Why are people so heartless towards animals?
(not all people obviously) I just read the story "Ugly the cat" and I was only halfway through it when I started crying my eyes out. I wanted to hurt all the people who hurt Ugly (the cat) and all the people who have or who do abuse animals. It makes me lose faith in humanity and it makes me so depressed that people can do such a thing to poor animals who usually can't protect themselves. I know part of it is they feel power because the animals can't protect themselves/are smaller than them, but what else causes people to hurt these poor animals who want to be loved or in the case of feral animals, want to survive.

Congratulations, you are anti social. Im like that too, even in the lady gaga video telephone. I was laughing when all the people in the diner were dying...oh but then I saw 1 dead dog and I felt sorry for him...even if it was fake. That's how crazy I am. I also want to join the army because I wouldn't mind killing people. Yet im a vegetarian, volunteer at an animal shelter and im all for animal rights. I just don't like most people... I think humans are selfish, mean, arrogant people who only give a sh!t about themselves. I got screwed over so many times that now I don't give a sh!!t about anyones feelings.
Why are people so cruel? How can they kill animals so heartlessly and call it celebrating a festival?
The thing is that people who do such things have been "conditioned" to do it since childhood. A person who was raised in a normal household ( even if he eats meat ) will most probably NOT be able to kill an animal. A child's brain is like a "mold" of clay. You can shape it whatever way you want. Religion plays another factor in it. Religion makes people do things which other non-religious people will find offensive and insane. Religion "destroys" the "guilt" factor in humans by making them think they are doing the right thing.I myself am a vegan and never eat nor use animal products and i hate seeing animals suffer. Others can do so because they have been "seeing/experiencing" it since childhood and have become impervious to such things.

As a person who has been called „heartless“ for many years, what I would really like to say to this question is WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY HEARTLESS???I am called heartless because I’m mostly indifferent to daily life problems, I often find people’s overthinking to be unnecessarily, while I do understand it’s what it is and in some cases they aren’t able to change it, I still don’t genuinely feel for them being upset about very insignificant things as we as a world have much bigger issues.I am also named „heartless“ because I’m distant, calm and collected. Which I cannot comprehend because that’s just my behavior/reaction pattern and has nothing to do with me having a heart / emotions or not..and the third case is relationships, which also are very personal and everybody is different.Don‘t just walk around labeling people heartless unless they are violent for no reason, hate people and animals and you know do really evil things; not everybody need to react to things the way you’d like them to.

Why do people hurt animals?
It’s because humans are the worst species that ever lived. The super-villain.No species kills or consume in a massive scale like we do. No other species can alter the state of the environment like we do.When animals kills to survive, we call it wild and barbarous. But when we kill in a massive scale, we call it tradition, and we embrace it, because that we like to stimulate our taste buds. And the very few who questions tradition are taunted as mentally unstable. Guess what? We are the only species that raise life to kill it.If I told you the story of our planet, we humans, the ultimate fuc*ers, will always be the villain. And just like all villains, we just can’t accept that we are wrong, or that we are cruel.And it disgusts me to realize that it’s impossible to change our ways. We can’t do anything because we are still just another creature thriving among many others. We won’t stop until we finish the last drop of fossil fuel, pollute the last breath of air and poison the last drop of water.Yes, we won’t stop until we blow up ourselves and our planet. It has been leading up to this. We are on the brink.
