Why Are My Apps Not Working After Factory Reset On My Kyocera Event

How can I restart my Android device if the power button is not working?

Is your Android on or off?The method will be different depending on whether you phone is completely switched off, or if it is switched on and is simply in sleep mode. We’ll start with phones that are completely switched off.The charging methodThe first thing to try is plugging your phone into a charger. Some phones will boot up from this action alone. If this fails, try plugging it into your laptop via USB. This doesn’t work with a large percentage of Android phones but it takes so little time that it is always worth a try.The volume and home buttonsPressing down both volume buttons on your device for a long period can often bring up a boot menu. From there you can choose to restart your device. Your phone may use a combination of holding the volume buttons while also holding the home button, so be sure to try this as well. What to do when your phone is still switched onIf your phone is on but is in sleep mode, things are a little easier. Again, plugging into a charger can wake several kinds of devices up. Getting a call from someone can also do the trick so ask a friend to ring your phone. If there is a physical home button (as opposed to a touchscreen button) pressing this will usually wake up an Android phone. If you have a physical camera button, this should also activate the phone.Once it is awake, download an app to help you out!If you’ve successfully managed to use one of these methods to activate your Android, your next step really should be downloading one of several apps that you can use to turn on your phone again without the power button. Here are a few you can use:Gravity Screen (free) – Using the in-phone sensors to detect when you have picked up the phone. It then switches on the device. The effectiveness of the app will depend on how good the sensors in your phone are, so it may not be the best option if your phone is an old or budget modelProximity Actions (free) – Using the proximity sensor to trigger a certain action. While powering on the phone is not the default action for this app, you can select it in the settings.Power Button to Volume Button (free) – Switches the function of your volume button to that of a power button. Only useful if you have a physical volume button on your Android phone.Thank you.

Kyocera Event stuck on startup screen?

I have a Kyocera Event and for the past week it's been freezing and apps have been crashing and when I would type something, nothing would come up. Then suddenly it wouldn't turn on. Or, more specifically, it would turn on but would never go past the Virgin Mobile startup screen. So I did a factory reset. For half an hour, it worked fine, then started doing the same things. I tried doing another factory reset, and now it won't go past the startup screen again. It's not even playing the little tune during startup (all volumes are up). I tried factory reset another 3 times, and no change. I even left it on the startup screen overnight to see if it would eventually go past it, but in the morning, it was still on the startup screen.

What should I do? I don't have money for a new phone. Is there any way I can fix it? Could it be the battery?

How can I retrieve my files from lost.dir?

This app has worked for me: LOST.DIR - Android Apps on Google PlayIt managed to find file types for 400 out of 500 files. From there, I needed to do the manual work with renaming. However, the app’s author mentions that the programs which rename music files out of ID3 tags can be used to solve this problem automatically for your music.

How do I stop my Android Lollipop from "Optimizing app" on boot?

Hey there! I hope I can list some information that can help. I know how aggravating it is when something goes haywire after an update.I did some research on this issue specifically and found it to be a known issue. There are others going through the same situation. Here are some steps to try:First, I would try to recall if the issue happened after installing an app and if so, remove it. You can always reinstall an app that is a must have. (This is hit or miss but worth troubleshooting.)Second, I would try the troubleshooting steps provided by Motorola. The following steps were released in an effort to resolve the issue:1. Ensure the device is powered off, and unplugged2. Press and hold the Volume Down button and Power button (located on the right edge of the device) for approximately 3 seconds then release.3. From the "Boot Mode Selection Menu" screen, select Recovery.Note: Use the Volume Down button to scroll through the menu options and the Volume Up button to select.4. From the "No Command" screen (Android figure lying on his back), press and hold the Power button then press and release the Volume Up button to display the menu options.5. Select "wipe cache partition".Note: Use the Volume buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.6. "Reboot system now" will be highlighted, press the Power button to select it.Note: Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.Third, if that doesn’t work, there is always the option to restore to factory settings. I know it is normally the least desirable but it is effective. I would back up as much information as the situation will allow. The last step, if not already done, would be to contact your carrier for their tech support department. These situations can sometimes be carrier specific. If you have insurance or mobile protection through Asurion, that gives you a couple of options. Total Mobile Protection will give you one on one support that will be with you until the end. Devices, when purchased new, come with a one year warranty. If you have insurance, it could be extended to a two year warranty. If it’s within the one year warranty and there is no liquid / physical damage, Motorola would generally replace the device. Here are a couple of resources for you -"Android is Starting" "Optimizing App x of xxx" With Restarts of the phone 5.1 VerizonOptimizing apps on every rebootHow to fix 'Android is starting' optimization on every boot?Hope this helps!

Phone won't let me change primary storage?

I have a Kyocera Event phone and originally I had a micro sd card so I had my storage setting set to the sd card. A few weeks ago I went to take the sd card out to put more stuff on it on the computer but I forgot to unmount it first so the sd card doesn't work anymore so I left it out, but now I can't take pictures or videos or download apps because my storage setting is still set to the sd card and I can't change it to phone because it's greyed out. I can't get another sd card for a while and resetting the phone doesn't work. Help? :/

Why does my phone keep telling download pending?

It will show you “download pending” if you tried to download something from Play Store and for some reason it cannot be downloaded. To resolve, open Play Sotre, on top left click 3 bars to open up side menu bar. Click “my apps and games”. There it will show you apps which are in “download pending”, cancel those and that notification should be gone for good.

My Android cellphone keeps freezing up on the startup screen and say Android in silver letters?

I have a Kyocera Event by Virgin mobile. I got it last May so it's not that old. I am having some problems with my phone a it is really bothering me. I noticed over the summer that my phone was getting slow so I did a hard factory reset and I downloaded less apps than before. I don't have hundreds of pictures anymore. Recently, my phone has been freezing up and shutting off randomly...and it sometimes freezes on the regular startup screen so pull out the batter. I have to do that daily now. Yesterday, couldnt text because my phone didnt have any signal bars at all, which was so wierd. It has happened before, but after lettingthe phone sit without the battery for a while, it works better. Then my phone also gets stuck on this black screen that says Android in silver letters. Sometimes it gets stuck on that, and sometimes it takes a few minutes to work. My dad ordered me anew battery for the phone so I am hoping that will work. Can anyone please tell what exactly has my phone acting this way? I am totally lost and I am aggitated because my phone started acting up again and I removed the battery for about the third time today. Thank.
