I was in one of the clubs yesterday in Jakarta and most of the people I saw there(Indonesians) were definitely taller than me. Most of the ladies that my friends introduced could easily give a nice kiss on my forehead. :) Lucky me..The average height around the world for men is 5′8 and for women it is 160cm and for Indonesians it is 165cm and 142cm respectively. Yes, they could be a bit short than these global averages, so what?Height of population has many correlations, Genetics and Nutrition among other factors.Human height has been steadily increasing in the last few centuries across the globe, in line with general nutrition and health improvements in this period.Over the last 2 millenia, human height was more or less stagnated or generally oscillating around 170cm.With rampant modernisation, industrilaisation and access to nutrition in the developed world, a massive spike happened.
