Why Are A So Many Americans Wanting Obamacare Repealed As It

What proportion of Americans want Obamacare repealed?

There are dozens of polls, with results all over the map. Most of the variation in numbers can be explained by asking different questions and how the answers are classified. This poll shows a three-way split between implementation, repair, and repeal of the law, with much smaller pools of support for defunding or expansion of the law. This poll doesn't break down the demographics for every answer, but they do break down the party affiliation (Democratic, Independent, or Republican) of who they would blame if the government were to shut down (the poll having preceded the shutdown). Republicans are mixed about whether to blame congressional Republicans, and Democrats are mixed about whether to blame congressional Democrats and are extremely protective of President Obama. Independents are eager to blame all three groups, though they seem to blame congressional Republicans somewhat more. It also breaks down support for the new insurance exchanges based on how people are presently insured, with the highest support coming from those who get their insurance from government already and from government insurance. The uninsured and self-insured are somewhat wary about participation. I suppose it is the insurance mandate that is addressed to those latter groups, while the insurance exchange is primarily directed at those who get their insurance through their employers. If the question is simplified to either for or against, a picture emerges that is more favorable toward repeal, though the gap is still rather narrow. There is no demographic breakdown for this graph.A similarly narrow majority of 52% Expect Obamacare to Make Health Care System Worse. I don't see any demographics breakdown by answer given.

Why do Republicans want to Repeal Obamacare?

It's Obama's signature legislation. It would be quite a feather in their cap if they could tarnish the Obama legacy w/ a successful repeal.
It doesn't matter to the reps that millions more people have health insurance now. They want to burn down the ACA and return back to the same failed system that prompted the legislation. It doesn't matter to the reps the ACA was approved by the Supreme Court. As is typical rep style, they are unable to let go and move on. They should be working to improve the ACA.
They should be pointing their fingers at gwb who had 8 yrs. to approach the problem w/ the right wing flavor ... he did nothing.
The problem of unaffordable health care didn't sneak up. The Clinton admin tried to tackle it but couldn't get enough rep support.

"Obamacare has led to health coverage for millions more people
At least 9.5 million previously uninsured people have gotten health insurance since Obamacare started, surveys and reports show.

"Already sluggish health-care inflation is expected to slow down even more in 2014 as consumers, employers and the federal government continue looking to cut medical costs, a new report said Tuesday."

Why do people want to replace Obamacare?

If you are a Republican politician, you trapped yourself into a bad political position when you were not in power and now you are stuck with it but doing your best to wiggle out of the consequences (remember ACA was a Republican state plan the Dems in hopes Republicans could not object to since it was mostly a Republican plan). The polls show a LOT of support for parts of the ACA so getting rid of it has become your nightmare. If you are part of Trump’s base, you likely have no original views and are just repeating the stuff you have heard on Fox and the other echo chamber media you consume. If you are a Dem, you hated ACA as a compromise and only accepted it as a step on the way to socialized medicine like the rest of the developed world has. For party pride you don’t want to replace ACA but you would be happy fixing/improving the hell out of it until it becomes socialized health care.If you are young you likely think you will live forever so you do not like having to pay for healthcare and would prefer the mandates go away. Your view is shortsighted but you cannot see that yet. There are bankruptcy attorneys waiting to get to know many of you in the future. There are lots of people with employer sponsored insurance that think they will always have a job. How amusing. If they know they/family member has a pre-existing condition they may have a little worry about losing ACA but many are not thinking that far ahead. If you are in the health insurance business, the steps the Republicans have taken to weaken ACA makes it hard to make it work. With some tweaks to the ACA you could still make a profit and provide health coverage. But you can see where it is going (single pay, no place for insurers) and would be happy to go back to the bad old days where you could sell crap coverage to all the poor people and make a bundle since they really got very little coverage for the money.

How does repealing Obamacare help rural America?

A lot of states don’t get the benefits of the ACA because their states don’t have a lot of the benefits. Five states, Alabama, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming , don’t have it implemented at all. However, in nearly every state premiums are risen by some amount. If you’re not using the ACA, it basically just acts as a drain on your wallet. So for many rural people who aren’t on the ACA, that’s what it is.Personally, I think they should go on it considering the cost of the ACA would be pretty low for a good amount of them compared to their regular premiums. These Five States Aren’t Lifting A Finger To Implement ObamacareState by StateCost of ObamaCare

How many Republicans voted FOR ObamaCare?

Zero!

Odd since Obama promised to bring together a divided country and work to overcome division and create cooperation in Washington. This is just one example where he did the opposite.

Instead of striving for a bill that could have support of a wide variety of Americans, he forced Obama care even though none of the Republicans supported it.

Washington was more politically divided, not less, and Obamacare became a huge burden on our economy.

Where I work, we have about 230 employees. Because of the regulations in Obama care, providing healthcare insurance for the employees increased the expense for the company by about $250,000 per year and the amount the employees paid also increased.

Surveys showed the majority of Americans did not want Obama care, but it was forced on us.

Why would POTUS want to repeal and replace Obamacare without having a viable alternative at the ready?

There was never a "replace." All that was ever offered was a repeal. According to multiple media sources and statements by Republican leaders, the theory was that if the Republicans killed Obamacare, Democrats could be manipulated into developing a seriously watered down alternative. The GOP caucus in both houses have been seriously divided about whether there should be any involvement in providing healthcare services. Many in the caucus think that "the market" should sort out coverage issues. If people could not or chose not to participate in the market, that would be their business. These folks imagine that a system featuring published prices and a variety of coverage options woukd eventually bring down costs for most Americans. As a result, there is almost no possibility of creating a healthcare bill of any kind that would be supported by the bulk of Republican legislators.Given such circumstances, it would be up to Democrats to come up with a replacement that could attract enough Republicans to avoid a filibuster by the likes of the Freedom Caucus. The current attempt to get the courts to invalidate the law is a continuation of that strategy.I doubt that Mr. Trump much cares about the policy implications of the issue or the fact that a repeal would end the protection for preexisting conditions they said they wanted to protect.

What obstacles do the Reps face in repealing Obamacare?

This is a GOP plan from 20 years ago, so….Newt Gingrich proposed this 20 years ago and may well be back in the White House….Turns out, not that many people actually object to it—they object to rising premiums, which Obamacare does nothing to stop. The Health Insurance lobby wants things back the way they were—with pre-existing conditions and all that, but there’s no way I can sell that to my constituents.Nobody pays for my campaign as much as the Health Insurance lobby does.Has anyone put any thought into an actual replacement plan? Anyone? Paul? No? Oh crap.

Why do liberals like Obamacare...?

Can someone please explain to me why someone believes that we should tax everyone to give people health care? why is it my problem that someone doesnt have healthcare? And why should we require people to have health care or else be penalized?

just really confused why this is good for America.
