Who is the Archangel Michael?
Who Is Michael the Archangel?THE spirit creature called Michael is not mentioned often in the Bible. However, when he is referred to, he is in action. In the book of Daniel, Michael is battling wicked angels; in the letter of Jude, he is disputing with Satan; and in Revelation, he is waging war with the Devil and his demons. By defending Jehovah’s rulership and fighting God’s enemies, Michael lives up to the meaning of his name—“Who Is Like God?” But who is Michael? At times, individuals are known by more than one name. For example, the patriarch Jacob is also known as Israel, and the apostle Peter, as Simon. (Genesis 49:1, 2; Matthew 10:2) Likewise, the Bible indicates that Michael is another name for Jesus Christ, before and after his life on earth. Let us consider Scriptural reasons for drawing that conclusion.Archangel. God’s Word refers to Michael “the archangel.” (Jude 9) This term means “chief angel.” Notice that Michael is called thearchangel. This suggests that there is only one such angel. In fact, the term “archangel” occurs in the Bible only in the singular, never in the plural. Moreover, Jesus is linked with the office of archangel. Regarding the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 4:16 states: “The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice.” Thus the voice of Jesus is described as being that of an archangel. This scripture therefore suggests that Jesus himself is the archangel Michael.Army Leader. The Bible states that “Michael andhis angels battled with the dragon . . . and its angels.” (Revelation 12:7) Thus, Michael is the Leader of an army of faithful angels. Revelation also describes Jesus as the Leader of an army of faithful angels. (Revelation 19:14-16) And the apostle Paul specifically mentions “the Lord Jesus” and “his powerful angels.” (2 Thessalonians 1:7) So the Bible speaks of both Michael and “his angels” and Jesus and “his angels.” (Matthew 13:41; 16:27; 24:31;1 Peter 3:22) Since God’s Word nowhere indicates that there are two armies of faithful angels in heaven—one headed by Michael and one headed by Jesus—it is logical to conclude that Michael is none other than Jesus Christ in his heavenly role. *This information is taken from Who Is Michael the Archangel? Where did St. Raphael live?
He is an archangel, not a human person, so your questions don't apply. http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php...
Why did Michael betray God?
Ok so I was taught that Michael knew God. Michael was the archangel and second to God. However, he wanted to become higher than God so he rebelled against God and he got kicked out along with the other traitors. You agree with that right? That he KNEW God? I have been doing my own research and I think the essence of knowing God is doing good things right? To know God is basically to become one with God right? Like the same way the son knew the father? They are one, but separate right? Because God=goodness. God is the source of goodness. God IS Goodness. He makes people do good things so that people won't be prideful and claim that they did the good things of their own accord. It was God who prompted them to. Thus God=goodness and knowing God=knowing goodness. Ok so if Michael knew God, shouldn't he know that he couldn't defeat the one who made him? Jesus knew God, and Jesus did what God commanded him to do (which is to save man from sin). So if Michael knew God, why would he betray God? Some may say free-will, but Jesus had free will and he did what he was commanded since he knew God. Wouldn't it also make sense to say that Michael would follow God and not disobey Him through betrayal since he also knew God? Or is Michael really following God? He sacrificed himself to become a source of sin in order to test those who are worthy of God's kingdom? (Though, I don't really think this is the case.) Some people will bash me and say that Michael is the father of all lies etc. and yea I get that. But I have wrestled with this Q and I don't really read the Bible that much. So yea, someone please answer this and not preach please. Just answer it? Thank you all!
How was your experience of being a part of St. Michael's High School, Patna, as a student who joined in class 11?
Hey, I joined michaels in 2011, I attended Don Bosco Academy, Patna and in 10th Boards secured marks which did not fetch me a direct admission to Michaels, so we had to give a test, but the test was too mean for a 10th grade student because it had 11th Maths,Science and Computer questions with No negative marking, So somehow cleared the test and got admitted to Michaels. The first thing you will notice when you enter Michaels is, being a part of brand, but as you spend more days within, that feeling slows down.Very good academic teachers in 11th and 12th. I got Economics section so we had to deal with Pc Das, Nishit Pandey, Gauri Sharma, Karu Lall, Jaya Sahay, Matthew Lucas, to name a few who taught us for 2 years. It has a huge campus, Very Spacy, Good students with brilliant minds, beautiful convent girls too.In 11th you will find physics too tough at your coaching but not at michaels, same goes for organic chemistry.Tell me in comments what you want to know more, I Think this was enough.Proud Michaelite.
What can you tell me about the archangel Michael?
I am not a religious person at all, but I am very in tune with my spirituality. Last night, I had a dream that I was watching the whole sky filled with shooting stars and a very beautiful man was next to me and he called himself the archangel Michael (which I had never heard of before and I thought my subconscious mind was just inventing). He told me that it had something to do with the apocalypse and that I shouldn't worry and I would understand "in due time." He was a very kind "person," and I have never felt such warmth in a dream before. The name stuck with me, so I started Google searching about him and have been shaking ever since. He has to do with the apocalypse which is exactly what he was talking about in my dream. Please tell me everything you know about this angel, because I feel and know that he visited me in a dream and I feel like laughing and crying and much more all at once. This has definitely changed my life and perspective. Thank-you!
How did St. Michael reflect in Jesus' love for the world?
When France was about to be conquered by England, during the 100 Years War, St. Michael --along with Sts. Catherine of Alexandria & Margaret --sent Joan of Arc to lead the French in battle against the onslaught of the English, & although she ended up getting killed in the end, France ended up winning the war, & ultimately their freedom.
How well disciplined are the students in St. Michael's High School, Patna?
Well, I am a michaelite, "once a michaelite, always a michaelite".I spent two years in the school, classes 11th and 12th, and was a student in the mathematics(computer) section.Discipline is the most discussed and debated topic in St. Michael's. While teachers and the principal are giving their best to create order, students give their best to create disorder, some of them are official "agents of chaos".The +2 students don't pay much attention to all the bullcrap because they are preoccupied with boards, JEE, CLAT, etc.Real source of entropy is the 6-10 section boys. But yeah, most of the couples roaming around in the huge campus of our school are from +2 section only(and geeks like me feel so jealous:D).St. Michael's taught me one important lesson, how to deal with trouble. It's a good school for boards but if you are a badass Robinhood aiming for JEE (advanced) then I would say it would be a bit difficult for you to manage both school and JEE(Adv) preparation. But yeah some supergeeks michaelites are there who top boards, go to IITs and qualify olympiads all at once.
