Wired or wireless mouse? If wireless, install the drivers from your CD.

Edit: If you use a wired mouse, it should use the operating system's drivers. Somehow, your computer has "lost" them. You could try a system restore back to a time when they did work (do this in safe mode). or
Your best bet may be to do a repair installation of your operating system.

The mouse pad of my dell xps15 laptop is not working. An orange light is glowing and i have restarted?

Hi amit,

Make sure that the touchpad is not disabled. If you have XPS L501X, there is a touchpad disable key to the right of F12 key. If you have XPS L502X, try pressing Fn + F3.

Try unplugging any external devices connected to the system. Ensure that the touchpad has no dirt, grease, liquids or food on it. Also, make sure the latest driver for the touchpad is installed. You may download and install the latest version from the link below:

Enter the system Service Tag and click on ‘Continue’. Select the operating system and it will display a list of available downloads.

Hope this helps.

Check your Mouse/Keyboard control settings. Sometimes the Dell quickset utility gets confused.

Also, I'd download the latest drivers from Dell here:
