Why Did My Insurance Pay Me Help

Did your parents pay your car insurance when you were a teenager?

I don’t know exact numbers, but when my parents added me to their insurance they told me that their insurance rates almost doubled just because of me, even with my “good student” and “safe driver” discounts. They said the only reason they let me drive in high school was because I went to an out of district school for the IB program and they didn’t want to go out of their way to drop me off and pick me up every school day. This didn’t really mean anything to me at the time because I was just a kid who never paid a recurring bill in his life yet. All I knew was that I was able to drive, yay! Then my brother became old enough to drive, but my parents wouldn’t let him get his license because his school was within walking distance, so why would he ever need to drive? When we went on to college, he still didn’t have his license because my mom worked at his school, so they would just car pool together. Then my mom left that job so now he had an actual reason to drive. My parents transferred my car’s title to me and made me get my own insurance so that they could add my brother without their insurance costs skyrocketing again.I thought that was fair, “my parents aren’t rich and driving is a luxury”, I thought to myself. I signed up for insurance and it ended up being about $110 a month for minimal coverage with my good student and safe driver discounts just to drive my 12 year old Honda around. I was a college student at this time living off of $200 a month after rent before I had to pay for my own insurance. Gas was about $40 a tank at the time too.My friends asked me why I had to pay for my own insurance, but they also drove BMWs, Lexus’, or other brand new cars too - so they probably wouldn’t have really understood anyway if I did tell them.

Insurance pays for Impound fee's help?

Here is my situation. I was driving from school and a crazy driver made me avoid him almost hitting me causing me to crash into a parked car on the curb, the guy recklessly driving left the scene and i got stuck with all the blame. I'm a teenager 17 years old i have no license nor permit but i was responsible enough to get myself insured in the car full coverage i had to find ways to get from school to home and from home to work. Well my car got impounded and now i'm stuck with a hefty ticket for 1) making an unsafe move 2) Driving without a license and my dad got a ticket for letting me drive without a license. The car is totaled from the right side of the front and it's a Toyota Celica GT-S 2004. My questions is this. Will insurance pay for the towing and impound fee's that are about to hit me? I live in California. I have full coverage on insurance and i already called them and I'm expecting a call back. I really can't afford the impound fee's and my dad is in a very heavy financial situation. I pay for the car myself and insurance which is hefty. I'm just wondering if insurance will pay for the Impound fee's and the cars damage. Thanks for your answesr.

Will insurance help pay for me to remove some dead trees from my yard?

My house has 2 huge dead pine trees that could fall on top of it when they fall. I'm going to get them cut down, so will my farmer's homeowners help pay some of the cost. The trees died from pine beetles, if that matters.

Is life insurance worth it?

I'm currently a freshmen in college, and my family asked me if I want to help pay $75 for my dad's life insurance and $40 for myself in the future. I'm really uncertain to help pay because I don't make enough. On average per month, I get $500 to $600. With that check, I pay $240 for my car insurance and $50-$80 for utility. That is about $320 out of my check. That would leave me with 3 to 400 in my pocket. Most of those money goes straight to gas, since I commute from school a lot. I do go out sometime, because at a young age, my parent were strict. I never got to go out with friends, so leaving my hometown was a opportunity to have fun. In general, for gas and outdoor stuff, I spend at least 200 in a month. Should I help my family pay for the life insurance and should I do one for myself?

How can I get insurance company to give me a check instead of paying the repair shop?

So guys can you help me on what to do in my situation? So this guy hit my car a month ago and I made my claim to his insurance company. Just so you know a little about me I’m 18 and this is the first time I’ve been in an accident and had to make a claim. I don’t really know anything about insurance and claims and all this other stuff so I needed a little help. So I went to two auto shops and got an estimate for how much it would cost to fix my car. The thing is after the insurance guy came and looked at my car he basically issued me a check for how much it would take to fix my car, but he wants to issue the check to the auto repair show and not me. I would rather have the check issued to me because, my brother-in-law could fully fix my car for thousands cheaper than these shops are charging me and I could definitely make some money that I so much very need as college tuitions is killing me :( So guys/gals my question is how can I get the insurance company to issue the check to me instead of the auto repair shop? I read that could request a cash settlement. Can someone also explain what that is? And also would the fact that I’m currently financing my car as I make monthly payments on it affect anything? Would check be issued to the bank and not me? I read about lien scenarios, but would that apply in my situation? I just need help. I’m young teen and there some things I just haven’t been taught yet :/

Will car insurance pay for my damaged car ?

