Whom You Does Love Better Zimmermen Or Trevor Martin

Why is the Trayvon Martin / George Zimmerman case such a hot political topic anyway?

Help me out with this, because I'm struggling to figure out why this case is a battle of conservative vs liberal, and why this whole thing has become so political.

I mean, let's get real for a moment. There are black teenagers getting smoked in South Central LA all the time. Where's the media attention? Why is THIS such a hot topic? Because Trayvon Martin was black and because George Zimmerman is......(what is he anyway?) He's not white, so you cant' say this is a hate crime. Or can you?

I guess my question is WHY we're all arguing over this case as if it has ANY political relevance whatsoever? Guilty or innocent, this doesn't affect me in the slightest. Or any of you for that matter. Especially if Florida "hold your ground laws" don't apply to you in whatever state you live in. So why all the hub-bub?

What did you think of the Zimmerman verdict?

From a US perspective, Tim Dees has summed this question up nicely.  From a UK perspective I will simply add that Zimmerman would have been convicted, possibly for murder with intent.  Certainly for Manslaughter.Obviously certain variables come into play such as pistols are illegal in the UK etc.  If we disregard those for a minute and replace pistol with legal weapon Zimmerman still would have been convicted.  The UK has a precedence of punishing individuals who attempt to use unreasonable force.  It is relatively unreasonable to believe Trayvon would have killed Zimmerman with his bare hands. A defence of I was fearing for my life would not stand up to scrutiny when the defendant is in possession of weapon that can be used to threaten an attacker.  Across the pond, the general legal consensus (I can only speak for my Law School and Legal Society/Forums but it is broadly reflective) is that - By following the victim, Zimmerman was unnecessarily attempting to conduct a law enforcement action after being advised not to.  Had Zimmerman remained in his car, Trayvon would still be alive. It cannot be forgotten that prior to his death and at the time of his death Trayvon was not guilty of a crime.   Allegations of assault against Zimmerman remain unproven. It cannot be held that Trayvon caused his own death.  Individuals reserve the right to challenge those that display suspicious behaviour towards their person.  Trayvon was within his rights to question Zimmerman's motives.  Lastly, given the prior actions of Zimmerman (intent to interfere) and the prior actions of Trayvon (walking peacefully) it can be reasonably held that Trayvon did not escalate the conflict.  He even took the time to make a call indicating his unease at being followed.  An unease which later turned out to be accurate as Trayvon was shot by the man he was suspicious of.In Scotland the verdict may have been similar to that in the United States since Scotland maintains the 'Not Proven' verdict. In the rest of the UK, Zimmerman would go to jail. Based on my cultural upbringing I find it appalling that the verdict has been returned the way it has, I find it an indictment of the legal system which values a loophole over reasoning.  A clear example of the letter of the law versus spirit of the law.  Zimmerman should have gone to jail.Alas, he didn't.  Unless Federal charges are levied, the judgement must stand and Zimmerman is innocent.

Did Trayvon Martin Have A Prior Arrest Record?

Someone today was trying to tell me that- Trayvon Martin had a prior arrest record for selling drugs.
Is this true?If it is,then the news sure did a good job of keeping it out, because I had no idea. And I've heard the story multiple times and read about it online different times, and not ONE of em said anything about an arrest record.
Whether or not he had an arrest record still doesn't justify him being killed.I was just curious as to whether or not this was true.
~Hope that Zimmerman dude gets what he deserves

Is it safe to say that George Zimmerman is an American hero?

George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue a family who was trapped in an overturned vehicle, police said today.

Zimmerman was one of two men who came to the aid of a family of four -- two parents and two children -- trapped inside a blue Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over after traveling off the highway in Sanford, Fla. at approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Where Can I find the TRANSCRIPT for the George Zimmerman Trial?

I type in exactly what I want into google George Zimmerman trial transcript and it has phone call transcripts, a news article that has only a small portion of the court transcript, and transcripts of news shows that talked about the trial.

For the love of God isn't it obviously what I want if I type in George Zimmerman Trial Transcript why isn't it on the front page?

Can someone please please make me job easy and point me out to the actual transcript?

Will George Zimmerman kill again?

So let me preface this answer by stating that I am not related to GZ. We share the same cousins by marriage. Prior to the fateful events of that night, my cousins never even mentioned this guy in passing to me. That being said here is my answer.GZ has no remorse over what he did and in fact feels empowered by his acquittal. I don’t believe he intended to kill anyone that night. But he is definitely reveling in the notoriety upon becoming a poster boy for Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws. I thought that things had died down but he kept popping up in the news.My cousins are devout Christian gentlemen who stood by GZ, 100%. You may think that this reflects poorly on their judgment, but blood is thicker than water. I cannot fault them for defending the cousin they know and love despite his numerous failings. This exchange occurred on Facebook back on Aug 24 2017, discussing Black Lives Matter protests:So if you take a person with zero remorse for their abhorrent actions, allow them to have access to firearms, and create a plausible defense to repeat their abhorrent actions; will they kill again?Yes, I think it is highly likely that he will kill again. He is itching for any excuse to draw a weapon on someone.
