media figure even outside the domains of music. He became an activist for the peace movement, writing songs on it- Imagine, Give Peace a Chance; challenged the US Govt against the Vietnam war, became an icon for the youth. He was correct- he became a God in his own time. And his ruthless assassination ensured he would be immortalized as a legend & the band he represented (which once upon a time had stolen the hearts of so-so many)

What was so special about Michael Jackson that he became so famous and popular?
I am a huge Michael Jackson fan but this is a difficult question to answer so I'll do my best.Well the fact is most pop singers borrow from Michael Jackson. If you turn on that garbage called radio you'll hear someone trying to copy something Michael did.The technical answer is Michael had a one of a kind timber (the sound and texture of his voice) and insanely impressive 5 octave vocal range that he could access, most people only have two and good singers usually have 3. He was also an innovative dancer, the moonwalk is nothing special now but when he did it the entire world saw it for the first time and he looked like god.Another reason was the music that was produced for him. There is little complexity in modern day pop compositions. The world’s youth back in the day were luckier than the youth now. Justin bieber, Drake, the weekend and whoever else we call an artist now just simply don't make music or beats as good as Quincy Jones and the average listener has forgotten what good music is.Seeing how you asked this question you haven't seen his live performances. I don't feel like typing it out because I don't need to. The man put on legendary shows his last tour sold out in less than in hour. The sappy answer is when I listen to him it feels like everything is gonna be fine because we have music. When Michael was a child he grew up in a very abusive home with an awful father ( the kind of man who self promotes the day his son dies). As a child music is all Michael had it was how he bonded with his brothers. Lastly Michael totally wailed as a kid, the way he could sing at such a young age was better than good it was an extraordinary wonder.
