Why are there so many double-standards?

Okay for instance. A lot of younger guys cuss right? Whether its a lot or every once in a while it doesn't matter. But guys say they HATE when girls cuss cause its "un-classy." A good bit of guys sleep around with different girls... but if a girl does it, she's a slutty whore. And those same guys who sleep around wouldn't go near a slut! A lot of guys drink beer regulary bit if a girl drinks regulary it seems manly and dis-tasteful. If a guy fights some dude at a bar he's a badass. If a girl fights another girl for the same reason she's trash. If a girl hits a guy hard its OK, but if a guy hits back just as hard he gets the cops called! Why do these double-standards exist??

Why are there so many double standards for men and women regarding fashion?

it really makes NO sense to me. men to society MUST wear things that cover up our legs at least minimum to below the knees as if we are ashamed to have our legs. our clothes in general are extremely rigged and hard to move in and lack variety when you compare mens clothes to womens clothes. If a man wears a pair of short shorts then hes either GAY or just plain weird and so what if he IS gay should that matter? yet when a woman wears a pair of mens shorts she's looks at no different than if she wore a pair of womens shorts. it makes absolutely no sense to me and i for one think this kinda crap needs to be put to an end. why is it the world says "wear what you want to wear" yet when you DO people criticize you and give you weird looks and all that kinda crap that makes no sense. Especially when it comes to people who A: don't know you B:never interact with you directly C: don't care for you or your life because of the previous 2 notions of not knowing you or interacting with you. i'm seriously pissed off about this subject because everyone gives me the same dam answers.

and women think they have it oh so rough because of how society pressures them yet in this day and age all the pressure is on men be them straight gay or bi all the pressure is on men and even then back in the day women weren't ever really seen the same way men were all the pressure was generally always put on men to be the same as all other men. ADHERE TO THE STANDARD OR BE RIDICULED yet women weren't paid much attention to and even if you see that as insulting that gave women far more freedom to do as they wished in their free time because no one paid attention to their actions like that. why would women want to fight for the right to be under the same pressure?

Why are there so many double-standards about racism in America?

I feel exactly the same way about these kind of issues. My belief about people who act like this is usually due to ignorance, Stupidity and having low education. The way that I see this - Since this also happens all over the world is that- people of different Race's and nationality with low education, act like this because they want to be better than other people, even though that here in America everything is supposed to be equal for every one of different Nationalities and cultures. But some people like "gang members" and "low educated" people act like this because they want to make America to go by their rules or ( The Rules of their Native Countries ) Which is pathetic. And to me as an American is really disrespectful to my Country - by coming here and not wanting to abide by our rules but just wanting to play by the rules of their own country instead. So really white americans should not only be punished for being racist, but also the Hispanics, African Americans, Middle Easterners and people of different nationalities who display Racist behaviors - they should either be corrected or deported if they don't like our rules here in America. Now as Far as slurs being racist when white people use them - it is ridiculous for the fact that any one of any culture could use a racist slur. However people who do use those kind of slurs either - where not properly raised nor educated by their parents, have low education, Brainless, Ignorants, low lives and complete idiots. Instead of Embracing this country for allowing people of different Nationalities to make a new life here and appreciate this country for giving more than their native countries give then - Most people after they have gain their citizen here in America, they star being direspectful to us and then try to act like they can take over. Which would be impossible for them to do.

Why do we all have so many Double Standards?

Why is it ok for:
Women to wear mens boxers but a man will get made fun of if he wears a thong.
Women to wear men sneakers but a man will get beat if he wears high heels.
Women to wear a mans tee shirt but if a man wears a silk rhinestone top he will be called names.
Schools allow Hispanic and African America groups but if a german wanted to start a club they would not allow it because it is "racist."
A guy to sing in a high pitched girly voice but if a girl sings deep like a man she is laughed at.
A girl can shave her legs but if a guy shaves he is "gay."

I'm sure you get my point so far but I'm just curious to understand why society has such a strong case of dubble standards.

