Why Am I So Sick Should I See A Doctor

Why do I have to see the doctor more often than once a year to get my medicine refilled if I am not sick and I owe them money?

When you are on Prescription Medicine there is a reason you have been prescribed the Medicine. All drugs have indications for use, limited in effectiveness at certain dose and also may have side effects which sometimes may not be visible to you as a patient. So that is the reason you need to be interviewed by answering certain questions, examined and in some cases tested by blood, urine or other tests like EKG etc to monitor if the drug is 1 Effective and working as needed 2 Is the dose adequate or need adjustment up or down 3 And if there are any side effects to make changes in dose or switch to a different drug. That is the Standard Of practice and as far as question of payment is concerned,I can only state that nothing is free in life and you as a consumer,in this case about your health you have to pay if you do not have insurance coverage and if covered responsible for copays as well just like you have to pay for your utility bills, and food shopping and rent etc .

If you're sick, when should you see a doctor?

Not medical professional, but married to one. Some stuff is in the “do not pass Go, do not collect $200” category:Respiratory distressUncontrollable bleedingOther obvious stuff like stroke symptoms, etc.Just getting that out of the way. Call 911.For sickness, generally I don’t go to the doctor unless I’ve had significant symptoms for at least 7 to 10 days with no sign of abatement. This might include a low-grade fever, coughing, sneezing, headache, sore throat, cold or flu type stuff. Your body can fight these things. You don’t need to go to the doctor on day 2. Take Tylenol, take the day off from your job if you can, and ride it out. Try not to get others sick.Tougher symptoms that may cause me to go to a doctor sooner are: vomiting so much I can’t keep food down for 48 hours or more, pain or symptoms so severe I can’t sleep more than 1–2 hours per night, sudden worsening of symptoms that were easily bearable before, or high fever (104+ degrees F) that doesn’t respond to OTC meds.

I have been very sick for two weeks straight, should I go to the doctor?

Generally speaking, if you are sick for a week or longer, then it makes sense to go to a doctor. Now that all depends on how you are sick and what your symptoms are.A respiratory infection like a cold, cough, sore throat and flu typically may have symptoms for that long, and with a little care on your part, getting plenty of rest, and you could get through it without needing a doctor’s attention. But you don’t say what your symptoms are, and for that matter, you really should be treated by a medical practitioner. Two weeks is a long time to be feeling ill. And most especially, if your symptoms have increased over this time, then absolutely, get medical attention. This is NOT the place to get a diagnosis, not even from a physician - there’s too much to guess, and someone could easily be giving you wrong information. If it is a cold or cough you can’t disregard the symptoms - you need to take care of yourself with bed rest, lots of fluids, eat well and keep warm - and for cough, cough drops, throat lozenges and warm liquids can help. Ignoring symptoms isn’t a good idea - when the body is sick, you need to nurture yourself, and get medical attention if it goes on too long. Your instinct is telling you now that it might be a good idea.

How do you get a doctor's note without being sick?

Break a leg.

Why do I always get sick?

I’m am extremely healthy person who exercises 4-5 times a week. My doctor also says I’m healthy. I’m not overweight (5’6”, 130 pounds) and I take vitamin supplements. I also do not consume fast food and limit deserts(sweets). I always wash my hands after touching surfaces, using the bathroom and before and after eating. Regardless, I always seem to pick up every nasty bug. I get colds every 3-4 months and now I currently have the flu. It feels horrible. Could it be people around me not practicing proper hygiene???

I feel so sick but I have school?

Tell your mom that you need to see the doctor so you can make sure your illness doesn't require an antibiotic. Tell her going to school isn't going to make you better, but spread germs to others. Remember, you got sick because some other mother sent their child sick. I'd rather my daughter miss a day or two and get well, then keep trying to go to school and end up missing more days because I pushed her.

OMG I'm so sick of being called anorexic?

Hey - I actually know what you're going through. In high school, all my friends always accused me of being anorexic until they finally saw how much I would eat. Then they said the whole bulimic things. They'll eventually get over it. Don't worry about it, even if it is incredibly irritating. Lots of people just aren't educated enough to know that it is possible to be healthy and underweight. You can probably just tell them that bulimic people most of the time don't actually gain weight because they binge. So I guess if you eat a lot in front of them (not too much so that they don't think that you are bingeing) and explain that to them, then maybe they'll understand. Hang in there!

Should I see a doctor whenever I feel sick or is it not necessary to see one each time?

It’s often not necessary. A rotten cold for a few days? Nothing they can do. The flu and you are otherwise healthy, breathing, eating, drinking ok? Nothing they can do. Ate gas station sushi or some other unwise choice and sick from both ends, not much they can do.However…. Feeling tired, out of sorts for weeks on end, please do. Any difficulty breathing, and aches or pains that just won’t go away? Skin growths that change? Having trouble remembering things? Thirsty a lot? Indigestion? Other belly problems that won’t go away? Lumps, bumps, rashes that won’t go away? Please do.

My annual physical is tomorrow but I am sick, should I go anyway?

It's the lovely pelvic exam and so on. It's also to check my general health, etc... Since I am sick, should I reschedule so that they get a more accurate idea of my general health. In truth, I want to climb under my blankets with a cup of hot tea and vegetate - not get poked and prodded. This is just a nasty cold - not something I'd normally see a doctor about.
