Homeowners Insurance cost in Florida?
My husband and I just got an acceptance for a house we put an offer on. The house is in Orange County Florida, 82810 and has 2 beds 1 bath and 1005 sq ft. It was made in 1940, updated plumbing and electrical in 1989, House (not the land) was appraised at 55,000 in 2007, but i'm sure this has gone down in this economic weather. No pool, no garage tell me if you need more info to help me out on how much you think it could cost. I can't seem to find anywhere online for quotes for home owners insurance, just numbers to call and we need to find someone by Monday morning. I'm going to call in the morning but i don't know how much time I'm going to have before we go into the Real Estate office. My questions are: Do you know of online homeowners insurances in Florida that have an online quote system? How much do you think insurance for a year would cost on a house this size? What homeowners insurances generally have the lowest rates? Thank you so much for your help!!!

Your best bet is to grab a phone (I always keep my phone on me) and exit out a window or a back door. You can then call the police who, in most areas, will respond within minutes.If you cannot flee for some reason, then you should still grab a phone and call the police. Leave the phone on the floor if the intruders capture you so that the operator/dispatcher will realize how serious your situation is and will send help immediately. If you are unarmed, don’t resist as the majority of burglars simply want cash or items to sell to purchase drugs.if you are armed or you can get to a weapon within seconds, then head for an interior room (again with a phone) lock the door and call the police. If the intruders try to follow you or break in (NOTE: MAKE CERTAIN THAT IT ISN’T THE POLICE) use your weapon to defend yourself and any of your family members.Life, yet again, is not a film or a television series. Do not:Shoot wildly before you have confirmed your target Go from room to room “clearing” your house. Leave that to the police.Chase the assailant from your home with your weapon in hand, regardless of what they might have stolen. What does it feel like to be in a high-speed car crash? Did you hit a car, or were you hit by another car? Did you drive into a stationary object?
I was driving back from college for Thanksgiving break when I was involved in my serious wreck. It had rained the night before but the roads were not really wet anymore. I was on a highway and as I started to switch lanes I hydroplaned due to a small space between the concrete of the lanes (idk how it was big enough to even make me hydroplane). So one second I was going 75 MPH and the next thing I know I am sideways on the road. I look out my driver-side window and see that I am headed straight for a telephone pole. I quickly thought “Okay, this can only end two ways: (1) I will die from this impact or (2) I will be paralyzed from it.” I took a deep breath and said something that my friends and I would say in high school when trouble was a major possible outcome. So I outloud and calmly said “well I hope this works out.” Luckily my tires were on the shoulder, which was grass, and it was wet enough to allow my car to slide down enough to where I missed the pole by inches. Right after watching my car barely clear the pole I let out some air as relaxation then all of the sudden…my car flipped 4 times and slammed into a concrete drainage ditch. I remember seeing everything too. From the windshield braking, dirt flying around, to all my stuff getting tossed about. Upon impact I got out of the car feeling just fine and with only a surface scrape smaller than the size of a dime on a knuckle. The police and emergency crews were telling me I needed to sit down since I had to have broken something and was just in shock so I could not feel it. However, I didn’t get hurt at all (outside of the surface scrap). They said that the fact that I was so calm and chill during it saved my life as they had never seen anyone walk away much less uninjured from a wreck like that in the 25+ years they had been doing their jobs.
