Why Are People So Anti-family These Days

Why is Brazilian music so bad these days?

There is good music being done, but you are probably looking for it on the wrong places - which, now, are the traditional places.Used to be you'd find good music in radio and TV shows, curated and promoted by the biggest labels. Forget it.With the advertising and album sales models broken, they pander to the lowest common denominator. Now, musicians are going online. All the streaming services have the latest good independent music. Check Borghetti/YamandĂș duo, a virtuosistic instrumental new album from Rio Grande do Sul.Or Acid Tree, which sings in English but has a studio a couple of km away from where I am now.Used to be you'd find good new music in night clubs, with new musicians cutting their teeth and growing in front of audiences. Forget it.People don't go to night clubs to watch musicians play. They go to eat (whatever damn soap opera soundtrack the guitar man seems to play on background), they go to flirt (whatever oldies the band may be playing), they go to shake their devils away (here's funk carioca for you). Now, creative musicians are either getting any spot they can in public halls like the SESCs in Sao Paulo or they are taking to the streets. Some of the best new bands I've seen were busking at Avenida Paulista on Sunday afternoons. So, good music is alive and well. You just won't find it in the traditional channels.

Why do people give up so easily on relationships nowadays? Are we becoming more and more selfish?

Yes. People are becoming more selfish these days. Whenever something bad happens in a relationship or the boy or the girl commits some random or big mistake. They neither admit nor take responsibility of that fucking stupid thing they have done. They just say goodbye because that's the easy way out. Initially, people make excuses and will blame you for overthinking and being mad all the time. But Once you become fully aware of something bad they are doing to you. They will say “Fuck it yaar. Our relationship is not working anymore. Let's drop it.”Hahahaha I mean really? You're gonna walk out of this because it's your fucking fault and you are not even sorry. Well good for you.People just don't wanna work or try anymore. I don't know whether it's the laziness or the selfishness. They will love you, care for you and do everything for you if it is convenient for them. For example - My ex drove for like 7 hours just to meet me. Because he was free. He had no work. He enjoyed . He came along with his friends. They had soo much fun. But when after 1 year and 2 months I asked him to meet me and I was just 5 minutes away from his college. Literally 5 minutes. He didn't come. That shit hurt. You wanna know whyyyy? Because he found someone in his own college. And ta-daa! That was fucking more convenient. I mean being with that girl was easier than meeting me.I remember what my mother said to me. And I would like to share.“Sakshi, My marriage worked for all these years because your father and I never stopped forgiving each other. Yes. We both made a lot of mistakes but we corrected them. We never repeated them. I filed divorce against him but He came for me, he apologized. He won me back. That's what every girl or a boy in a relationship should do. We all make mistakes. But we become a better person when we admit them and rectify them to improve our relationship.”Yes this world is beautiful and You will find more attractive things every fucking day and you will wish to have them. Own them. You will meet new people. Just like that you will ignore people who were already with you. People who invested their precious time in you. And they will obviously feel bad or get hurt. Why? Because you fucking can't control your hormones. Haha. Fair enough!IT IS BETTER TO APPRECIATE AND FEEL GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE.Make your loved ones smile once a day. Trust me, you will fall for that smile again!

Why do people still have cable in 2018?

Many Americans live in areas where they don't have access to fast internet. Over 19,000,000 Americans have no access to broadband. Their only options are dial up and satellite, both of them being too slow for streaming video. With cable TV they can at least watch television.

Why do some people hate the USA?

