She is too young to reasonably sell emotional maturity as an artist, but sexual maturity was a tool at her disposal, one that she wielded with tremendous confidence.Madonna knows the difference between a slut and a superstar.I do not believe women should have to "slut" themselves out to get treated like grown ups, but it is a tactic that has been used by many, many before her and I have no doubt it will continue to serve its purpose in times to come. Look at Christina Aguilerra and Brittney Spears who both went from Disney to the big time. Also examine stars like Tiffany and Blossom who failed to get treated seriously as adults due to a perception that they were just good kids. Very few young entertainers can maintain the middle ground like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, but even combined they are not close to Miley in sales and superstardom.
