Does Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for ps2 has a multiplayer that is not online?
No sorry it does not, it only has online multiplayer. But if you are looking for a good PS2 shooter game that does have offline multiplayer, Medal of Honor Frontline is a good choice.

Battlefield 2 for the PC is Online for the PC, and it allows you to get ranks and weapons playing online. But the console version isn't that good. So since you don't want online then Battlefield 2 will get real boring for you, so I wouldn't recommend it for you. Sorry.
Can't play Battlefield 2: Special Forces Multiplayer?
"Hello, Well, I've downloaded Battlefield 2: Complete Collection from the online EA Store through EA Download Manager. Now, here is the problem: When I go play Battlefield 2 multiplayer, no problem (haven't tried with the Booster Packs, though), but when I go play Battlefield 2: Special Forces multiplayer, the menu just fades black for a couple of milliseconds (literally, less than 1 second) and the menu comes up again (just like when you log into an account, the menu looks to come from the bottom). The screen still shows the servers list, but I can't play any of them, because of the same problem. No error messages appear on screen. What can I do? Thank you very much for your time."

Greetings from Australia,No, sadly not anymore.The fan-run revive network was told to shut-down by EA last year. It was quite sad that I couldn’t play BF2 anymore.I did once get BF2 from a friend on a USB, but couldn’t get the multiplayer to work.Hope this answers your question.

Why did the Battlefield games get released out of order (Battlefield 3, 4, Hardline then 1)?
The battlefield franchise has 2 distinct naming patterns.The first adopts a title which describes the setting of the the from the setting of the game. Prime examples of this are battlefield 1942, Battlefield Hardline, battlefield 2142. The title directly tells you where the setting was. 1942 is set in world war 2. 2142 is set in the near (ish) future. Hardline is set in modern crime around non military setting. Even bad company falls into this pattern as it is about bad company and their more arcade like system. They are ventures into new territory for the franchise and the title is used to tell what the style of the game will be.The other naming pattern is the sequel pattern. This is where battlefield 2, 3 and 4 get their names. So far these have all been modern combat games with a more serious tone. They are distinct as expansion of the battlefield franchise not as ventures into new territory like the last pattern. these are by no means bad games, many are considered some of the best in the franchise. They take the setting of a previous game and try to improve them. Battlefield 3 sought to improve on battlefield 2, and 4 to improve on 3. Bad company 2 took the style and success of the first bad company game and improved them.Battlefield 1 falls under the first naming trend. The 1 stands for world war 1.The exception to the rule at the moment is battlefield 5 or V. V is not a improvement on 4 nor does it stand for something like 1945. I’d argue that V follows the 2nd naming pattern but as there is already a battlefield 2 it is the next number for a sequel, based that battlefield V is an upgrade of battlefield 1.
Why does Battlefield 1's graphics look better than Battlefield 2?
I think you’re not aware of the fact that “Battlefield 1” is actually “Battlefield 5”.Yup,the game which has been released this year is battlefield 5. The game is based on the first world war. That’s why it is called Battlefield 1.Yeah it’s a bit confusing because there was actually never a game called “Battlefield 1”. The name of the first game of the franchise was “Battlefield 1942”. This is how it looked like.So here’s the thing. Battlefield 2 was released in 2005. On the contrary Battlefield 1 (Battlefield 5) has been released this year,in 2016. So obviously Battlefield 1 has the better graphics. It’s the latest game of the franchise,not the very first one.

It sounds like you downloaded the multiplayer demo by mistake. If you want to play single player you'll need to find and download the single player beta although I'm not even sure there is one. Edit: A beta is not the full game, it is a limited demo version designed to let players test out the bugs. Single-player betas are typically done in-house by hired game testers while multiplayer aspects are put up for download so the average player can play it and add their feedback. Your multiplayer beta will not have a single player campaign and the multiplayer aspect was over long before the game came out.
