Why Are My Boots Ripping

How did you get ripped off when you were trying to get your car repaired? What did they say was wrong?

I was a used car dealer running a “buy-here pay-here” lot for people with bad credit.I will stipulate that I’m “the scum of the earth, etc” for those who feel it necessary to point that out, so as not to distract from my actual point.I had a vested interest in getting paid, so I encouraged my customers to come to me with car problems, rather than just accept the word of mechanics of their choice as to what was wrong with their cars and trucks. I didn’t want customers giving “my” money to those “other crooks.”Stuff that happened circa 1999:An upset customer came in with a 3 year-old car that supposedly needed an alternator. A major tire store told her the tab for this was $400 - that's in 1999 dollars.I popped the hood, the alternator was right on top of the motor, and it would have taken a neophyte 30 minutes to replace the $60 part - if it needed it.I tightened the alternator belt for free and sent her on her way.Another customer came in who had taken his car to a quick lube for an oil change and was distraught when he was told the CV Boots were torn and the car needed $700 worth of CV joints or the wheels would fall off.The crook was too lazy to even rip the rubber boots. There was nothing wrong with the car.A nice young woman came in complaining that the four-cylinder car I sold her was running rough, and needed a complete tune-up for $400, again in 1999 dollars. She told me her family had used the mechanic who told her that for years.I gave her a Coke, checked the car, went to the auto store 50 yards away and bought a distributor cap for $5 bucks. I installed it in 2 minutes, and sent her down the road in her purring Mercury Lynx.Dealers who finance the cars they sell have no interest in selling junk to their customers. If they do, they end up with a lot full of un-paid junk and no future customers.I've sold lemons, but I ate my mistakes and swapped out the cars or gave refunds. It's not a question of being nice; just good business.

How do I repair this rip in my boots?

I got these Justin boots, and I work in them real hard. The outer leather finish is starting peel off in a small spot. I don't want this getting any bigger. How do I repair it? On their website, the boots are listed as Justin Men's Ranch & Road Western Boots. Thanks

How can I keep the inside of my boots from ripping?

Make sure the laces on the boots are good and loose, open the boot up so that your foot goes in without rubbing the back of the boot when you insert your foot. When your foot is in, slide it back against the heel, pull up the tong, and tie it. The back of your heal should not touch the inside of the shoe heal if it is coming loose.
If you take your old shoes to a shoe repair shop they will be able to fasten the heal in place with mastic and extend their life. Or you may find a mastic that works on cloth / leather, glue the heal and fill the shoe/s with paper to hold the heal in place until the glue dries.

My brand new ugg boots ripped. HELP!!?

So i have had my ugg boots within a week and they already ripped. They ripped from the little toe and there's about half an inch . I could not understand how they ripped. I believe there was a tiny hole in the sheep skin or something who knows. But I am devastated I called customer service and they said that they shouldn't have ripped in such little time. They told me to ship them for a refund or exchange but how am i certain they will look at them and send them right back? I have had them exactly for one week, paid 168$ for them. Has someone thing similar happened to anyone on here? I already printed the return form stapled my store receipt and now I am sending them a letter onto what happened to my boots or sending them a letter explaining is too much? Thanks!

Why do my shoes rip?

When I get new shoes they last for about a month before the sides where the seam meets the bottom of the shoe slowly rips and the holes get bigger slowly. I usually take a 12 W and I have always gotten them. I was wondering what the reason is for this to happen to me, I can never keep good shoes, and I usually spend between $25 and $70 for shoes, and I want really good boots but I don't want to spend $250 for my boots to be worn out with in 1 month.

My ugg boots ripped does warranty cover it?

I had my ugg boots for a few months now and i contacted the uggs people online and they said it was still under warranty, my uggs have holes in the front of them that i have no idea what caused it. I was walking and when i lifted my toes the right one ripped a big hole and the left one a small hole. Would they replace my uggs or no? THanks!!

Ugg ripped at seam on the side of my foot!?

I got my pair of uggs 2 years ago and last year I got a big rip on the seam connecting the bottom of the boot to the fabric part. I would buy a new pair but I really like the color I have now and I'd feel like I was wasting my money if I bought the same exact shoes again. My friend told me that uggs are never supposed to rip on the seam and that if you send them back to UGG Australia they'll send you a new pair. Does anyone know if this is true?? Do you know anyone this has worked for?

My UGG Boots ripped right on the toe! Not the seam. Can it be patched or something?

Bring it to a shoe repair, usually every town has one. They can possibly patch it up, but don't get your hopes up. Those plain popular uggs rip and wear out pretty easily. I recommend buying new ones, but of a different style. The cute little $150 ones I have and I LOVE. Plus they are made better, and great for walking a lot! (adorable too)

Women's Fashion and Style: How do I avoid ripping my stockings?

Preventing:Make sure that you have the right fit for you, too tight or short and they'll be more prone to ripping. Follow the sizing guide on the side.Go for a fabric that's slightly thicker and/or more opaque (nothing too airy that feels like you could rip it apart with a thought.)Go for hosiery with reinforced toe/heel/thigh/crotch regions (a Cuban heel with a contrast stripe running up the back can actually be a neat fashion accent in addition to being functional.)Take the time to put your stockings on carefully. Make sure your nails are smooth, roll the leg of your hose into a bunch all the way down next to the toe, carefully place your foot into it and roll up evenly, etc.Be careful about crossing your legs and where you sit/rest. If you tend to kick your inside ankle/leg while walking, wear shoes that don't have lots of straps and buckles or other pointy things that can catch.Fixing:If you do get a rip in your hose, go over it with a few layers of clear nail polish. Stops laddering pretty damn well. I've heard hairspray works too.If possible, flip your tights around to move to the hole to a less conspicuous or vulnerable area. Eg. from the front of your knee to the back.I don't know if it's the best for you, but I personally like L'eggs Silken Mist (http://www.leggs.com/detail.aspx...). The fabric's thick enough where I don't need to worry about running it, even with my often-jagged nails, and it's reinforced where I tend to rip most of my stockings (upper thigh region.)

Cylinder 2 misfire ripped intake boot the cause?

The ripped intake boot is not the immediate cause of the misfire code, but it may have caused it in the first place. A ripped intake boot causes a lean condition in the system because it lets unmetered air into the intake. More air and the same amount of fuel causes the combustion camber to run hot. This can melt/damage plugs and valves. The most likely cause of the code is bad plugs or coil, possibly a burnt valve. Once you fix the code, you will want to replace the boot so that it doesn't happen again. Could be a coincidence as well that they happened at the same time.