I have full comprehensive car insurance, I had an accident and police is trying to accuse me of careless driving, if so proved will insurance still pay for my damaged car?

Will my insurance help me if I inflicted damage to my car but not to any other? But I will be reporting it months late, should I lie about the date or just pay the costs myself and not involve them? I have full coverage btw

It depends what you mean by 'inflicted'… if you have full coverage then it will respond to fix your damages depending on how they happened. If you are found at fault in your claim you will see a spike in your rates on renewal.I'm not sure what the time limit is in your jurisdiction, but you should have a fair amount of time to get the claim reported. And as always with insurance claims, do not lie.If the damages to your vehicle are minimal then you may want to consider handling these outside of insurance. Reporting it and being found at fault will only serve to put your premiums up anyway, so if it's something that is easy to take care of then you may want to do that and not involve the insurance company.

I bumped another car. Will my insurance go up?

I bumped into someone’/ rear bender at a stop light since I wasn't paying attention and the brake went off a little bit. It ended up in 2 small scratches. The person was telling me that it was going to cost $1000 to fix with the insurance so that’s super weird. I’m 19. Idek what to do. Please helpDo you mean “bumper”? The side panel behind the doors is a quarter panel. The front side panel in front of the doors is a fender. There is no “bender” on a car.Bumpers used to be chrome plated and difficult to repair. Now they’re sheathed in plastic. If there was no structural damage to the bumper, the scratches might be repaired by painting, or possibly by replacing the bumper cover. But hold your hat! You can kick a car and easily cause $500+ damage. It is quite possible that the damage will cost $1000.What to doReport the accident to your insurance company.Tell your adjuster that the only damage was two small scratches on the rear bumper and that you are skeptical about the claimant’s estimate. If you took photos at the scene (always a good idea), send the photos to your adjuster.Let the insurance company handle it. They will check it out. Will your rates go up at the next renewal date? Maybe. It depends upon your insurance company’s internal policy.Because you are only 19, you are considered a poor risk. Until you are over 25, your rates are going to continue to be higher than for other people. It seems unfair, but the reality is that young men under 25 have way more accidents than older drivers. Drivers ages 16-19 are three times more likely to crash than drivers over 20. Men under 25 get in more accidents because they’re more prone to aggressive behavior and risk taking.Call your insurance agent and ask if your premium is likely to go up because of this accident, and how much it will go up. If it seems astronomical, you can start shopping around for a different insurance company.

Should my auto insurance be responsible for helping me negotiate with the insurance of the at-fault driver for vehicle damages/injury claim/wage loss?

Should my auto insurance be responsible for helping me negotiate with the insurance of the at-fault driver for vehicle damages/injury claim/wage loss? The details of your question indicate that you have pursued action against the other party rather than through your own insurance company. It also seems you may not be in a No-Fault state, as your medical expenses and lost wages are being sought through the other insurance carrier.Should my auto insurance be responsible for... Vehicle Damages: Given those assumptions, the only way your insurance company would be involved is if you had claimed your vehicle's damages under your Collision coverage. In that event, your insurance carrier has a contractual right to recover payment or to seek "subrogation" against the other party. See sample auto policy below: But... it appears you chose to seek damages directly from the other carrier. Now it's your responsibility to see it through. Should my auto insurance be responsible for... Injury Claim/Wage Loss?: Only if your insurance policy was contractually obligated to pay for your injuries or lost wages. Did your policy contain a coverage part that would respond for injuries or lost wages? If so, check with your insurance representative to see if you can still submit a claim. If not, it is the the person seeking to recover compensation (the claimant... say you) that has the obligation to pursue action and demonstrate that other party is at fault. How is your insurance company obliged if it was not part of the coverage or contract you purchased?Your best advocate in the event of a compensable loss is an attorney versed in that effort. It may be time to retain one.You are making an argument in favor of No-Fault insurance, but that is beside the point. If your insurance company is not contractually obligated to compensate for the loss, they will not respond. If you think they have an obligation under your policy and you are not receiving appropriate responses, get your agent involved and file a complaint with the appropriate state insurance department. You can find their contact information on the NAIC's website here. Best regards.