Why do parents have so many double standards?!?

because they're your parents and they can,lol. they do seem over the top with you though,a lot of parents see girls as more responsibility than boys .And their son getting someone else's daughter pregnant isn't as bad as their daughter getting pregnant,which is a very bad attitude to have not just for the obvious reasons but for sexual health reasons too,most parents tell their daughters they will throw them out if they get pregnant but don't mean it,its mostly just a scare tactic.try talking to them when your all in a good mood,not in the heat of the moment,when your all fraught.make them a cup of tea and ask if you can talk to them without shouting and when you ask them a question let them finish without butting in,and ask them respectfully to do the same for you or maybe talk to the one whose easier to talk to alone.if you really cant talk to them,write them a letter and give it to them when your on your way out to school,then they have all day to think about your points,tell them you understand they're concerns for you but you need to be able to grow abit,don't rant and demand,show them how mature you can be. but at the same time don't be in such a rush to grow up,being grown up isn't all its cracked up to be.they are right to be concerned and impose some ground rules,girls and boys do tend to do too many grown up things far too soon these days,but there is also over the top rules too.try starting small and building up,as in forget about the boys for now and try to get them to let you go to your friends,its all about compromise on both sides,and if they agree then you in turn make sure your home for the time they say,not later,if they say you can go for an hour,then don't moan about it,go for the hour and be back on time, then when they see they can trust you they may be more flexible. one thing i wouldn't do is waste my breath on the brother side of the argument,i'm afraid you wont win that one,i never won that one either! there's a saying " softly softly catchy monkey" in other words go slowly now and you'll get there in the end,start small and work up. good luck!

Why are there still so many stupid double-standards?

Its because of the nature of male-female relationships in general.

Men basically are put in pursuit of women. We have to PROVE ourselves worthy of the women we sleep with, since she has the vagina and basically runs the show. Because of that, when a woman sleeps around it looks worse because she looks like she has low standards for herself.

In terms of old man/old woman relationships with younger men/younger women....its more or less the same except in reverse. Older males are in a greater position of influence and can use that to coerce younger women to sleep with them, so they look "dirty". But the same cant be said for an old lady and a young man.

It sounds stupid at first but when you really think about it, it makes sense.

Why are there so many double standards between white people and African American people?

Um excuse!
White people are voting for McCain because he is white!Most of the Hilary Clinton supporters, Its a fact white Americans still harbor hatred for black people.

Black people have just been more real and admitting they are voting for Obama, because he is black, whereas white democrats, site a silly reason why they are not voting for Obama, but for McCain!

When Hilary lost the Primaries, instead of Uniting her party, she showed the prejudice that many whites still have for blacks.By not acknowledging Obama's victory, at first!.

Some Hilary Clinton supporters, have stated the only reason Obama is getting so much popularity in the polls, is because he is black.

Rush Limbaugh stated that about Donovan McNabb being so successful because he was black!

Look at how whites treated Tiger Woods when he first came out, and he dominated the golf tournaments. They changed the whole landscape of the sport to make it more challenging, this was only after Tiger won.

Then Fuzzy Zoeller, cracked that for the champions' dinner (at which the reigning champion sets the menu) Woods would feed everyone "fried chicken and chitlins".

What do you call that?

You live in a City where black is the Majority. Work and live amongst the white majority, and you would be amazed at what is said. The insults that I have had to put up with. It goes both ways!

Why do SO MANY women advocate double standards?

Some things do not change with culture, time, or location. This is one of them. Women do not have reason or accountability. Trying to hold them accountable by using reason is like trying to use a dog's wings to teach is to fly...they don't have wings, so will never fly. It doesn't matter how hard you try to reason with women, it does about as much good as trying to please or placate to them...nothing. They don't understand reason, they understand what they want and how they feel. They don't understand accountability, they understand they didn't get what they wanted and how to blame someone else for it (or how to blame something if they can't find someone).
