In your case, if Sims 2 was not playable, you have zero chance with Sims 3 unless you get a new laptop. You should have read the system requirements of the game before you installed it. Your processor is not fast enough. Your video card is not powerful enough, AND it does not provide enough video memory for the game. So, no wonder you can't play it and you keep on encountering errors. In most cases, playing powerful games on weak systems doesn’t usually create glitches. Instead, this will create poor visuals and performance issues. Weak and damaged GPUs will create visual glitches, only because the processor can’t handle the needs of the game. Sims 3 for that matter, is not very demanding. I see no reason as why the Macbooks can’t handle it.

First off thank you for attempting to answer. The problem is that i've bought my sim a laptop (currently in inventory) and a computer. I've put the computer on a desk and there's a chair in front of the computer. I've tried using the laptop (went in inventory tried to select laptop but to no prevail) I don't understand! I really want to be able to use the computer/laptop because he's a "computer whiz" and so... it's just natural for him to use the comp/laptop. Anyone mind helping out?
Sims 3 kills my laptop's battery!?
I've had my Alienware laptop for years now and suddenly, while unplugged as I was playing Sims 3 (I was playing with 9 expansions installed) my laptop goes dead. I plug in the charger and I load it back up and it works fine but I can't unplug the charger otherwise the whole thing turns off. I installed a new battery and played the sims 3 again, thinking it was just the battery itself but then it turns off again meaning it is the sims 3! I'm uninstalling the game and all its expansions but I wanna know how to fix up my battery? Is it completely dead or can it be saved from this? Also how did the sims 3 kill my battery if you know?

1. Get a cooling fan for your laptop. 2. Set all graphic settings into low. 3. Don't 'high performance' your laptop's battery. 4. If you like to play it in home, charge your laptop and pull out the battery. 5. Upgrade your RAM. 6. Close other applications except for your game. 7. Minimize USB-Ports connections. 8. Give your laptop a break. 9. Set your NVIDIA or ATI graphic cards to prioritize performance than graphic. 10. Don't play that game.

First question - do you have mods and cc in your game?If you have mods, you should check if each of them is up to date, especially if this is happening after game update. And maybe some of your cc are too old to work for your game too?If updating mods doesn’t work, try to take Mods folder out of your The Sims 4 file and then try if the game opens.
