Why Are People Such Hypocrites About Piercings

Why are people mostly hypocrites?

The world is/was always full of hypocrites. But why do people turn into hypocrisy ? So as to serve their selfish interests. Hypocrisy is a derivative of fixed/rigid mentality, that is — once you have decided to have a certain charter of ethics , rules , morals and values to be followed, you wish to stick to them indefinitely and will go on to any length to defend/justify them and in the process of doing so, end up giving such logic that could potentially backfire but then you also choose when/where/how to apply the logic/reasoning which ends up creating hypocrisy. But why such an urge ???Because admitting that your charter of ethics , rules , morals and values was slightly wrong is unsettling , it makes you feel that you were a fool , naive , misguided and insufficient which nobody likes to feel.Because it can be used as a tool to hide your shortcomings , irresponsibility , ineffectiveness while conveniently putting the responsibilty of creating peace, harmony on others ( how? by asking others to tow in line and not bulging yourself a bit )Because blaming/shaming/ostracizing someone different from you ( in terms of opinion , race/ethnicity , sex , religion , age-group ) gives you a false sense of supremacy.Because the actual reason of disagreement is something else and you can pretend to be a mature person by showing people that your disagreement is on the basis of certain rules and morals ( anything that looks logical ) and hide that your disagreement is just because of plain hatred/jealousy towards that person. These were the reasons that give rise to hypocrisy. For knowing how to beat hypocrisy or how to prevent becoming a hypocrite, I’ll write a different answer.

Why are people such hypocrites?

People just blunder around thinking they are the center of the Universe, they are incapable of putting themselves in other people's shoes...so you have the outrageous behavior and when it gets to be too often and too much, it gets tiresome...people also live in a personal fantasy and do not live in reality...I suppose they think they are being honest but they aren't...their fantasy is not in sync with reality.

Why are humans such hypocrites?

People generally think that an individual's effort in such worldly causes is insignificant and it is for others to do such acts. They are also not comfortable about shedding their habits and will not fall in line unless they are legally compelled to.However, getting a job, earning money, marriage, bearing children and owning a house, car etc. are normal acts and not acts of greed.

Why do people do tattoos and body piercings?

It surprises me a bit that none of the answers so far has mentioned the obvious: because they appreciate art and enjoy having something they consider beautiful on their body. It's a myth that most tattoed people do it for the effect their tattoos have on others. Most (at least those with high quality tattoos) do it for themselves, to enjoy having great works of art on their body.Of course, there is as huge a variety of reasons as there are quality levels and styles, and some people (mostly younger ones) surely do it for "shock value", but the first and foremost reason is "they like how the tattoos look". You can't compare the twenty-something girl with one of the trendy feather/bird/infinity-tattoos nearly all of their frieds have a variety of to some guy who runs to the first tattoo shop when he hits 18 to show off what a badass he is (and wishes to have at least chosen a better artist some years down the road), to a middle-aged woman who gets a photorealistic tattoo of an iguana, to the elderly guy who is finishing his traditional bodysuit at 70. Four people, four completely different styles, reasons, ways of life. But the group I know most people of are those who made informed decisions about their tattoos, waited months or even years for the artist of their chosing and spend hundreds or (more likely) thousands of Euros to get the quality from the artist they aimed for. Many of those are middle aged, have professions that allow them to spend this amount of money on body art and a few even travel abroad to get tattooed by those whose art they love. They are tattoo enthusiasts and art lovers. Simple as that. :)

Is my mom being a hypocrite?

See she has piercings and I like to get them too. I already have three in each ear, nose, and bellybutton. But she also has her clitoris pierced and I want one too. But she won't let me. She says I have to wait until I'm older and won't sign for this one.

Isn't she being a hypocrite? If I point this out and you all agree I want to prove to her!
