Do you support the right of Salman Rushdie, Taslima Nasreen and Tarek Fateh to express themselves freely without threat of violence?I'm assuming most reasonable people would say yes at this point. Good news! The majority of liberals agree with you! You make the false assumption that liberals don't support the likes of Rushdie, Nasreen and Fateh, which is a false characterization. You cannot call radical Muslims liberals by any yardstick.Now, my question is, do you support Umar Khalid’s right to speak? If you don't, I would like to understand why you think certain types of speech (such as that of Rushdie, Nasreen and Fateh) are preferable to others (such as Umar Khalid) ? Is it because the former kind of speech lines up with your point of view while the latter doesn't? In that case, you are being hypocritical. Either you allow all kinds of speech and expression, even that which offends you personally, or you disallow any speech that offends anybody.
