What kind of hobbies do highly intelligent, i.e., those with intelligence levels beyond the exceptional, people have?

This one is not about myself, but one of the most intelligent people in my family.  That is my mother, whose IQ was tested a couple of times at over 160.  She had a straight 4 point grade average, the highest at her state university at the time.  When she went back at age 35 to finish up her degree, her close friends at college were the professors.  Throughout her life, she always had many friends of that intellectual capacity.  We didn't have a set of encyclopedias at home because Mother herself was a walking encyclopedia, and could supply any info we kids needed for writing a paper, saying that if we ran into something she didn't know, we could just go to the library.  We never had to go to the library. For hobbies, she ~read voraciously (was a speed reader)~wrote prose and poetry in addition to editorials for the St. Petersburg Times and a local best selling book on the history of that area, ~played bridge twice a week (she said to stay sharp as she went into old age), ~did much community volunteer work usually seeing needs and setting up charity programs, getting them functioning and then going on to set up another charity project, ~ she relaxed by doing gardening  ~and intellectual discussions.  She had hundreds of friends because of her warm heart, but particularly enjoyed the stimulation when she could get together with some of her most highly intelligent friends for the pleasure of intellectual discussions.  An aside on the last item: As an adult, I sat in on one of those and felt very inferior indeed as I sat and listened to these informed folks talking in great detail about politics, world events, government programs, etc.  I didn't know the meaning of some of their words, had never heard of some of the people, political situations or history except in the most rudimentary way, and felt very much the 45 year old bumpkin who had wasted her own mind on weed and meaningless pursuits until age 37.  This group however consisted of individuals who each one was able with his combined sharp memory, quick wit, fine analysis and humor to entertain any of the finest minds around.
