Whose Insurance Company I Should Contact For The Car Accident

Car Accident: should I call the other car insurance company?

Thank you everyone for the replies. This was my first accident and it was very scary! My head was jerked forward and then hit the headrest really hard. They took me to the hospital in am ambulance and the doctor said I don't have any serious injuries, but I will be sore and I should have my family monitor me. In fact I have started to get kind of sore.

And to be honest I am not a car expert so you're right, I'm not the one to say it is beyond repair. But it is an old car so probably it will cost them more to repair than to total it. And I haven't gotten the police report yet. I did not talk to the insurance company about renting a car but that would be nice.

I haven't called the other insurance company yet because it's late, but I will give it a try.

Will an insurance company contact police after an accident?

@ Goldfly. I'd be a low life to not continue to work and collect unemployment while sitting at home doing nothing while I collect free money.. Instead, I decided to contribute to society and continue to work and put $ into the unemployment jar, medicare etc & pay for people who are lazy or low life... In Hindsight, yea, I probably should've been finding a different mode of transportation but I didn't. I didn't lose my license because I'm a bad driver, I lost it because I blew a .1 which means 1 too many beers at a sporting event & made a bad judgement to drive.

Before you pass judgement and post something that doesn't help, think twice. YOUR POST DIDN"T HELP ME NOR ANYONE ELSE LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER!!!!

I was at fault in car accident and other driver’s insurance company is contacting me. I don’t know what to do.?

I was at fault in a car accident a couple weeks ago and admitted fault to the police and to my insurance company and was issued a citation. The other driver’s insurance company reached out to me wanting information on the accident. I read online that talking to the claims adjuster of the other driver’s insurance company is a bad idea. Should I give them a call back? Does anyone have experience with this? I thought admitting fault would avoid me having to speak with anyone else and that my car insurance would be taking care of all this?

Car Accident: Should I talk to the other guys insurance company if they call up for info about accident?

If the other guy's insurance company calls up to "Grill" me to find out information" -- should I talk to them or tell them to talk with my insurance company? (who I have already given info to)

The other guy was following a tractor on a two lane road in a "passing zone" -- I pulled into the passing lane and was halfway past the other guy when he pulled over into my car -- damaging his left front headlight and my right rear fender.

Do I HAVE to talk to the insurance representative after a car accident?

My friend has a license, a car, and his own car insurance. He borrowed my car because his car wasn’t working. He got into an accident and hit someone. The cops came and made the report, and gave him a ticket. I never called my insurance. The guy he hit insurance contacted my insurance company and now a case is open. Do I have to speak with my insurance people? Can they just cut the guy he hit a check for his damages. My friend that was in the accident don’t have a working phone and he said he doesn’t want to talk to my insurance company anyway. He doesn’t want them contacting his insurance. My friend is being a hard *** and I honestly don’t know what to say to my insurance rep because I wasn’t there at the accident. I only had liability at the time so everything should be good and covered. Will my insurance company be able to figure everything out with out talking to me if I ignore there calls? I don’t really have any info for them anyway. Will they just pay the guy he hit damages or will my insurance contact my friends car insurance, if they don’t speak with me?

Car accident/insurance question??? HELP?

Luckily, I haven't gotten into a car accident, was just curious to know if I ever do....
Should I contact MY insurance company to file a claim, or should I contact the other person's? My friend was telling me that I should always contact the other person's insurance company, so that I don't get my rates raised by contacting mine. What do you guys think?

How a car insurance works? minor car accident?

If you have 'full coverage' insurance, you report the accident to your insurance company. They will pay to fix it (minus your deductible), and they will go to her insurance company to get reimbursed. You can also go to her insurance company and get them to pay the deductible.

You aren't required to report a 'fender-bender' in a parking lot to the police. You're only required if it's over a certain amount of money, or if someone was seriously injured. And even then I don't think it's necessary if it was on private property. Your insurance company, though, might have requirements for reporting minor accidents, especially if you plan to make a claim.

If the accident was her fault, you won't be dinged. You won't get a point on your license (she probably won't either) and your insurance rates won't go up. Most accidents, though, are judged to be shared fault, in which case your insurance company takes care of you and her company takes care of her.

It might take three or four days to fix your car. Your insurance company might cover a rental car during that time (and get the money from her company).

If you have full coverage (i.e. collision and comprehensive), call your insurance company and tell them you had an accident and you'd like to file a claim. There's an 800 number right on your proof-of-insurance card, or on their website. They will connect you with an adjuster. Insurance adjusters are really great--they answer all your questions, they are non-judgemental, they are usually very easy to talk to. If you don't have collision and comp, call HER insurance company and tell them the same thing.

Good luck!

Oh, one more thing. If she gave you her phone number, insurance info, etc. she will have a very hard time insisting the accident never happened. Why else would she give you that information?
