Why Did Communism Start

Why did America hate communism?

Leslie, Not only Cold War; what about Vietnam?

Daniel, Like im going to take advice from you. You think the kick off to World War II was Pearl Harbor. A little information for you. Japan was in a war of their own and they got all their supplies from us. We thought we could end the war if we embargoed and stopped supplying their war. Well they didn't take kindly to that so they dropped a bomb on Pearl Harbor. We in return dropped 2 nukes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They surrendered.

Why did communism rise in Russia?

Communism appealed to many Russians because it was radical, anti-monarchy, anti-church, anti-aristocracy and pro-worker.
The Tsars had, unwittingly, laid the foundations for the popularity of communism through a long term ban on political parties, they were only legalised in 1905, and through the massive industrialisation policy coupled with punitive taxes on the peasantry. The communists were the only party that seemed to offer a solution to the poverty, lack of education and oppression felt by many people.
The anti-church policies appealed because the Orthodox Church was one of the pillars of the establishment, they were viewed as aiding the Tsar in his oppression of the people.
However, the Socialist Revolutionary Party, a radical, rural based, non-Marxist, socialist party was the largest in Russia from about 1914 until it was banned in the early 1920s.

The Russian Social Democratic Labour Party was formed in 1883 by Georgi Plekhanov. Later a young radical called Vladimir Ul'ianov joined the party. In 1903 Ul'ianov split the party in two factions, his Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks, led by Julius Martov and Plekhanov - in 1912 they split into two separate parties. Ul'ianov would lead his Bolsheviks to victory in the October Civil War - he was now known by his nom de plume - Vladimir Lenin.

Before the start of WW2 Vietnam, Cambodia and laos were all part of the french empire in a region known as the French Indo-China.During the war Japan ivaded this region but were later defeated. The French tried to regain control of this area once again however the Vietnamese under the communist leader Ho Chi Minh and his supporters staged a guerilla war against the french. Why did communism develop and why did it fail?

Communist ideas originally arose out of the struggles of ordinary people against exploitation, oppression and poverty — for example, the Spartacus revolt in Italy (73 BCE), the Peasants’ Revolt in Britain (1381), the Münster Rebellion in Germany (1534), but especially the English Civil War (1642–51), the French revolutions (1789–1799, and 1830), the European revolutions (1848) and the Paris Commune (1871). Those ideas were given a solid theoretical foundation by Karl Marx (1818–83), and put into practice in the Russian Revolution (October 1917, old calendar) by the Bolshevik Party. Here is an earlier answer of mine that explains why it failed:Why-did-socialism-fail-in-Russia/answer/Rosa-Lichtenstein============================Whenever I post anything about Marx, Marxism or socialism, right-wing Quorans pile into me about the ‘evils of communism’, as if I haven’t heard this a thousand times already, or as if they were the very first to make that point. In order to forestall the seemingly inevitable, and to save me having to make the same points over and over again in response, such irate individuals are encouraged to follow the above link for my pre-emptive answer.Abusive Quorans and time-wasters will have their posts deleted and will be blocked. I am tired of being patient with such individuals and with having to be all sweetness and light in return. Those who want to be civil and argue like grown-ups will, of course, be listened to.

How did communism cause WWII?

Communism didn't cause WWII. Fascism, or Nazism at that time, did. Germany became Fascist and started taking over Europe. Mussolini then turned Italy Fascist to protect it. The only communist country really involved was the USSR and they were an Allie

How did communism end in Russia?

On December 26, 1991 at exactly 9:00pm in Moscow Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev addressed the nation saying he’s resigning as the leader of the USSR.That was the end OFFICIALLY. But the real end of it was on December 8, 1991 when the leaders of Belarus, the Ukraine and the Russian SFSR namely Stanislav Shushkevich of Belarus, Leonid Kravchuk of the Ukraine and the all time saint of the end of the USSR, Boris Yeltsin signed the Belavezha Accords which recognized the independence of the three states from the USSR and the creation of the CIS or the Commonwealth of Independent States.Gorbachev promised more reforms within the already crumbling Soviet system but he never thought that his own people would hate Glasnost (openness) and Perestroika (restructuring) in the country he led while it was effective for the countries within the Warsaw Pact countries like Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and East Germany. The people were sick and tired of the economic situation in the country and the political system was ravaged with corruption and the members of the Communist Party specifically in the Central Committee and the Politburo all went their own ways, became individualistic and wanted their own pockets filled and put in disregard the unity of the Soviet Union which Gorbachev still wanted but what Yeltsin did not. This then paved way for the corrupt oligarchs to take over the government which Yeltsin allowed.
