Why Am I So Worried About Putting On Weight Before And After Eating Food

Will I put on weight in 2 weeks from over eating?

The scale will go up almost immediately, but is only because of water weight, not actual body mass gain.   If you eat 500 extra calories a day, it will take about a week to gain an actual pound, but if that extra 500 calories a day is Doritos, the sodium will cause a gain of 3-5 lbs, and once you resume maintenance eating, the water weight will be removed within 2-4 days, and you will be 1 pound heavier.   So don't worry if you gain 5 pounds overnight after a cheat, just resume your normal diet, and wait 2-4 days, and then see how much you actually gained. The problem is not usually 1-2 meals, but a sustained excess of calories.. weeks, and months of doing this. Most people gain 3-5 lbs. a year, which isn't that much, until 10 years from now, when you are 40 lbs. heavier than today.   Stop living in fear of cheats, and think more about the awesome food you can eat that is nutritious, and helps fuel your body. Most of us cheat more often when we are depressed from the last cheat. Be " good " 80 % of the time, and don't go crazy the other 20 %. Have a slice of pie, but not the whole pie, have an 8 oz. pop, and not a 2-liter,have a burrito, and not 5 of them.   If you are at a 500 calorie deficit for 6 days, and then have a 500 calorie cheat on Saturday night, you still cut 2500 calories, and will lose around 1/2 a lb a week. That's 26 lbs. in a year, which doesn't sound like much, but is phenomenal. Consistency is more important than how fast you lose. The goal is to limit cheats to as few as possible, and have them smaller than the calories you already cut from the diet, so you still have a deficit. So avoid daily cheats, or 3500 calorie cheats, and you should be fine, even if the scale temporarily looks like you just erased 10 weeks of weight loss.

Can one day of eating junk food affect my weight?

You’ll be AMAZED how much weight you’ll lose after your cheat day. Here’s why. After dieting for long periods of time what can happen is your fat loss begins to slow down. The reason for this is you may run the risk of suppressing certain fat burning hormones (leptin and thyroid) and down regulating your metabolism. So how do you solve this problem? You “cheat” on your diet.Cheating is actually a MUST for those you have been dieting for long periods of time. I just recently received a comment from someone here on Quora who stated that she could not take in anymore and indulged. What she found after a few days is that she lost weight after a few days had past.I’ve used this strategy in the past every week and lost 22 pounds in a matter of a few short weeks. So have fun on your Birthday and look forward to losing more weight in a few days!P.S. Here are 3 Simple but Sneaky Steps to Eat LOTS of Carbs and NEVER Store Them as Fat...Eat Carbs and NEVER Store Fat

Will eating an unhealthy meal one time make you gain weight?

Not enough that you'd notice. What is an unhealthy meal? One with excess calories? One with more sugar than anything else?Your body doesn't have a 24h diet schedule like you do. Every meal is processed at the speed it can handle. Sugar gets processed quickly and fats and proteins get processed less quickly.Having a meal high in simple sugar will make your blood sugar rise quickly and drop quickly. This energy, if not going into exertion straight away will be stored as fat in the liver and around your body.Having too many calories from any type of food will have a similar effect, but at what point in time is many calories too many calories? We use a 24hour system in our diet plans. And it tends to work quite well because it fits around our active schedule. After sleeping, we have empty stomachs and dehydration. If you haven't eaten in days, then you'll also have low blood sugar and dehydration.Throughout the day, just by standing up, you are burning calories - so you need to replace them. Knowing that it takes at least 6 hours and up to 4 days to digest food (depending on your food type and digestion ability), what you eat and when you eat it has a very large window. You can replace those calories already lost as you progress in the day, or you can have your daily recommended calorie intake in one sitting. It really doesn't change anything other than how you feel while stuffing your face in one go and how quickly you want to finish the meal.So yes and no. One high calorie meal will make you feel heavier because you've ingested that weight in food. But no, that one meal won't make you gain noticeable weight as body fat overnight. Over-eating in general and in excess sugar will make you put on weight over time.

If I poop right after I eat does that mean I am not gaining weight? I tend to do this a lot and can not hold it by any means

When you eat, it moves your entire digestive tract into action. Waves of muscle contractions called peristalsis start moving through from your upper GI all the way to your anal muscles. So when you put more food into your system, digested food in your lower GI is pushed further on. The digested food coming out was consumed hours or even days before; it is not the same food you just ate. Your body will process the food you just ate, extracting nutrients, and it will work its way down, to eventually move out.

My mum keeps mentioning my weight gain and It's really getting me down.. :(?

Im 15 year old girl, 163cm and about 58kg which I know is a lot but I am quite muscular i suppose.
I used to be skinny then I started secondary school and grew up and realized i liked food so I ate more and now exams are coming so I started eating more. I know I;ve put on weight, i dont think im "fat" but not as skinny as I used to be. I have added a bit of flab. Im toned and strong under the flab, I can do a load of starjumps and crunches and pressups its just when i started eating badly and going through puberty (i went through it quite late, only a year and a half ago) i just became a bit flabby.
I went from a size 8 to a size 10 but I can sometimes sqeeze into size 8 dresses and defo tops, just not jeans :p
Well anyway, my mum keeps mentioning that I've put on wieght, like i havent realised, and just everytime the topic of clothes comes up she always says "you know you need to buy a Size 10 now, you're not an 8 anymore" and I dont think she thinks I'm fat but ive always been insecure about gaining weight and the fact she keeps mentioning it doesnt help. Plus its a bit hypocritical of her becuase I make an effort with my diet and I;ve started going running again becuase I do want to be slimmer whilst she doesnt.
I just dont really know what to feel when she makes these comments. She's not saying them to upset me, but they do, and if i were to tell her then she'd be like "size 10 isint fat, your just not an 8 anymore".

I dont really know...it just she seems DETERMINED to get me into Size 10 clothes like I bought a dress Size 8 becuase i wanted it to be fitted and its a bit tight but It looks good tight like that and she agrees. But then she just goes and tells me that I should havebought a bigger size! She always buys me larger clothes, I dont understnad why she is so desperate to make me wear Size 10 when sometimes the Size 8 looke better? If a size 8 doesnt fit then i will wear a size 10, im not going to refuse to wear clothes just becuase I dont like the number written on the label..

Also any tips to lose wieght?
thanks

Do you gain weight when you eat before you sleep?

Ignore what the other people said, it is the biggest myth ever!

Okay, your body is a 24 hour machine. Like a car, if you put gas in it and use it at 2 in the morning, it runs the same as if you were to use it at 2 in the afternoon. What I am saying is, you will not gain weight as long as your calorie intake is fair over a 24 hour period. Fair, means that you will not gain weight if a grown man eats 1400 calories/day. I eat about 1100 calories, and have lost well over 55 lbs, around 60 actually.

Eating before bed is fine, just make sure you are not over eating on your daily intake. Your body burns around 1800 calories/day if you don't exercise, breathing, digesting, pumping blood, that is what your body does with the food. So don't worry about eating a hefty meal before bed, but if you do end up eating 700 calories of pasta or fried food before bed, it will not help you with your weight loss.

Your weight, meaning fat will not gain anything if you eat before bed man. You might weight more or less in the morning depending on your water intake, it's called water weight, I sometimes weigh 165, and at times 173, all water weight, your body is dehydrated when you weight less than normal. Fat? You have to eat less than what you usually eat to burn that off.
Remember Diet>Exercise. 90% of weight loss is diet, 10 is exercise.
