Why Bomb Syria When Mexico Is So Much Closer

Why did the USA bomb Syria?

Assad made the same misjudgement that Japan made over 75 years ago.

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." ~ Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto

Should the U.S welcome 1,000,000 Syrian refugees?

If the US were truly a Christian nation, this would not even be up for debate. Of course you help out those need, facing death by war, displacement, and repression. That is needed far more than more bombs or sending guns. You help out because it's the right thing to do. For those of us who try to be good Christians (I'm Catholic) ethnicity or religion or country of origin should not matter. For those  people who are anti immigrant or anti Muslim or anti Arab or Middle Eastern people, you can claim to be many things. But you cannot claim to be a Christian without being seen as a hypocrite when you fail to help your fellow man. I don't know that 1 million refugees is the right number, that this many would choose to come here. There is no reason that this number could not be split with countries in Europe that have an equally noble tradition of taking in refugees. When I was traveling in Sweden I was impressed with how many Chileans the Swedes took in during the time of Pinochet's dictatorship. But since the crisis in Syria was partly created by US support for ISIS rebels earlier and the instability brought by the US invasion of Iraq, it seems only fitting. I thought it shameful and hypocritical of GW Bush that he did not make a special effort to aid Iraqi refugees caused by his war of choice.

Why don't France and America have the level of cooperation that America and Britain have?

Numerous reasons, some of them simple geography. The Greenland-Iceland-UK gap is a strategic choke point that Russians ships would have to come through from Murmansk in the event of hostilities. The UK anchors one end of that gap. So the two nations cooperate on surveillance of the region. The US and the UK are close partners at sea, because the UK has a fair-sized navy for such a small island, and can participate in joint operations like suppressing Somali piracy and keeping the Straits of Hormuz open (Iran has persistently threatened to close it). France’s navy is not that large.France has marched somewhat to the beat of a different geopolitical drum since the end of the Second World War. It strongly resists being seen as America’s poodle. Although it was a founding member of NATO and always committed to the defense alliance, it pulled out of the Integrated Military Command between 1966 and 2009 because the French public (and de Gaulle) wanted French defense decisions to be entirely in French hands. Part of this is wounded pride over the loss of its empire and emerging dominance of the USA. The US forced France (and its partners) to give up the Suez Canal and put a lot of pressure on it to abandon its colonies. You can understand some of this. Imagine the reaction in America if there were French army bases on US soil, and US soldiers under French command.France also firmly opposed the Second Gulf War, which led to a stupid backlash against them in the USA. Of course, it turned out they were right. It’s just a somewhat different view of their role in the world. The UK stands astride this weird gap between the USA and Europe, and its close relationship with the USA is symptomatic of its discomfort with being European. France is solidly in Europe and places France’s, and Europe’s, interests first in its thinking.

Is china becoming more powerful than America?

the u.s regime's power comes from aggression. if you have 10000 bombs pointed at every country from every direction, then obviously you will have more power. anyone who doesnt listen to the u.s regime gets killed like Gadafi, and Sadam. and if the u.s regime doesnt kill you, they send mercenaries into your country, like they are doing in Syria right now. the american regime closely resembles the mafia. China's power is more about mutual respect, and symbiotic relationships. China brings business to countries, while the u.s regime brings war, chaos, misery, and terorism. China sells things to people at a bargain. america and europe use their militaries and intelligence agencies to attack you if you do not buy enough of their overpriced crap. if you try to dominate any industry, then the west will try to crash it. america does not have a better economy. most of its economy is due to ill gotten gains. if you look at what america's economy is based on, it's basically a casino economy based on toxic derivatives, and credit default swaps. the u.s regime is perhaps the most corrupt regime in human history. China on the other hand, manufactures things and makes its money fair and square. i cannot say the same for america, european union, canada, or australia.

Why did people used to make watch executions like it was something fun?

I know when people were hanged back in the day people would go and buy beer and little souvenirs of the hanging. They would even make a picnic out of it. The romans built a whole stadium just for watching people die horribly. The Tyburn gallows were erected just to hang even more people at once. The catholics loved to burn people. Why would people want to go and watch other people die horribly? Would n;t this scar their children? I mean now a days kids can barely even watch a horror movie without crying and pissing themselves. Most adults can't even watch a horror film either. Have we gone soft as humans since then? Why don't we still have that urge to go and watch people be executed in very horrible ways? I know in Iran when they hang people it draws a large crowd still so I guess they still enjoy watching people suffer and die.

What happens if Africa exchanges land with South America?

I don’t believe how stupid this question is. It can only be from the USA as they have no geographical knowledge at all and think the USA is all there is except for:Where their bombs go. (Syria, Iraq)Who makes their TV’s and cell phones. (Asia)Who does all the dirty work for them. (Mexico)That is all they are taught. They think Africa is a country just south of Mexico. FFS.The people of the 54 countries of the continent of Africa are so much more knowledgeable of the different countries of the world than Americans do.That is a fact. No ways can two continents merge without the tectonic plates doing so.

Why did Turkey make so many enemies - Greece, Cyprus, Israel, Syria, Iran, Armenia near its border and also with Russia and China ?

It is not exactly true that Turkey has made enemies but surely they have been moments of tensions and political aggression. I tend to believe that this is due to Erdogan’s policies.Firstly, he wants to impress to everyone close by that Turkey is the regional Super power of the area and thus makes shows of power, flexes his fingers to anticipate reactions. Of course this is only for show so other transactions normally continue. Example, Turkey is powerful enough to defy and stop the Russian air operations so shoots down a jet or claims land from the neighbors. This is mostly emotional though, and for show as these actions are not well thought out. In the Russia incident, Turkey had to beg for forgiveness soon enough and the installation of Anti aircraft batteries by the Russians in the region actually stopped Turkish air operations in the vicinity.Secondly, creating an alien enemy has been the most common way to distract a society from internal struggle and Erdogan’s aggression can be linked chronologically with political events such as elections and so on.The Turkish people however I firmly belive are generally friendly and peace loving people.

Iraqi insurgents: terrorists or freedom fighters?

We invaded Iraq, took over their country, murdered many civilians. The insurgents, or "terrorists" who fight back, are demonized by mainstream America. Now, if the Mexican, Canadian, Chinese, or Russian, or whatever foreign army invaded the States, took over, murdered our people, wouldn't we be doing the same thing to them what the Iraqi "terrorists" are doing to us? Isn't that what our founding fathers, Patriots, Sons of Liberty, Continental Army did to the Redcoats during the War of Independence??

Also, it's very possible, in fact, it's been PROVEN that 9/11 was an INSIDE JOB. Very similar to the Reichstag incident in 1933. Bush is a NAZI.
