Whos Better Wilt Chamberlin Or Mj

Why isn't Wilt Chamberlain considered the greatest of all time?

I used to argue with people that Wilt was the greatest of all time. People like to say he never had any real competition at the time, as he was such a freak of nature, but what they fail to remember is that he played against Bill Russell, one of the greatest defenders in the history of the game…and still wreaked havoc:What the numbers show is a decade of head-to-head battles from 1959 to 1969 during which Chamberlain shattered virtually all of the NBA's scoring and rebounding records while Russell collected championships. Over 10 seasons, they played 142 games against each other with Russell winning 85 and Chamberlain 57. The stats show that in those games, Wilt averaged 28.7 points and 28.7 rebounds while Russell averaged 14.5 points and 23.7 rebounds. Chamberlain scored 50 or more points seven times against Russell, including a high of 62. Russell's highest scoring game against Chamberlain was 37. And, of course, in that decade of squaring off, Russell won nine championships to Wilt's one. [1]This shows me that Chamberlain was absolutely great, but they couldn’t win championships due to the lack of a supporting cast.Like I said, I USED to make this argument, but that changed when Michael Jordan came back from playing baseball. After that, we saw a different Jordan, one that could consistently make long jump shots and 3-point shots, while still being incredible at driving to the basket, still a top defender, and still leading his team to win after win through sheer will. That’s why I used to make that argument…not any more.Footnotes[1] NBA.com: Two giants: Russell, Wilt scrapped on court, laughed off it

Do you think that Wilt Chamberlain was more dominant on game than Michael Jordan?

While I do think Michael Jordan is one of the top 5 players who ever played the game I think there are two or three other players who was as good as him.

Wilt the Stilt Chamberlain Accomplishments
Could bench over 500 pounds in his prime, had a vertical leap of over 50 inches which is higher than jordan which is 48 inches. Only player to average more than 40 and 50 points in a season or score more than 81 points in a single NBA game (100). Holds all time record for highest scoring and rebounding average. Set all time record for rebounds in a single game with 55. Even at the end of his prime he easily averaged over 20 points a game and 20 rebounds a game.
Michael Jordan is considered most dominant because he won more rings than Wilt partly in fact because Wilt played at a time where NBA had only 8 teams and therefore teams like celtics were able to stockpile and keep many good players at same time. Also Jordan received more advertisement than Wilt due to being in a more marketable era.

Who is better Kobe Bryan or Michael Jordan or Allen Iverson?

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are both amazing NBA basketball players. Allen Iverson shouldn't even be associated with them... he's just Allen "crybaby" Iverson!

How could a team with Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlin not win a championship?

How could the Lakers with Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlin not win a championship within their 3 seasons together (1968-69, 1969-70, 1970-71). They made it to the finals in 2 out of their 3 years together but could never really come through. Can someone with knowledge of NBA history clarify this for me? I guess this proves that having a team loaded with NBA superstars doesn't always guarantee a championship.
