What is the point of raising minimum wage?
Do you realise that people on minimum wage get help such as tax breaks and housing benefit to help them pay the rent. What this means is that the govt. is having to collect higher taxes from other people and companies. Poor people will not get any extra money when everything is added up. The extra money they get paid will match the reduced benefits. So companies that only pay the minimum are being subsidised by other companies and higher earner tax payers paying more taxes. The govt. wants to reduce the tax bill.
Why are Millennials so afraid of hard work?
The liberals have made kids lazy Back in my time we didn t get sick leave, we didn t get vacation time, we didn t have family medical leave We work all day and all night We didn t take time off I miss both my parents funeral and many other family events like funeral and weddings. Yet now we have these stupid kids who wouldn t work and they want to have days off , and get paid for it That is what made America great
If i refuse to work minimum wage job, then what problem do you have?
Sitting at home makes NO connections with others to better yourself, and a wage is a wage. A finite circle of friends cannot help you after so long. Interactions with others (the "Grape Vine") is the best way to get yourself noticed as someone, who someone else needs. Most people don't hire your resume, they hire you, because others have the same resume, or better. You are new to the working world if that basic fact escapes you. No one owes you a job because you spent a lot of money. What do you bring to the company? Why are you more desirable than an equally educated other? These are the assets employers look for and you don't supply. Either in your resume or in your interviews. Why are you looking for answers in Yahoo Answers and not the newspaper? Think that will look good on your resume? Someone else doing your work for you?
Are liberals so comfortable with the idea of Mike Pence as president that they want to impeach President Trump?
My answer is based on working with Democratic politicians going back some 50 years. In those years I also was fortunate enough to meet and befriend several Republican office holders and strategists.A real politician is at heart a pragmatist. Politicians know that their chances of survival depend on what the public mood is. All politicians will tell you they have principles, whether liberal or conservative. But all of them are willing to bend or ignore those principles for the public good and for their own political well-being.Mike Pence is a politician. I may not agree with 90% of his beliefs, but I have seen one very important thing which sets him apart from Trump. He’s willing to abandon his beliefs in the face of public pressure. Trump isn’t.When Pence pushed for and got that draconian “religious freedom” bill in Indiana, the bill that opened the way for blanket discrimination against the LGBTQ community, before the ink was dry, businesses, celebrities, sports groups, entertainers and common people unleashed a tidal wave of condemnation. State and city governments forbade their employees from traveling to Indiana on business. Concerts and plays were cancelled. Businesses threatened to leave the state. Conventions were cancelled. Pence and the GOP legislature were caught off guard. So the man who had not long before declared “I am a Christian first. . .” immediately ordered the legislature to amend the language to be non-exclusionary. In short order, a new bill was presented Pence, who signed it. Less than 10 days had passed from the original bill’s signing to the new bill’s signing. In that 10 days, Pence’s “Christian-first” beliefs went out the window and he bowed to public pressure. That is pragmatism and that is what real politicians do.Pence has proven to be a politician first, a politician who understands what it means to be a politician. Trump has no such background, instead being an autocrat who is accustomed to getting his way, no matter who gets hurt or what the consequences are. He won’t last long. Pence, while in my opinion is flawed, will be a much saner, safer President.
Liberals: always on the wrong side of history?
According to the Supreme Court record, Conservatives fought against Americans who wanted slavery abolished. They fought against black Americans who wanted to vote. They fought against female Americans who wanted to vote. They fought against Americans who wanted to keep church and state separate. They fought against older and disabled Americans who wanted American public restrooms and sidewalks to accommodate wheelchairs. They fought against American workers who wanted a decent minimum wage and a forty-hour work week. They fight to this day against poor people by refusing to raise the minimum wage yet voting themselves raises in legislative bodies. While claiming to support "family values," they fought against American children and forced them to work like slaves in factories and mines. They spent our money making arms dealers rich while taking money away from the public school system. They fought against working American mothers who needed equal pay and decent childcare. They fought against hungry American babies and slashed preschool nutritional programs for the poor. They fought against pregnant poor Americans and slashed prenatal care programs. They fought against American healthcare professionals who were struggling to stop the spread of AIDS and they blocked the distribution of condoms that would have saved millions of American lives. They fought against American homosexuals who wanted to be able to rent a house or an apartment and live together in peace. They fought against American police organizations that pleaded for a ban on the guns that slaughter police officers and over 40,000 Americans every year. They fought against Americans who tried to protect the environment and people from pollution and poisons that are being put in the air and water. They fought against every American in court who has struggled to protect our freedom of speech. They fight against Americans who want the Internet to remain free. They fight against Americans who want peace and they fight to protect their right to profit from war. They fought against a common ground like this Yahoo site, a common ground where people from all tribes and nations of the world could gather and share ideas and problem-solving, the United Nations. Which side of history are YOU on again?
Why do liberals give away taxpayer money to support lazy people ?
