Why Are Africans Always Bragging About Their Ability To Memorize

Why do Filipino parents in America criticize their children too much? And criticize the younger Generation?

I hear you, but this thing is not unique to the Filipino people.

In fact it might be more rampant with other cultures such as the Hispanics, those of African origin & other Asians, such as the Chinese, Vietnamese, Indians, etc. etc.

My parents are Filipinos born in the Philippines & has been living in the US for close to 30 years but they have never criticized us, their children as what you have mentioned in your question but I am pretty sure there are a lot of those parents that do so, & some in varying degrees of criticism.

You mush also remember that most of you in the "younger generation" (not only Filipinos) believe that they know a lot more than their parents & are indeed disrespectful, ungrateful & are spoiled, so most of the criticisms are NOT without basis.

If you are not one of those spoiled kids then it does not pertain to you. If you are being criticized then take it as a constructive criticism & try to see where the "older generation" is coming from, for in no time you would be part of the new "old generation" in say in 20-50 years.

Additional:
We can all judge all the past generations before us (well of course we weren't there & we have all this knowledge already) but do not be surprised to be judged yourself by the next generation after you & I just hope that they will not tell you that your generation drove society as we now know it even lower than the older generations.

So really the point is, it is hard to generalize.

Why do most African parents encourage their children to become either a doctor, lawyer, or an engineer?

Social-Economic Prestige. My elder sister is a doctor, I’m a lawyer and my younger sister is training to be a civil engineer. We are only three girls. My dad was brought up in an rich, politically connected family (complete with chauffeurs) as his eldest brother who was several decades older than him was the P.S to our first president. He got spoilt and didn’t study as hard as he ought to have, though he went to college. He has not been quite as financially successful himself. My mum was brought up by a strict dad who was willing to do dishes just so she can get extra time to study. She always topped her class. Always. Now, my dad wanted to achieve prestige through us that he didn't achieve himself as he didn’t study hard and my mum just wanted her kids to pass exams and succeed in school just like she always did.The ‘prestige’ is yet to translate into serious cash for all of us. But my elder sister just finished building her huge 4 bedroomed house mortgage-free. She’s 27. I’m working on my own success story but if it helps, I have met Pres. Obama and given a TEDx Talk. I will however not be a hot-shot lawyer; I am pursuing a different path. Small siz still has 3 years left in engineering school. We want to build my mum the house she’s always dreamt of and buy her the car she’s always wanted to have. It may take several years but she deserves it.Our parents are both proud of us but for completely different reasons. Dad, so he can brag to his friends. Mum is just happy we are healthy and didn't turn into drug-addicted drop-outs.Mums rock.

Why do brazilians and latinos think their women are the best looking?

why the hell should i consider myself latin? 3 of 9 countries but i descend from speak a latin language, the others are slavic and hungary. not much latin in there. and my mother's parents are romanian/moldavian, they come from the city of constanta. i even speak some romanian. romanians are actually not really latin, they have the romance language, yes, but their culture is slavic. all the latin countries are catholic for example, but the romanians are usually orthodox, like the slavic countries.

you have no idea and you have never been to europe i guess. otherwise you would actually know more about the cultures there. your way of arguing is just completely stupid, you would consider spanish, italian and french people as super more joyful than people from northern europe, even if they live just across the border. you may not even recognize the european countries if you saw a map. go back to your drug-war-infected colombia, it's SO much more cooler than in safe america or in s

Why are Africans more successful in America than African Americans?

Some say its because only the good educated Africans can afford to come to America. Others say its because AA's never experienced real struggle. Even in the ghetto they have clean water, a place to live, free education, and food. Just visit some of the projects of the inner-city you'll see mercedes parked there. PS3's and kids with every pair of jordans that have came out but still are in poverty. Many Africans come from extreme poverty so they have a greater reasons to do well in school. Africans have per capita the highest amout of phd's in America even surpassing the stereotyped asians. While AA's are near the bottom when it comes to phd's. Why is this? When AA's clearly have the advantage. Does slavery play a part? Does this view of "the man" is holding me back by AA's hold any significance? Is hip-hop culture to blame? Lost family values/Broken Homes? Don't say im generalizing these are FACTS. I would love to hear from Africans and AA's but everyone else also.

How come African-American women look better than most Nigerian women?

i beg to differ. i actually find african women more attractive than african american women. they are also usually more open minded. and there is nothing masculine about them. i have a nigerian girl in my class and she is good looking. she has full lips, smaller eyes, and bigger nose but she looks good with it. no need to be nasty about them. they also have much healthier body than most african american women i seen.

How many African countries can you identify on a map?

Well, since this is my corner of the globe where I grew up, I consider it my turf. In other words, the answer better be A LOT.And still! I missed a few. Here’s a recap of my little exercise: the countries I marked in red are the ones I identified (note that the map doesn’t separate Sudan from South Sudan, hence one name only is listed there), and the one marked in black are the ones I forgot. Also note the common theme: Guinea. Enough said. So… here’s what I did.I did another exercise to boost my memory. The result? Here are some cool facts about the 5 countries I missed. I had to look them up to make sure I remember them next time!Guinea Bissau: It is the world’s sixth-largest producer of cashews.Guinea: It’s sometimes known as Guinea-Conakry to distinguish it from Guinea-Bissau.Sierra Leone: A Portuguese explorer gave Sierra Leone its name in 1462, and it means “lion mountains.”Burkina Faso: This country is a leader in African art and culture and hosts the largest craft market in Africa.Equatorial Guinea: It has the highest adult literacy rate of the entire Sub-Saharan Africa. And on a side note:Here are my top 5 interesting (and in some cases hard-to-find) countries, along with a few cool facts on each:Togo: The name is a combination of the words “to” (water) and “go” (edge/shore).Benin: The country measures about 325 km (202 mi) at its widest point.Madagascar: Lemurs are sacred in Madagascar; as of 2012, there were 103 living species and subspecies of lemur, almost all classified as rare or endangered.Djibouti: Lake Assal of Djibouti is the saltiest lake outside of Antarctica, even saltier than the Dead Sea.Lesotho: Lesotho is a country within a country, surrounded on all sides by South Africa. This answer took a while (more so to write names on the map itself), but was totally worth it!
