I am in 7th grade and need to write a short essay on the Vietnam War. I have found many websites, but they are all very detailed. Can anyone give me brief facts as to causes, important events and final outcome and/or direct me to a website that has a more simplified discussion of events for kids. Thanks.
Have you ever been a tourist in a country that people consider dangerous?
In 2016, while we were holidaying in Turkey, there were two blasts[1][2], one of them was just a couple of hours after we were there. Just a couple of months later, we saw some worst acts of violence in Turkey[3][4].In 2017, we did not disclose to any of our family and friends and made an adventurous trip to North Korea[5] . This was the time when the world was anticipating another world war involving North Korea[6].After these two incidents, our family got really frantic. They kept asking us for the next travel plans and could not stop expressing that we should not go to such “dangerous” places.So, in Dec 2017, I took my family to a trip to Egypt. A couple of weeks before we reached, there was a deadly ISIS attack[7]. Just a day before we visited Coptic Cairo, there was a gun shootout[8]. But, if you ask my family members which is their best trip ever, they would reply “Egypt!” If you ask my father where he wants to travel next, he’ll say “Israel.”These incidents are definitely terrifying. There is no doubt that these places are not dangerous. But they are so culturally and historically rich amazing places, that they worth taking all the risks in the world! I am glad that I was able to convince my family that the probability to die in a terrorist attack is lower than getting killed in a road accident. That should not stop us from exploring!We have just one life. We have no control on how it will end. But for me, travel the world, experience different places, culture and people is worth every venture! Non-Americans, if you don't consider tourism in the USA now, would a movement away from right-wing, populist politics and a period of established security give you cause to reconsider?
If there is a ‘movement’ away from tourism from foriengn travelers there certainly is no evidence of that. They pour over the borders, wait in lines at airports and Disney.A sure way to destroy tourism is to move further away from ‘right-wing’ Conservative Constitutiona Rule of Law and civility on a march toward socialized tyranny to communism of the democratic party today.How does the continued flow of drugs, terrorists and unknown peoples over the border at record levels, disarming citizens, operating no arrest sanctuary cities, lawlessness and Congress campaigning instead of legislating and a permanent ruling class keep one citizen safe, let alone a tourist ?Prior to the redefining of words and history for identiy and to fit the narrative words like, leftest gorillas, leftest resistance, left-wing extremists and other communists were referred to as the left. This did not sit well with the powers that be defining the subliminal propaganda they were developing and implementing beginning in the 60’s.The problem being the left side of the aisle was always left and the right side always right. And ‘right-wing’ was born without those now bleating the phrase giving it thought.HOW in the name of all reasonable logic is the ‘conservative’, Constitutionalist, Bill of Rights carrying, Bible clutching, family loving, equality for All (whitey too), farmers, shop keepers, laborers, money earners and lenders or even a ‘hippy’ wanderer defending it all, and community, by any means necessary including ‘deadly force’ and ballot box Radical or Extreme from enemies both foreign and domestic ? (I dare you to read that in one breath outloud : )Leftist spin and propaganda is not new or News. Some still believe it was the democrats that fought a War to free the slaves, fought to get Civil Rights passed in 1885, 1957 and 1968. Seeing welfare as compassion, not a dependent permanent voting class, making more for the administration thereof than providing for the unfortunate. Many many $500,000 per year pensions for Life.Only in America does Hate point at America and call it Hate to get even for Hate that Hate manufactured to remake America in Hates re-image. The rest of the World is running away from that, .. to America. Plantationists then, Plantationists now.My best advice to anyone traveling across America, stay out of the Blue, for now.
Does CCTV (closed circuit television) really reduce crime rates?
Without a doubt. Our street CCTV acts as a passive eye alerting us to brewing problems, injured victims, escaping offenders, traffic obstructions and seeing where property, weapons and drugs get dumped.It also acts as a big deterrent, we regularly see something brewing, then one person points at the camera and the other just walks off in a sulk. Without that camera there the next stage would be an assault.The cameras are requested to monitor officers conducting stops in the street, as both an extra corroboration against complaints and to let everyone know if it starts going wrong.Even some of the criminals like them because believe it or not, criminals can be crime victims too and the cameras have exonorated them.The only complaint we ever get about them is that we don’t have enough of them or they weren’t high enough resolution to pick out fine detail. They are sufficiently popular here that home CCTV and retail CCTV systems are always in demand.In the absence of CCTV you would need a vastly increased number of police to cover the same area as effectively, otherwise we would revert to how it used to be. The first we knew that someone had been assaulted was when they wandered into the station or got to a phone to call an ambulance, by which time the offenders are long gone and the evidence to secure a conviction gone with them.I still remember my friend staggering into our house about 30 years ago after popping out to buy some beer and being attacked. He had no idea who had done it, why, where they had gone and couldn’t remember their faces. He didn’t even bother to report it to police.