I don’t think EVERYONE hates America. If everyone did, we would have far less immigration (legal and illegal - though much of it maybe economically motivated a lot isn’t) If everyone hated America, America would not be an invited member of so many international conferences and agreements. If everyone HATED America the rest of the world could get together, and eventually (largely by embargo) economically and militarily defeat the USA.America is the worlds super power, and does at times throw its ‘weight’ around a bit when it isn't wanted, and refuses to do so when sometimes it is wanted. The USA has become the scapegoat of the Arab Muslim world because of their issue with Israel and seeing American led western culture influencing their youth and undercutting cultural norms that had been long established. Similar issues can be found to greater or lesser extent everywhere in the world. But what is strikingly odd, is how some of the USA's worst enemies became over time some of its closest friends. Britain and France and the USA during the forming of the USA have a very tense relationship at different times (the ‘French and Indian’ war, the ‘revolutionary’ war, the french revolution, the war of 1812 to name a few.) The war(s) with Mexico. Then with World War 1 and 2 Japan, Spain, and Germany. Enemies who had differing levels of hate for the USA but now have a strongly friendly relationship.IMHO (opinion only) Many peoples PRETEND hatred toward the USA and PRETEND that they have been most horribly wronged in some way because the people (or some segment) of the USA will often bend over backward (not always though) to try to make it up the hurt and offended peoples. On the other hand America also quite rightly has a reputation for not noticing or ignoring many subtleties and just being both blunt and arrogant (sorry for the arrogance, it is pretty hard not to be when you are just THIS GOOD! mostly kidding).

Why is society so misogynistic these days?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV6Vq_RRs0c

Look at the hate comments towards this cute little girl. One of the comments said that he wanted to punch her.

People say that this girl is being entitled when she cares about another living being; the kitten. She is not whining about a toy.

People comment positively towards cute animals, they comment positively towards men, but people are just so vile towards women these days.

Why are some people still so afraid to test for HIV when it’s no longer a death sentence?

I can give you some reasons that I think are reasons people are afraid to test for HIV even though it’s no longer a death sentence.Stigma.Enormous stigma still attaches to an HIV positive status in most every part of the world.— In the US, people still take being HIV positive as evidence of being gay. Being openly identified as gay is still stigmatized in the US. Fully 25% of Americans think same-sex sexual relations are unacceptable. Thirty-three percent think same-sex marriage should not be legally recognized. To many American minds, being gay means, one has indiscriminate, casual sex which means, one is a person of loose morals.Being HIV positive means, one is an IV drug addict, a prostitute, an actor in the adult porn industry, or a heterosexual person who has a lot of casual sex. Of course, there’s good reason for these associations. These are the primary transmission vectors for HIV.— In India, for example, it’s my understanding that stigma attaches to anyone openly gay, from the time of prudish English colonial rule. Being gay could mean loss of job, of housing, of family structure, and most importantly, loss of one’s self-esteem. Again, better not to know.— In Africa. Prostitution is the primary transmission vector. Being known to be HIV positive is to be known to be a prostitute or one who uses prostitutes.Denial.— Anywhere. I think too that some people are in denial about their being gay, or a slut, or an habitual IV drug user. Their minds are remarkably adept at telling them that they are just men who have sex with men, they’re not really gay. Or, that they’re not an addict. It was only this last time and anyway they can quit when they want to.Denial is a powerful motivator not to get tested. Testing positive would mean one could no longer deny the facts to oneself. One would have to face the truth which is too horrible. Better not to know.Money.— Anywhere, People who have no access to affordable health care or affordable health insurance have no access to HIV medications. Without the prospect of effective treatment, there is no sense in knowing whether one is positive but one. Knowing one was positive would allow one to know not to have unsafe sex, not to run the risk of infecting someone else. Unfortunately, many infected people with no hope of treatment care not whether they infect someone else.

Why are there so many people who absolutely hate George W. Bush?

President Bush was the recipient of a very intense type of vitriol, even more than what Republican presidents typically receive. There are two factors unique to his presidency that magnified this to such a level. First was the nature of the 2000 election. The astoundingly close vote in Florida, the recount controversies, the involvement of the Supreme Court, and the fact that Gore won the popular vote poisoned the well for many on the left. After this, it was apparent that Bush was going to be hated by certain sects regardless of what he actually did in office. The other factor was the Iraq war. The decision to go to war with Iraq represented a enormous change in US foreign policy. The idea of a preemptive war was extremely controversial, despite being supported by a majority of Americans and Congress. This controversy likely would have faded had the war been a success. However, as we know it was far more difficult, and cost more lives and money, than was anticipated. As troubles mounted, politicians who voted for the war quickly backed off and tried to reinvent themselves as war critics. (Ahem Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton) Blaming the president for the whole thing was the politically expedient path. And the fairy tale that President Bush fooled the nation into going to war was quickly accepted by those who already didn't like him or were against the war. (Not to mention conspiracy theories based on oil/profits being the reason for the war) These two factors fed into each other. (Imagine the rage of those who felt like the election was stolen from Gore, were against going to war, and then watched Bush win reelection against Kerry in 2004 despite it all) People (by no means limited to the left) tend to take out their political anger with personal attacks or ridiculous conspiracy theories. (We see this today with the Birthers) What you saw against President Bush was this kind of irrational anger. This is opposed to completely valid policy criticisms, which President Bush deserved. Also, as far as his intelligence is concerned, this article is worthwhile reading:George W. Bush is smarter than you

