What is the liberal fascination with promoting Muslims and Islam?
There's not so much “fascination” or “promotion” as concern and defense. Muslims, 1.6 billion of them, are being deemed, en bloc, a priori hatemongers and possible terrorists by bigoted and fearful people. Trump’s election has catalyzed an uptick in hate crimes.When an infinitesimal minority of a huge group of people has induced the uninformed to mistreat, misjudge, and persecute countless innocent people — when an untrue caricature obscures the importance of judging individuals by the content of their character — it is (or should be) a liberal imperative to seek an understanding of the facts and to protect the civil rights of individuals.Had more people worked harder to debunk Nazi pseudoscience and combat antisemitism in Germany, things might have worked out better. That some of Hitler's victims were saved has everything to do with the kind of fellow-feeling and care that you, a “pretty far left guy,” find incomprehensible when applied to Muslims.I find your incomprehension incomprehensible, OP. I have no special fondness for Islam — or for any Abrahamic religion. I'm an atheist. But I am concerned with how its practitioners behave, and not with policing thought. Aren't you?
Why do liberals oppose conservatives but support Muslims who tend to be conservative?
First, not all liberals do anything. But fundamentally liberalism is about fairness. You’ve probably heard of the ACLU. That group of liberal First Amendment people who will defend the Klan’s right to march. This is because if you defend things only when people you like do them you don’t actually defend the thing. Your only principle is defending people you like.What liberals defend Muslims in doing is things that liberals will defend other liberals doing - or defend conservatives doing. If you can set up a liberal church somewhere then all else being equal you can set up a conservative church there or a mosque. If it’s fair for one then it’s fair for all.However what we see Conservatives doing is things that aren’t fair. Conservatives generally value in-group loyalty and purity much more than liberals. And in-group loyalty is inherently unfair. We don’t care much what your kinks are as long as you keep them to yourselves. Muslims in America generally want space for themselves which liberals consider fair even when the Muslims themselves are conservative. Conservatives on the other hand want to dictate how other people live in ways that liberals consider unfair.

Just more than a third of American Muslims are young, millennials, actually. Also, a solid third of American Muslims identify as Liberals. The next biggest political orientation is Independent. Then comes Conservative. There is very little agreement between the USA’s Muslims and the Religious Right of America. Why? Because the Christian Right hates Muslims with a burning passion as they seek to impose Christianity on America, yet there is no coherent, cogent American Islamist movement. Even though Muslims did vote slightly more for Bush than Gore, in every election since, they have voted overwhelmingly Democratic and in the last election were overwhelmingly for Clinton. Muslims are also an enormously diverse group that is changing rapidly. The past sixteen years have been transformative for American Muslims, which has led us to overwhelmingly be Democratic. So, in the end, it is extremely strange that you are Muslim and claim to HATE Liberals.Salam.
Why do Liberals defend Muslims tooth and nail?
Because they view Islam as just another religion, like Hinduism. The difference is that Islam, from it's very inception, is a violent political movement (much like Christianity from the middle ages) whose sole purpose was to convert or kill everyone in the world. Christianity, for the most part, has shed it's violent crusade, but Islam is still in the dark ages, and followers of this ideology have not changed their mission, to either infiltrate and convert or kill infidels (which means everyone). It is as political as it is religious, and liberals indeed will have a rude awakening! Their ideology of 'tolerance' is so twisted, it can be compared to 'tolerating' rattle snakes in your house. Sooner or later they will bite you no matter how nice you talk to them and try to convince them otherwise.
Why is Islam the only PC protected religion?
Muslims and their allies -- liberals/democrats/multiculturalists -- don't hesitate to condemn Christians for the Crusades, the Inquisition, colonialism, wiping out Native Americans, etc., etc., etc. But when we challenge the Muslims' and multiculturalists' mantra that "Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance" with facts that Muslims have been -- and are -- as aggressive and violent as Christians have ever been all we get from the hate speech police in the government and news media is "You can't judge a whole group by the actions of a few extremists."
