Why Are Some Deal Store Signs Red And Some Are Green

Why should you treat a red light like a stop sign if you're turning right?

Making a right on red is merging into traffic not crossing it. It seems silly to make them wait. Pedestrians also cross the street on the green lights, so the cars can't turn right on green when there are people crossing the street.

Why would my apples go from red to green?

Fruits aren't dead, they are fully independent living parts of plants. It's likely your apples changed color because they were reacting to their environment. For example in order to increase longevity, apples are often picked before they ripen. Then once they have been shipped to their final destination, they are placed in a room where a type of gas production lamp is lit. This lamp produces ethylene gas, which is actually a plant hormone and stimulates the fruits to continue ripening until they are nice and red.Plant aging is actually pretty interesting, it dates back thousands of years to ancient Egyptians. Also sometimes if it is pushed too fast, aging can be rolled back in the absence of sufficient ethylene. So when you put it in fresh air your fruit actually 'youthened' if that makes any sense.

Why is the Walgreens logo red, and not green?

Well, there’s more to colour selection in branding than basing your choice around the fact a brand name may contain the name of a colour within it.Being British I’m not all that familiar with Walgreens. However, a little google search tells me that it was changed from grey to red to stand out more to passing cars / customers. As a drug store (English: chemist) you’d expect the natural choice to be either green or blue which in a western setting is typically symbolic of health / trust. Most other pharmaceutical businesses will usually employ branding in these colours for this reason.By choosing to go to the other end of the spectrum with red Walgreens achieves a, possibly unintentional, victory in that it has had long enough to establish its brand that it doesn’t need to concern itself as heavily as others may on the psychology of colour in their branding.By not being tied too closely to such concerns and going with red then not only do they achieve their initial aim of standing out to passers by but also in standing out from it’s competitors who will mostly all use a completely different colour pallette.Of course they have history on their side in being able to do this as they were an established and recognisable brand before the colour change, if they were a startup today their branding may not be as effective without such pre existing public awareness. Thanks for the A2A. Hope this helps.

Why are Christmas decorations always red and green in color?

I am more sure about the green. In the farther north Europen nations autumn and winter come early. The green of summer had turned brown and much of it had died down or been buried under snow. Yet Christmas celebrates the birth of the Lord of Life, the victor over sin and death, so what better decorations then wreaths or roping made of green plants? Indeed just as Christ rose over death, evergreen plants seem to do the same. Green is the color of new life and will be central to the feasts of spring.Red is less obvious, but I would say that it is not as much related to berries and fruits dried for use in the winter, but to the color of fire. I don't accept that people actually thought that lighting a fire on earth would help fuel the sun, the classical pagans knew a good deal more than that. Still, we light candlles and light our fireplaces around the holidays. Even if we have replaced fires with electric lights and added other colors, we still are saying to the dark, "You cannot win. Light will return. Christ, the Light of the World, is born."Now these are not the only Christmas colors. The liturgical colors are white and gold. I have seen green and white combined, and there are, of course, silver bells. Still, it is hard to fault holly green and hollyberry red.

Why are vegetables green?

Not all vegetables are green. Some are red, some are yellow, some are orange.
It's usually about what's in them and what nutrients they have.
The darker the color, usually the more nutritious.

In the stock chart, what do the red and green lines mean? which one is for "selling" and "Buying?"?

Hi there,
Penny stocks, also known as cent stocks in some countries, are common shares of small public companies that trade at low prices per share. They are notoriously risky but if you follow a special method I've learned you can earn good money at almost no risk. This is the site I use: http://pennystocks.toptips.org

I definitely recommend subscribing to this site in particular. Very good research, quality stocks. I was a bit weary of penny stocks from all the bad hype they receive but this guy is pretty legit. He's put my mind at ease with a lot of the fears I've had. I especially like that he doesn't send out announcements left and right. I've signed up for other websites that fill my in-box with one company after the other. I don't know where to even start with so many choices in front of me! Nathan sends me one idea a week and that's all I need. Working so many hours during the week leaves me with very little time when I get home to start doing tons of penny stock research. I'm always eager to see what Nathan's next suggestion is each Friday and I love having time on the weekend to do my research.

As said above if you want to make money with penny stocks you have to follow some proven methods. This one in my opinion is the best: http://pennystocks.toptips.org

My tomato is green on the inside is it safe to eat?

Briana's answer and link is one of the more bizarre things I've ever seen online, and being on this site, that's saying something. Simply because it's online doesn't mean it's true.

Can you eat it? Of course. But the real question is do you want to eat it?

I can think of a couple of varieties of tomatoes that do that. It would have been helpful had you told what variety you have. If it's a traditional - beefsteak, patio, Better-Boy, etc. - then you might not want to eat it. Yes, fried green tomatoes are delicious, but because they are cooked first, which softens the toughness of a traditional green tomato, so that wasn't really a full answer.

So, obvious thought - why not taste it and see if you like it? It won't kill you. It won't even make you sick. (Well, assuming you're not allergic to tomatoes.) It might make you want to spit it out though, because it's too tough. It also might be a great tasting tomato. Only way to find out is try it.

Why are some FedEx logos green and others orange?

It denotes which fedex it is…The original company which is the Express service has the EX in orangeThe old RPS that was bought has been converted to the Ground shipping and they have the EX in bright greenThe Home delivery company which is sort of a sub-set of the Ground company has the EX in light blueThe Freight company that hauls shipments on pallets has the EX in redThe Custom Critical division which is point-to-point delivery of fragile, expensive or restricted items has the EX in dark blueThe Corporate division such as Fedex Office has the EX in sliver/grayThe plan is to convert all of these over to orange within a couple of years, I can only guess this minor difference was giving the customers too much information and ruining the confusion.

What does a green light on your front porch mean ?

I never knew that colored lights signified anything. I always have different colored lights on at night on my porch purely because I like the colors. When I was about six my parents bought me a purple light for my room, and I've just kept up with it. I put up orange, green, pink, red, yellow, blue, purple and so on. Although I don't turn mine on in the daytime, only at night.
P.S. I've just got to say this is the first time I've ever seen a question on YA say it is a decade old :)

Why are some olives green and others black?

"Black" olives are fermented and ripened green olives.

At least this is what I remember from working at Papa John's where they made you learn about all their products.
