Why American Complain About Everything

Why do Americans take everything for granted?

Ok seriously every Teen and Adult is spoiled and takes everything for granted. All they do is complain about how badly life sucks, and life is too hard. Everything sucks, Humanity is a mistake, we ruined this planet. Blah, blah, blah and all the other crap they said. Its funny I hear 40 year old adults and their 16 year old kids say those things. Seriously don't people realize how good we have it, we have tv, most family's have 2 cars, high speed internet, most kids have a ton of clothes, and shoes. Yet all anyone does is complain about how bad humanity is and how hard life is. If you want to see hard life move to Uganda, cuba or somalia. Then you will see a hard life. Seriously people need to stop taking everything for granted.

Why do so many (not all) Americans complain about everything?

I go to an international school and you'd be surprised about the stuff that some of these kids complain about. It's not just us Americans. Teenagers have a tendency to over exaggerate and they also don't understand how well off they are compared to most people.

America DOES have things to complain about. Health insurance is hard to get and is basically non existent for some. Also, the economy is in the toilet and there are thousands with out jobs and potentially/already are homeless. I'm not saying America has it worse than a 3rd world country (it doesn't by a long shot and it isn't a competition anyway) but every nation has their issues. Teenagers complaining about little things is common for many different cultures other than the American one. I think that some reason sometimes Americans might complain more is because we are spoiled in a lot of ways and if you're used to nice things and not having that hard of a life then little things will be considered your bigger problems. It's just the way it is.

Why do women complain about everything?

Why do women complain about everything?
(Yes I'm expecting the woman activist dikes to voice there answers in there pms'ing state but...)

Really, is stuff really that hard for American women?
I mean honestly you have way more freedom and rights then women in other countries and even men in some to!

So why keep complaining?

Why Do Americans Complain A Lot?

Americans are arrogant, or at least a lot of them. I'm an American, but not all of us are like that. I know a few fellow Americans who went to Europe and people there were like, "I'm surprised you;re American., You're not like most of them."

America is also a very extroverted society and we're very self-expressed. In general, Americans are selfish and if their needs are not catered to, they feel the need to complain. And some Americans are just plain rude and arrogant.

But not all of us are like that. Many are, but not all.

Why are Americans always complaining about jobs?

As a recent college grad I'll give my opinion, I think most of the problem comes from the young age of college grads. Most college students are only 21 or 22 years old when they graduate, most likely they have been supported by their parents up to that point and have not had to take on many responsibilities other than school and maybe a part time retail job. Almost every 21 year old that I've ever known is slightly irresponsible and not always career driven, they want to have fun and experience their new adult life (myself included).I didn't go to college right after high school, not only because I didn't know what I wanted to do at 18 years old for the rest of my life, but also because I come from a big family and my parents couldn't afford it. I married young then got divorced a few years later, because of this and because of a job layoff I was 25 when I enrolled for college. I think I had a better appreciation for education at that age compared to when I was 18. I knew how competitive jobs were so I took steps to try to stay ahead of my competition. I couldn't believe how many students never applied for internships.I honestly think parents and high schools need to stop pressuring kids to go to college right after high school. Let them figure out what they want to do first. How is a 17 or 18 year old supposed to know what they want to do for the rest of their life when they haven't even experienced life yet? This is probably why most college grads don't end up working in a field they majored in. The focus should be more on going to college when they are ready, not when society says they should be ready. I think a lot more college grads would find themselves successful if they would have waited a little bit longer.

Why do the democrats complain about everything us republicans do?

I am a registered democrat. I do not blame republicans for all the ills of our country. I do believe that a fair share of blame is always thrown at the party in power. When Bill Clinton was in office, the Republican Party threw a whole lot of mud. It is a political game that has been waged for a couple of centuries now. Made easier by the media. The other thing to note is that we are fast approaching an election that could tip the scales in both the House and Senate. Mud will be flying till the end of elections. Politics as usual. In regards to President Bush being to blame for North Korea, that is not entirely true. That is a problem that the Republicans can point all the way back to the Clinton Administration. The easiest way I cope is to vote for the person that I feel will do the best job. I never vote straight party line. It makes no sense.
Republicans are more interested in economics, and the Democrats are more interested in social issues. They do not usually work very hard in areas that there is little interest.

Why do many Americans complain so much about their own country?

Because America is not that great.American public schools in many areas vary dramatically in quality, not exclusively due to the fact that many states stole funding from public schools and steered it towards private schools upon desegregation. American private schools are extremely expensive. All American Universities charge ridiculously to fellow Americans just because they’re from a a different state (whereas in Canada you pay the same no matter which province you study in).American Medicare and Medicaid is decent in some states but totally sucks in southern states like Louisiana (my uncle did his medical residency there and he told me about how disorganized it has gotten). You have to pay tolls to use a lot of highways (another almost non-existent thing in Canada)If you’re black or hispanic, the system of housing, government resources, public schools, etc everything is rigged against you. (Also applies to a good extent if you’re a poor rural white person)States like Alabama are so poor that they’re using lotteries to raise enough money to meet their budgets, all while their leadership regularly lowers taxes unreasonably and provides excessive tax benefits to the very wealthy.Oh, and also because they have freedom to say whatever they want (out of the 200 countries in the world, at least 180 of them also have this freedom but w.e. I’ll give this one to the US) so they’re very open about their problems.

Why do Americans complain about Gas prices ?

I think we in the UK are among the highest, paying nearly $10/gallon.
I'd love to be in America filling up my tank there... Especially as a I drive a big Dodge truck. Even the price of LPGas here is getting high, now around $5+/gallon.

PI - most other countries don't use diesel, it's just a lot more common than in the states. and the price of diesel is about 20c more per litre than petrol. You guys don't use much diesel as you've always had reasonable gas prices compared to Europe...

Why are Americans prone to complaining about their country when it is the best one on earth?

Why are Americans always bitching and moaning about the social and political issues in their country when the United States is the greatest nation on Earth?Because familiarity breeds contempt and all humans can only respond to what they see and feel immediately in front of them. With no experience in the real-life struggle of third-world or oppressed nations, it is probably fair to say we Americans don't know how good we really have it.Still, no country or society is perfect and we can only fuss about the major issues we experience in our own everyday lives. As an aside, there is probably some debate about whether America truly is the greatest nation on earth.I think there might be some Danes, Mexicans and Singaporeans who might disagree.Still, as is often the case, it is the lady with the immaculate home who laments the most of her inability to keep the smallest of nooks and corners clean.Perhaps Americans complain so much because they have the right and the freedom to do so.Much of our grumbling could be called unnecessary, but without the exercise of free speech little would improve. All of this to emphasize a simple response:We bitch and moan because we can. When you get over here someday and see how imperfect America really is, you will understand. And possibly join the chorus.
