Why Cant I Upgrade My Lumosity To Full Acess

From Lumosity, is my BPI score good?

First thing, Happy new year :)

I've been training with Lumocity for about a month, but then I stopped, but i started again just there :)

I remember I had a BPI of ~700 first time I played, but slowly I progressed, now after my long break which I regret!

BPI 1037
Speed 1241
Memory 1153
Attention 946
Flex 1210
Prob Solving 635

My Score beginning was quite bad, but I have improved. I really regret stopping, i wonder what score i would be at now if I haven't stopped.

My new year resolution is to keep to Lumosity :) 2013!

Is my BPI score from lumosity any good?

Luminosity really has nothing to do with your intelligence, it can only speed up your thinking and improve your memory. How good your score is depends upon you age, as people under age 29 automatically have faster response times and better short-term memories. These things begin to gradually erode after age 29.

Do brain training games (Lumosity, Memorando, Peak, Elevate, etc) really work?

Reach out to your smartphone, go to the app store and search Brain games. You will be provided with a huge list of apps which offers you various methods for training your brain that claim to improve your intellect, focus, concentration and memory. But do they really improve those areas? The answer is NO.We all might have played these games for a week and found ourselves feeling good, feeling that our intelligence has raised to a smaller limit than the previous week, looking at our weekly reports scores which obviously would be higher than the previous score will make us feel that these apps are actually working. But that’s just an illusion. What actually is happening is that you are getting good at that particular game but no memory improvement, just that game which tricks you into believing that your brain is expanding..There were research carried out to find out whether the above facts were true or not. CBC conducted an experiment on 54 people. Their brain activity was tested before and after one month of playing a brain game and as expected the test result did not show of any improvements in their brain activity.According to research no matter how long you play the brain activity remains the same. For more detailed info check here Do Brain games Work..??? ~ sarvalog

Is there any free alternative to Lumosity's "Train of Thought" game?

Try Memory Detective. It focuses on challenging and training of your working memory. It is based on psychological studies. It’s easy to start but becomes a little harder as you play through higher levels.I have played Lumosity for years, I think Memory Detective is much funnier than Lumosity. It's free on Google Play. If you have an android device, you can try it.https://play.google.com/store/ap...Preview:

Is Brilliant.org worth a subscription (Brilliant square)?

Yes, for sure. I’m a self-taught software engineer and I’m looking learn more computer science stuff, which means I had to relearn all of my high school and pre-university math. I tried Khan Academy, and it was alright when I had lots of time and patience, but it got boring quite quickly. The questions on Brilliant are way more interesting. Even the pre-algebra and math fundamental stuff - on KA they are mind numbing but in Brilliant the questions are crafted to be challenging and to raise curiosity, even if they are about simple topics. I’ve never found numbers to be more interesting in my life. The layout is also simple and does not overwhelm me. It’s easy to come back after a hard day at work and to do a few problems on Brilliant. Also, I have a feeling I move faster with completing topics with Brilliant. The reward system is better designed I think.I pair Brilliant with Anki. Problem with Brilliant is that there are not enough practice questions. A topic is introduced, you start at a basic level and then work your way to harder problems. I put some concepts I learn into Anki and drill on them everyday. Since I’m doing this really spread out (no time for ultra learning) I really need to keep what I learn in memory and since Brilliant doesn’t have enough questions to practice on, I use Anki. So far this combination works well for me. Bear in mind I only have 1 hour a day to do this and I work a mentally tiring job - but despite this the questions on Brilliant really get me so hard that I just HAVE to solve them. So this is saying a lot. Worth the money for sure. Hours of entertainment. Also sometimes I like to go to random courses and take a look, like learn how household appliances work, they also have this kind of thing which is better than reading some pop sci book.
