Why Are People So Against Esas

Why does NASA, ESA, ISRO spend so much in taking pictures, while there's hunger, poverty etc?

The US government spends about half a trillion dollars on programs for the poor. NASA's budget is less than 20 billion.

You can never completely eliminate poverty. If we stop funding scientific research until we eliminate poverty, we'll never fund any research. If we stop research funding, scientists and engineers will lose their jobs. If they lose their jobs and their organization shuts down, they stop spending money buying goods and services, so more people lose their jobs (look up the employment multiplier effect). If we stop doing research, then eventually we won't have any new technology (a lot of the technology we use was developed for the space program). Without new technology, industry stagnates, companies shut down, more people lose their jobs. With all these people out of work, poverty will just keep going up. But with more people unemployed and not paying taxes, there's less money to give to the poor.

Why are so many people opposed to permitting parents more choices in their children's education (school vouchers/ESAs)?

If you use the vouchers, the school can choose whether or not to accept you. They are not required to accept the vouchers as a free pass to enroll in their school. If the other school is more expensive and the voucher is not sufficient to cover the difference, YOU are required to pay the difference or they will decline to enroll your child. If the other school is at capacity, they can decline to enroll your child. If your child requires special education, either you pay for that privilege, or they decline to enroll your child. Or they can just decline because they do not want the hassle. There is also the very real possibility accepting or declining enrollment will be racially motivated with no means of recourse since you are not a voting member of that school district. When you stay in-district, the school is required to provide an education in accordance with the state approved curriculum, whatever the cost, whoever you are, whether or not they are at capacity, or there are any special education needs.

Why are people on Quora so much obsessed with software engineering and Google? Why is that very little people fancy NASA, ESA, Bell Labs, etc.?

If I answer that with honesty, and FACT, the FACT is that I would disappear without a trace!

Why would people with Emotional support Animals (ESA’s) intentionally abuse the name of “service animal” in public, particularly in hotels? Too cheap to pay a pet fee or simply ignorant of what a Service Animal actually is?

I noticed an large uptick in fake service dogs AKA emotional support animals (ESA) after Cesar Millan presented a show on the groups that provide “papers” and vests so you can make your dog a “service animal” his lack of understanding of the difference between a Service or Assistance Animal and Emotional Support Animal (which is different from a PTSD dog which is classified as a service animal because they provide services such as waking from night terrors, support during an Anxiety attack, standing behind them so no one can come up behind, and so on) was and is a problem. He said he had his pit bull Daddy made into a service dog when in reality he was an ESA, not a Service Dog. I then started seeing their ads on FB and other places about turning your dog into a service dog and now we have legitimate service dogs and humans being attacked by these fake SA. One even had a “as seen on the Dog Whisperer”I have had people call about turning their dog into a service animal so they can keep it in the house or apt they were in-when I asked what services they needed trained, there weren’t any, or as one man said I don’t know, be my son’s friend? It is also selfishness trying to pass an ill mannered pet off as a SA -at least train them. I for one would be thankful not to need one.

Is my ESA a stray?

I found this cat hunting around my apartment complex. He would usually only come out when no one was there, but sometimes he would come to the bus stop and bug the middle schoolers by begging for food.

No one in my apartment complex knew who this cat was and everyone just assumed that it was a street cat around for the food in the winter.

I took this cat in when I just came back from a baseball game in the middle of the night and he looked sick.

He wasn't neutered or declawed and no one anywhere in my state had claimed that this cat was theirs and it had gotten lost or something.

He now follows me around everywhere and doesn't trust anyone besides me.

I named him after going to the vet and my therapist suggested that he becomes my ESA (emotional support animal) for my depression, social anxiety, and agoraphobia since the medications didn't really have an effect on me.

I took him to the vet to get his shots and see if he has any fleas and whatnot and he was all good.

I'm getting his microchip next week, but I have this fear that his old owner (if he had one) would want to come take him back, which I can completely understand, having lost a pet in the past. I have bonded more with this cat than any other pet or human (besides my girlfriend and mom) and I guess I'm just afraid of loosing him.

Do you guys think he's a stray, lost cat, or something else? Please be nice, i'm not very good with social things even over the internet.

Are Tuomas Holopainen and Esa Holopainen somehow related?

Just because two people share the same surname, that doesn't necessarily mean they're related. Not every Miller, for instance, is related to every other Miller, and neither is every Holopainen related to every other person with that surname, directly or indirectly.

Can an ESA be taken away due to noise complaints?

I recently just got an ESA for my anxiety and depression and he s helping a ton. We live in an apartment and he s a big dog with a lot of energy so we take him on multiple walks a day, but sometimes he gets excited and wants to play in the apartment.
Our downstairs neighbors just threatened to call the cops on us because of him and I m just wondering if he can be taken away?
If I don t have him, I have severe panic attacks and recently just had one that ended in me passing out and not breathing for 3 minutes- basically they get worse and worse each time I have one. Since I ve had the dog, I haven t had a single one.
We are putting him in obedience classes next week so he ll chill out. But yeah can an ESA be taken away for noise complaints?

When a gang member calls another gang member an “Esa” or “SA” What does it mean?

It is written ESE because it is the sound of the letter S in Spanish. S for sureano meaning southerner! It is often used by gang members(Mexican American/Chicanos) mostly in California to refer to their fellow members or friends. It is not, however, used by Mexicans in Mexico nor is it typically used by Mexicans that move to the US. They will be very offended by the term! The word can also be offensive if you are not Hispanic. (It is like using the N word for a friend and you are not black!) Do not assume all Hispanics are Mexican or that all Mexican use this word so my advice is not to use it!

My husband and both brother in laws HATE this word and they are from Mexico!

Why did ESA design propulsion for Orion when ESA never had their own rocket to launch people into space? Do they think it will increase their chance of having one of their own astronauts on the first Mars mission? Only NASA sent humans to the moon.

But since years NASA didn’t sent anyway in the space, and also in the near future it will be so, maybe you should recheck your question and to discover how to send people in space. So your argument if flawed: because in past US did it, it can do it in the future (and remember last human caring vehicle constructed for NASA is the worst vehicle in the history for safety. Additionally, if you checkout space industry in US, you will find than actually only SpaceX has powerful space engine made in US. NASA tried for Constellation and Orion to reuse some Apollo and STS engines. But no, the reason is an other: NASA has huge problem with budget, so having reliable partners help NASA to get program going on. (On ESA, usually a mission program is budgeted, and money is reserved (for various years in advance), instead on NASA, there is a yearly budget, so no long term investment (and so much more extra costs). So: the main reason: costs: NASA cannot afford it alone. Second reason: since ending of Apollo in US and fall of USSR there were lack of rocket engineers, so many space travel knowledge were lost (we know the design, but we lost many of reason why they made in such manner and not in an other manner). So NASA alone will never get to moon or mars (“never” is strong, but for next 40 years for sure). They are keeping contacts with ESA, Roscosmos, and private US space companies to make project together.
