Why Are My Budgies Behaving

Why does my budgie cling to top of the cage?

Birds like to be up high, and to climb around. My two parakeets jump and climb around their cage a ton! I know parakeets will sometimes even hang upside down in their cages, too. Your parakeet will climb around their cage a lot, all parakeets do. My two parakeets are almost always on the highest perches in their cage, since birds just like being up high.

If you don't have perches that are very high up in the cage, you should get some. Perches aren't expensive at all, so your parakeet would be more happy if you got one or two that are higher up. Also, swings are fun for parakeets, too, and they will enjoy perching on those.

You don't need to worry about this at all, parakeets do this ALL the time.

I Hope This Helps! :)

Why is my budgie so quiet?

When you first get a Budgie it will be quiet for the first week or so. Parakeets won't get lonely if you play or talk to them about two hours a day.
Some tips on starting with a parakeet are:
If it is still not eating out of its food bowl take some out and set it on something flat then set him next to it. He should start eating. He may eat or drink while you are asleep or not watching. Give him time to adjust. Also do not let any Mean budgies that bite come visit or he could start biting to, for a nice parakeet they will get along fine.

My budgie is acting crazy!?

Well I got my budgie kiwi, he is yellow and green , he is a budgie that is trying to escape mad. We only got him yesterday... Here's the thing, we haven't got trust yet, and I don't want to let it go, if I will let him go, he won't go on my finger then, , I feel sorry for him that he can't excursive now... :( - there are two more budgies in the cage and they behave a little better, but they bash the cage sometimes as well. Kiwi bashes the cage, he tries opening the cage with his beak! We are looking for big cages - this one is medium, we want a Large one under £50 if you could help me with this problem to. Also the cage has 2 come BEFORE THE 1ST MARCH, I live in the UK, Birmingham.

Can anyone help me with this aggressive bird - but he's also really cute!

I've got bird seeds, fruit cut, this fruit & nut & honey bell thing, and fresh water, we've only got 1 toy, but we will get more once we get a bigger cage. He eats everything i put there, not all of it - just some.

p.s. me and my sister were getting a pen and pushing it against its tummy so he could climb on it and he went on the pen, and he enjoyed it, is it to do with this - I did it with the pen because he was scared of my hand - he loved the pen, but now he is scared of the pen...!

Do my budgies like each other? 10 POINTS!?

I have recently got another budgie now i have 2. Female, and male.
Anyways they usually kiss and stuff. And the male usually sings close to the female. What does this mean?

They dont clean each other and i think its because they just recently met about 3 weeks ago. Do you think there relationship will get stronger? And that my birds will get closer?

Why does my female budgie keep attacking the male budgie?

Thanks for A2A.Before I point out some of the possible reasons for such behavior, remember that female budgies tend to be more aggressive than male budgies. This is the reason why keeping two female budgies together is such a bad idea. But if this gets too violent then it's a problem. Now, there could be many many reason why she's behaving like that and it is very difficult to pinpoint what's the exact reason for such behavior. Is the male budgie new to the cage? Then it's a way of saying that she's the boss around there. Is the cage too small for them? Then it might happen that she's not getting enough space. Is she older than him? Then again she's being bossy with him. There could be many more causes for aggression. It might happen that they are simply not compatible with each other. Just because they sit side by side and eat together doesn't mean they are compatible. In that case you need to find a different pair for them. If the aggression causes the male to become depressed, it is better to separate them lest he should get hurt. The cage should have enough space for the male budgie to take refuge from her rage. If she doesn't let him eat, then keep two food bowls. The best solution is to separate them.Hope it helps.

My budgie makes a squeaking sound?

Hi,
Budgies are very intelligent playful birds and make a wide range of noises. As long as your budgie is behaving normally they should be all right. Don't forget that they also have the ability to mimic other noises. So perhaps your budgie just heard something strange!
A good idea is to research some more about budgie noises if you're still uncertain. But I'm sure your budgie is fine.
Good luck!

My budgie is acting strange?

l agree with the other's that he might be missing his partner. It is up to you if you think your budgie should get another partner.
if you do get another budgie, just remember that you should quarantine the new budgie in a different cage and room, for at least 30 days before introducing it to your current budgie.
Quarantine is the best way in protecting your existing birds from the introduction of infectious disease. It is also to determine whether or not the new bird or birds are diseased and then to treat the problem.

My budgie's nose bleeding..!! help.!?

Maybe she got it stuck on something, if she is tame hold her and try to pat her cere with a clean tissue to try to stop the bleeding. Give her some fresh water and try to get her as comfortable as possible. No noises, no sunlight, and fresh air. You should also make sure there are no pointy objects or other birds around, as she might have gotten in a fight.
