How do you win a cricket test match?

By scoring more runs in your completed two innings than your opponents (as per MCC Law 16 - The Result):Law 16 - The resultMost of the time that involves dismissing the opposing team twice (i.e taking 20 wickets - all 10 wickets in each innings), though there are occasions where this doesn’t apply (i.e if one or both innings was declared closed by the opposing team, such as the 2nd test in 2017 between England and the West Indies at Headingley, where England declared in their second innings with a lead of 320 to try and force a result - W.I then successfully chased the total to win by 5 wickets late on the final afternoon). If the team batting first has the greater number of runs, then its margin of victory is the difference in the aggregate score of both teams over the two innings. If the side batting last exceeds the total of the side batting first, the margin of victory is the number of wickets in hand when the winning run(s) were scored. If one team scores more runs in one innings than the other does in both its completed innings, then the margin will be an innings plus the run differential. The precise ways & means of achieving that end (and the strategy it requires) is too complex to go into at length here, but as a rule the most successful teams combine a batting attack capable of posting consistently challenging totals with a group of bowlers who can take 20 wickets in varying types of weather conditions & on different types of pitch.

Which team would win in a hypothetical cricket test match between Top 11 Batsmen of all time and Top 11 Bowlers of all time?

It would then depend upon the toss and the condition of the pitch.Bowlers in the batsmen team: Steve Waugh, Sachin, Richards, Hanif Mohammad, Lloyd, Dravid, Ponting (Woes: only one part time medium pace option, rest are part time spinners)Batsman in the Bowler Team: Akram, Pollock, Marshall, Kumble (Woes: decent batsman on flat pitches, no wicket keeper)Assuming the pitch does not deter during the course of the match,Flat pitch: Match would end up as a draw, because the batsmen may score runs but they would face difficulty in taking 20 tale ender wkts. Similarly, bowler team may bend their backs and take wickets, but would leak too many runs for themselves to catch up later. But given that the game is timeless, the team of batsmen would have a 53:47 chance of winning because the bowling team has no wicket keeper!Green pitch: This match will definitely produce a result. Again the batting team will have a slight edge over the bowling team because the later team has no wicket keeper. Hence, they can not affect the caught behind and stumping outs and sometimes miss the services of the WK in initiating the LBW appeals and constantly sledging the batsman from behind the stumps.Rank Turner: Would have been even chances of win/lose for both teams. But in the absence of WK in the bowler’s team, my bet would be again on the batting team. You can now think for yourself why! The batsmen team can dare stepping out and easily go after the spinner when there is no wicket keeper.Toss may have only a slight influence on the game in terms of player’s mental strength while the pitch would have no say because it would remain undeterred.

According to you, who will win the test match between Australia and India (Dec 2018) and why?

The postion that India is in at the moment is tricky. We are 172 for 3 with Kohli and Rahane well set on the crease. At one stage things looked a bit tough as we lost both the openers at the score of 8 but the contributions from Pujara, Rahane and Kohli ensured we are on right track. India are still behind by 154 runs. If we (India) gets a lead of 50 or more then we are in very strong position. But, if we allow Australia to take lead then batting 4th on this wicket will not be easy as the cracks may open up on day 4. By looking at the current scenario I think the game is very balanced and it will not be easy to take a decision. Maybe by the end of day 3 we will get a better understanding so I would like you to get back tomorrow for much interesting answers or a discussion rather.

In Cricket, can a team win a match by zero wicket?

Suppose, a team batting second in a game of cricket needs just one run to win the match and is left with just one wicket. The bowler bowls the next ball wide and at the same time the batsman steps out of the crease to hit the shot, misses the ball and is stumped out. This means that the team batting second has scored the required run(from the wide ball) and at the same time the last batsman is out(stumped). Does that mean the team batting second has won the match by zero wicket?

What was the lowest score to win a televised PBA match?

Who will win the fifth test match between England and Austraila?

Maybe Australia! Or maybe, just maybe, it would draw if England can manage their wickets until the rain showers they said they'd be expecting! Have to be calm and composed against the new ball bowlers that are Johnson, Stark and Siddle! And I think Buttler has to survive as well!

Who will win the upcoming India vs. South Africa 3 test match series?

Cricket goes with a very popular synonym “ THE GAME OF GREAT UNEXPECTATIONS”. It is impossible to predict the outcomes of a game of cricket.Definitely the Proteas will have an edge on the series due to their home conditions. Fast and bouncy wickets and having world class seamers will be their prime advantage. Dale Steyn, one of the most feared fast ballers of present day cricket will be back in action after a long break from international cricket. Dale and company will put the Indian batting lineup to acid test. Fans are already looking forward to the duel between Dale and Virat Kohli. On the other hand the Indian quicks will be looking forward to exploit the conditions. The way Indian seamers have improved over the years is awesome. In recent times Virat, Rohit and Pujara have strengthened their grip against the red ball. Virat will be having a huge job on his shoulders. He will be looking forward to carry on the good form both with bat and captaincy, as he left this year. But personally I feel, Rahane will be India’s trump card in the batting department. His present form might be poor but his oversea’s record is awesome. In a nutshell, the balling department of both the teams will be the series decider. The seamers will enjoy balling on the fast conditions and the team which can make the right use of the tracks will rule.
