What is it like to be able to read people?
Being able to read people is basicly your emotional quotient. In many areas of our existence we need to be able to understand what the other person is thinking. As a mental health clinician it is very important to be able to understand what someone is thinking but perhaps not saying. Accurate understanding of what people are thinking is very beneficial in assisting people with dealing with their problems. There are many people who need to be able to accurately. “read” people. Professional poker players need to read each other accurately. This is the ultimate game of subterfuge. Everyone is attempting to read the other person and not have an accurate reading of themselves. You ask what is it like to be able to read people? It is gratifying if I am able understand what someone is thinking and then be able to provide help for them. This is also called accurate empathy.
Which signs are good at reading people?
Water signs are said to be sensitive, however, there is an upside to this. Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer are all intuitive and perceptive signs. We observe even the smallest of subtleties. We know when there is something different in a person. Scorpio is very perceptive and intuitive. Pisces can actually feel what another person is feeling. Cancer is a combination of both. No other elements can read moods better than the water element. Water placements in a chart can also make someone intuitive.

Why does a scorpio READ people?
A scorpio reads people automatically and unwillingly. They have discretion and can erase in their mind what they have read, and even force themselves to think they read wrongly. I can read people and tell you why they're feeling the way they do, but can't feel their emotion myself is this lack of empathy?
Well, It’s a hard question that I’ve been trying to answer for a long period in my life. I’ll share my thoughts with you.First, you should be happy and proud for the ability of reading people’s feelings. Trust me, very few persons around us are capable of understanding our feelings. I personally value people with those skills around me and I’ll be happy to find more of them. Moreover, if you understand why they feel so, you should be able to find how to get them out from that state; and that’s just great and that’s what your friends need! So congratulation for these skills! You’re not wearing a mask, no worries, take that idea out of your mind!Then, you are saying that your sympathy for people has started to vanish. This is a sign that you’re getting emotionally stronger and less vulnerable to emotional influences and accidents. Maybe you’ve been building these defensive mechanisms after some accidents you had. I can’t say that this is definitely a good or a bad thing and my judgement depends on many factors such as in which situations you don’t feel the sympathy (maybe if you give me further details).Next point, you’re saying “I want to go back and fall in love again”. You still didn’t specify what kind of love you’re talking about, because there is a difference between falling in love with a guy and loving others. For the first case, you don’t have to be worry now, because I’ve seen very tough (emotionally) girls falling in love when they truly meet the right guy. For the second case, I believe that it’s so hard and so time/emotion consuming to love everyone we meet in these life. You have to choose the right persons around you to take care of and show sympathy to. So, start from there!Finally, it’s complicated to learn to feel love (if you don’t feel it already, which I strongly doubt). I can give you some tips though:- First, as I said, you have to select few persons and convince yourself they deserve your love for the reasons you chose them.- Show your love by being always ready to help, being available for these persons in case they need you- Put it in your agenda: “ask about my beloved and share our concerns” I would recommend you practice that. If you have a religious background like me, that helps you to love others. The religion part is another complicated issue though, but if we understand correctly religion, we will spread love.Good luck with all that. But trust me, you have nothing to be ashamed of.
Is it normal to be able to "read" people like a book?
While some people can be *easy to understand, some can be completely unpredictable. Some books are easy to comprehend while some can have an unpredictable plot.So it is possible to read people like a book, in several reasons. It's easy to read someone you've known for decades, or for over a few months or years if that person is completely transparent (as told by Eric Lauritzen below) then it wouldn't be difficult to read them. But for people you've just met, it could be possible to know them but I think it would loose the mystery a bit. People/Humans are complex creatures and most of us share the same attitude while it is safe to accept that we can all be different in some ways. So, the concept that a person can read people, even psychologists or psychoanalysts, couldn't be possible.
Why can't I read when there are other people talking?
I can't even read when there is a lot of background noise.I seem to be getting distracted easily but I don't know why. Also, lately I've been less able to concentrate on the teacher at school or on the subject they are teaching. I am 17.
