Why Are My Legs Sore When I Jog Slow And Not Fast.

I have long legs and run slow?

everyone expects me to run really fast because of my long legs- but i don't have the explocivity that girls with short legs have and they are waaay faster than me. on 600m run i have 2:45 and they have 2:02 minutes! on 60 m it's even more embarrasing for me, they have 9, 8 seconds and i have 11, i try really hard and train but it doesn't work . what can i do? i asked my PE teacher and she said all above and that 90% you get from your parents, 10% you can train. WHAT CAN I DO TO BE FASTER? everyone says i run funny, but thats because i just try my best to make big steps in a short time, so i have less time. please help

Should I run with sore legs?

Yeah you can run but as my coach says, go for a "recovery run". This is just a really slow, gentle plod. The idea of this is to flush out any lactic & waste products & to esae your soreness. Don't be tempted to turn it into a fast, hard run or it will go against the whole point & make your legs worse. Its good that you are doing leg strengthening exercises(try the ski sit- back against the wall & thighs parallel to the floor, it canes!) as your legs will become stronger & will recover quicker in the future.

Why do my legs hurt while walking but not while running?

A2AWithout more specific info about what you mean by ‘hurt’, I’m just going to go with what happens to me!Obviously, I run a lot (marathon runner) and will quite happily cover 5–10 miles in a single run and not think anything of it. I enjoy walking, but I don’t do it anywhere near as much and if I walk 3–4 miles then I feel quite tired and my legs ache. I will often go for a walk and think how long it feels, and then realise that I would happily run twice as far! There are 2 issues (as far as I am aware) that make my legs ache more while walking than running:walking is slower (in my case, the same distance will take over twice the time!) so you are on your feet for a longer period of timeyour body gets used to things that you do a lot of. I run a lot, so my body is used to it; I don’t walk a lot, so it’s not used to that. [Remember that running and walking do actually use different muscles, and the same muscles in different ways]

Why do my legs hurt so bad while running?

A few reasons:You are running too much too fast way too soon. You need to slowly ease into running after not running for one year. Make sure you are not running on concrete but on a well patted track or road. Always warm up your legs properly for at least 5 min by doing mobility dynamic stretches. You can try this 5 min complete mobility warmup for your legs before you run: 4. Make sure that you are wearing proper foot wears.5. Make sure you foam roll your legs after you run and also spend at least 4 to 5 min to perform static stretch cool down to properly recover your legs muscles. Hopefully this helps :-)

I started jogging last week, breathing ok, but legs are sore... can't last more than 10mins... how to train?

I started jogging last week, at first i can't last more than 2 mins and then i ran out of breath. The next day, I decided to jog slower, and I lasted 10 mins.

For the next 2 days I jogged at a very slow pace and lasted 10 mins, not because I ran out of breath, but because my thigh felt very sore. It's the area above my knees at the front. That area was so sore I felt shaky when walking downstairs afterwards (on my way home after jogging).

At the pace I was going, I don't think I will run out of breath for hours, but I can't last more than 10 mins because my legs were sore and weak.

Am I jogging properly? I don't plan on increasing my speed anytime soon, I think this is a good pace for me, my heart pumps fast and I sweat a lot, but what can I do to get rid of this sore leg problem?

Today I can't jog that long because since the very start, my legs felt sore. This is the 3rd day in a row jogging in the park for me. Should I take a day off? I really want to jog for 30mins because stopping and I don't know how to train my legs... I don't feel sore walking normally, only when I start to jog that they feel sore.

Any advice will be greatly appreciate. Thanks!
