Why Are The June Grade Boundaries Lower Than The January Ones

Can you be a different age in different countries?

An interesting question.  The more obvious answer is no...you are the same age, regardless of where you life. However, from a legal perspective, the answer would actually be 'yes', at least in some situations.  For example, consider a country where the legal age of consent is 16 years old.  If a man has sex with a girl before she turns 16, even if it is only one day before her birthday, he has technically broken the law.So, let's assume that a particular girl was born on June 1.  She celebrates her birthday at 2:00 in the morning on June 1 in the country that she is in.  In that country, because it is June 1, it would be legal for someone to have sex with her.But she then hops on a plane, and flies to a country where it is still May 31, because of the time zone differences.  Now, if someone has sex with her before midnight in that country, it would technically be illegal. Thus, although she is obviously the same age in both countries, from a strictly legal perspective, she would actually be regarded as being two different ages at the same time, depending on where she was.

Does the IB predicted grade matter more to colleges than your final grade?

Considering that IB grades come out on June 6th of every year, and University applications would be due early january for some, and even October of the previous year for those applying to the UK, IB predicted grades are - in a way - the only evidence of your academic performance in senior year. They tell the university what to expect, and what grade you probably will be recieiving at the end of your diploma. Keep in mind, there often might be gaps between your predicted grades and your actual ones - whether for the better or worse. Here’s where conditional acceptances from universities play a role…At the end of the day, you want to make sure that you give your teacher enough evidence for him to jot down a high predicted grade. This includes high test scores, strong work ethics, phenomenal performance under stress and pressure, and an overall trend of high performance throughout your junior and senior year!Best of wishes to us all!

What are the different pay scales and grade pay for government jobs in India and what do they mean?

In government jobs in India, there are standard pay scales for different rank. The Grade Pay concept introduced in the Sixth Pay Commission has now been dispensed with the new concept of Pay Matrix by the 7th Pay Commission (7pc).  Since the new pay scale is to be applicable from 1st January 2016, let me explain the features of these new pay scales. There are 18 levels of Pay Scales which decides your Basic Pay (BP). The column (Index -1) shows the stating pay in that scale. The lowest pay is Rs 18000 (Level 1) and the highest for Cabinet Secretary is Rs 250,000 (Level 18)When you join, your salary starts from the lowest row and move to the next row in the following year. The increment rate of BP is around 3% per annum. When you are promoted, you go to the next column and your pay is fixed after giving you one extra-increment and then fixed on the pay which is next higher to this. This is in short the method to find BP. The starting g BP for Class I officer like IAS, IPS is Scale 10 @ Rs 56100 and class IV employee like peon start with Scale 1.This is in short about the calculation of BP of government employees. You can know more about it by reading the report of 7pc on 7th Pay Commission New Pay Scales from 1st Jan 2016 as Per 7th Pay Commission Report In addition to the BP, a central government employee also gets following allowancesDearness Allowance (DA): It is announced every six month effective from January and JulyTransport Allowance or a vehicle to come from home to officeHouse Rent Allowance (HRA) or a a government accommodationReimbursement of telephone billsChildren education allowance @ Rs1500 per child (up two)Medical reimbursement (actual)Leave Travel Concession (LTC) to visit your hometown or any part of Indian every two yearsPension (if joined before New Pension Scheme i.e. January 2004)The BP of state government is same but the allowances vary from state to state.
