Why won't the rednecks admit the people in the northeast and on the west coast are simply better than them?
Not every southerner is a barefooted, illiterate, moonshine-making, incestuous rube. But most are. Thats why the real cultural distinction isn't red state vs. blue state but city vs. county. My hometown of Little Rock is surprisingly metropolitan, and even elected the first ever green party candidate to a state legislature. Your strokes are too broad.
If I'm moving to Florida, near Tampa, which areas are Liberal, progressive, moderate and conservative?
I just moved here from up North. I do have family in Orlando, but chose to move closer to Tampa because of the Ocean. Does anyone know of what the different areas around are like? I had been thinking about Miami, but my family suggested it was sort of dangerous...does anyone agree? It has actually always been my dream to move to California. I love it out in LA, but I don't have the chance to do that right now. Anyways, I'd love opinions about the Tampa, St. petes, seminole and clearwater areas. I am also interested in any good art and theatre areas, good places to walk pets, good beaches, etc. thanks! =o)

Why do Democrats always stereotype Republicans as Rednecks?
I am honestly confused by this, who even came up with this? Democrats always portray Republicans as inbred rednecks, when in reality the typical Republican is a middle aged professional that makes six-figures and is religious and has a family. When you think about it, this is funny because the stereotype of a Democrat is actually true, which is a lazy unemployed bum dependent on welfare that smokes pot all day and votes for whoever gives him the taxpayer's money.
Why does everyone assume that Texas is Cowboys and Rednecks?
My sister lives in California (her mom lives over there) and I live in Texas. When she comes to spend the summer here, in Texas, she explains how the kids ask her things like,"You going to da farm???" and ignorant things like that. WHY???
Why do people use "Liberal" and "Conservative" as an insult?
I think it is because we assign the fallacies of a parties leadership to those who vote for them. I'm talking both liberal and conservative here. I have friends in both parties and our conversations are far more civilized than here on yahoo or other blogs. People tend to use the relative anonymity of the internet to be nastier than they normally would be in public I think. While as a liberal, I can be critical of Bush, I also know that all the conservatives that voted for him don't believe in everything he's done. I had problems with some of Clinton's decisions. But I agree that we should direct our criticism toward the elected politicians and not each other. Then we need to discuss intelligently the ways to make changes for the better. Instead of me, me, me; ask what do YOU need to make America better for you? Then we can talk about what I need as well.