Why are people so mean to Jehovah's Witness believers when they come to their door?

Let me begin by saying: my first wife was and is one year younger than I. Also, my hair turned prematurely gray in my 20's. How is that relevant? Let me explain. We bought our first home in a quiet suburban community in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.About once a month, Jehovah's Witnesses would knock on our door. Lori had a part-time job on weekends and the kids were young, so I would be the one who answered the knock.I'm usually kind of laid-back, so I was always polite and respectful to them. I'm an atheist, and I wasn't going to be swayed by a door-to-door proselytizer, but I would speak briefly with them, advise them of my religious orientation, accept their literature nonetheless, and wish them a good day. This happened on a regular basis. One weekend Lori didn't go to work, and she answered the door.Lori isn't laid-back. At all! And she wasn't disposed to converse with Jehovah's Witnesses. As soon as the visitor opened his mouth, she lit into him. I was in the basement, but I heard some words and phrases through the floor."Pain in the ass!""Disturbing my peace!""Phony religion!""Polygamist!" (Huh?)"Communist!""Get off my property!""Calling the police"I was coming up the stairs to act as a peacemaker, and was really feeling sorry for the Witnesses, who had inadvertently stumbled into a one-sided dogfight. They had stepped away from the door and were beginning a strategic retreat when the man turned around and said this to Lori:"Please believe me when I say that I'm sorry we disturbed you. I was kind of surprised. We have stopped here several times and have always enjoyed our conversations with your father.""My FATHER?" Lori burst into uncontrollable laughter. "MY FATHER?"I was 31 years old. She was 30. Her father?I experienced unrelenting "old man" jokes from her and my in-laws for the next 15 years. And, you can call me a grudge-holder, because I never again opened my door to Jehovah's Witnesses.

Are there a lot less people answering questions on Quora these days? What happened?

Limited Questioning, the whole “Get the app thing” which was a awful freaking idea. The fact that you can't go all out with what you wanna say, even if the person your discussing with dosent see your language as rude it matters if quora does so there's that. A lot of answers are googlable. Really really stupid questions. Just all around less enjoyable. I'm just back temporarily to see what's happening. Which is nothing much.

Why are people already putting gifts under the Christmas tree when Christmas is 10 days away? Isn't that super materialistic?

When my parents would tell my dad's family that they were pregnant, Dad's mom would get busy and make a quilt top for the new baby. She would then send/give these to my mom, who would put them safely into her cedar chest where they would be safe from whatever might cause them damage over the years. One year for Christmas, she pulled 3 of them out and took them to a local church to have them quilted. So, in early December, a large box appeared under the tree. What was really odd about it was the tag attached said to Peggy, MaryLou, and Judy. When I asked Mom about it, she said it was just 1 thing in the box, but it was for all of us. At this time, Peggy lived in Houston, MaryLou lived across town and I still lived with my parents. Needless to say, we were all confused as to what something that we could all use and enjoy living in 3 different places could possibly be. We were totally and completely stumped. None of us had the slightist clue.Boy were we surprised on Christmas morning when we opened the big box and found 3 garbage bags with bows on them. There was 1 for each of us. When we brought to Mom's attention that there was more than 1 thing in the box, she said that technically, there was only 1 thing in the box, there was just 3 of it.In that case, it was ok to put something under the tree early, it helped build the excitement and anticipation. None of us thought of it being materialistic, just fun trying to figure out what was in the box.
